  1. This is how your pvp rotation should go: Grav round, grav round Grav round, high impact bolt, grav round, grav round, grav round, high impact bolt.....and so on. Charged shot and full auto are poor damage in comparison. The only time you ever use charge shot is when someone interrupt and blocks your grav round. Then you use grav round as soon as you can. NEVER use hammershot as a gunnery spec. Only if you're on the move and have thrown off a grenade. The only spec where you'll use hammershot is assault or medic. For single target damage grav round then HiB is god. Everything else is just a waste of ammo.
  2. Well, at least it makes what to do in a fight easier. Damage or use my stun grenade.
  3. It's a lost cause. You would have to redesign Ilum from the ground up. There would need to actively be a need to fight there and not in warzones. If a game has a gear grind in you've immediately destroyed open pvp. There is no fixing this.
  4. It would seem everyone else gets some sort of interrupt, ability to close down abilities for a short while. We get? We need a mix up of abilities. More utilities as a support dps. Currently gunnery spec is grav round, grav round and then some more grav round intersperced with hib. Assault is a joke, it's just a way of doing tiny damage to lots of people and creating large numbers at the end tables. Combat medic is the only interesting route.
  5. It's interesting to see how this thread is divided into 2 categories: 1) Those who played Daoc and know how good open world pvp can be. 2) Those who seem to think pvp is what Warcraft gave them. Easy to see why people are satisfied with grinding the same 3 warzones ad infinitum to gain gear to grind the same 3 warzones more effectively. Am I the only one who can see this? I feel like i'm going crazy sometimes. The same **** happened in Rift.

    Can't win pvp

If you're finding pvp on swtor a challenge then I strongly suggest you never play pvp in any other mmo again. It's by far and away the easiest least skilled pvp to be succesful at. I played gunnery spec for a while on my upcoming commando from levels 20-29 in level 20 pvp gear, i don't think i ever bothered changing a single item yet would achieve top damage/kills and more victories than defeats, no premade. I consider myself average at pvp.
  7. It wasn't to everyones tastes. It tended to weed out those who were just bad in general. I imagine it didn't appeal to those who equated grind with ability to win. Or those who expected to mash a few buttons to be successful. Daoc took alot of balancing to get things decent, but the ability to improve was there from the start. Swtor pvp needs a redesign from the ground up to change openworld pvp.
  8. 1) Warzones - Just a terrible idea in any game. Discourages openworld pvp. In all the games that have had warzones open pvp became extinct. Examples : Rift and Warcraft. Why go and search for fights when you can stand around waiting for warzones to pick you up and grind your way to whatever rank. 2) Grind for gear. So SO awful a mechanic. There are many of you who never played Dark ages of camelot, so have no idea about designing and crafting your own gear. So if someone had the skill, they could best opponents of much higher ranks. When how many hours you aimlessly grind away > how good you are and tactics makes for a joke of a pvp system. 3) Resolve bar - what a piece of **** design. Really?, You can be stunned/grappled/rooted/snared/pulled/knockbacked multiple times before the bar is full and you have one purge to deal with it. Even if the bar falls by 0.000001 percent it means you can eat a full 4 sec stun again. Breaking the mold is good in some cases. Tried and tested is better in this case. Either cc immunity for x seconds after the cc type or diminishing returns. Sadly at this point it's obvious the pvp was pretty much an add on. There's no real open world objectives, no real reason to open world pvp since you can achieve the same in wzs with far less effort. You're paying your x amount a month to basically play 3 warzones. I can play TF2 for free and get to choose from 5 times that many scenarios. When they make it cross server you'll be playing against randoms each time, so you won't even recognise your enemies anymore. Open pvp will still be dead on the less populated servers. Too many of you think that Warcraft set the precedent for pvp and that gear grind/warzones is how it should work. Those of you who came from Daoc know differently and that open pvp is by far and away the most enjoyable experience of mmo pvp.
