  1. big problem on this server, says "light load" yet there is a 60 minute or greater wait time for subs? really?
  2. It was stated that all they need to make this game profitable is 500,000. They have 1.3 million. I think it is making a profit.
  3. Part of the problem is that SWTOR is new. Like anything new, there are those who will try it and not like it. The game is very "fan based" also, and like many comic book movies, if the fans feel that the item has strayed to far off base, then you lose them too. Look at what happend with the new Star War movies. The game is a fine game, I do not compare it to any others I have played because it is a different game. If you must know, the best game that I feel is out there as an MMO is Heroes/Villians. The character creation is a mark of genius, the quests are good. PvP is a bit non-balanced, but then again, I do NOT believe in balance in any game, PvP or not. If I am playing a sniper, I expect to be good at being a sniper. If a tank is about to roll over my poor squishy body, I do not cry "foul! not balanced!", I simply expect to become one with the ground. I do not ever expect to be able to take out said tank. That is for someone playing a tank buster type. No where in any of the articles quoted does it put the blame on SWOTR about poor stock or layoffs. It is simply a sign of the times with the economy the way it is. Many can not afford the games like they used to.
  4. You are now REQUIRED to type a name in the name box rather than do a random search. You can no longer pick any and see what is out there. Even during specific searches you must put a name. I hit "armor", then "light armor" and keep the rest at any and the search button does not light unless I type something in the name catagory. I have tried typing "any" and still no search light up. is there an issue?
  5. Note to crafters: start selling your crafts in the kiosk. now there is an idea. you can acutally make credits then.
  6. I will agree that the Republic is broken. the quests are boring, the npc followers boring, and the skill sets are horrible. wow, a sage can throw rocks and give someone a headache. seriously??? that is the big force attack?? let's face it, sage skill and skill tree vs sorc skill and skill tree. no comparison at all. I know, I know, the Jedi are the "good guys" who do not use the force as a weapon, who do not kill, who yada yada yada. But that does not mean they have to throw rocks. Republic characters are just, well, boring. Even if you take all the darkside points, you still get to throw rocks. At least in the original game you could choose "darkside" powers if you went with darkside points. This is what I thought the darkside/lightside point system did here. But it actually means, well, noting in the grand scheme of things in the game. I think that the "light vs dark" should have a major impact on your character. Skill tree's and powers should be based on how you are leveling, light, neutral, or dark. It should not have anything to do with what you can wear. As it stands, are there really that many Republic players?
  7. I am still not sure of where all this "i hate the wz pvp" comes from. i have fun when there are strategically minded pvp'ers on, you know, the team type players, and i think it sucks when i am on with a lot of "1-on-1" type pvp'ers. it is not the system that is broke, it is the pvp'ers and their mindsets. we had a group that was pretty much 80% snipers of various levels, 1 low level operative healer and 1 juggie. The other team was various types including 3 high level healers. this was in the turret capture game. we won, hands down, with ease because the other team was the 1-on-1 type. i could hit a few and make them chase me away from the turret, as i became easy dead meat because my hit points were knocked down low it became apparent that they wanted the much coveted medal for killing me. so i drew away the whole defense of a turret while one other player walked up and took the turret. i was in a hutball game where we destroyed the other team, tho we were outnumbered and again, mostly shooters. 5 to 1 end score. i even scored one of those by getting the ball, going up the center bridge, two of my teamates ran ahead and engaged every single one of the other team. at that time i came off the final bridge where ALL the other team was fighting the two players from my team. i walked, yes walked, in the middle of the melee. twice bounced back onto the bridge, still walking thru the middle of the melee, and walked out of the melee and scored. DUH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! seriously, those players call themselves PvP'ers??????? yes, 1-on-1 pvp might be sucky. then again, i have never seen a pvp game where it isn't. i have NEVER seen a game where someone did not complain about "balance". "i have an ultra-monster-killer-build with ultra-monster-killer-equipment and i got beat by someone!' whine whine whine whine whine. suck it up. act like a true gamer who knows you can not win all everytime, get up, get on with your game.
  8. So far "good PvP'ers" are hard to find. What I usually see is a lot of chasing each other around like school children playing tag and very little strategy to complete the actual goal, or win, as it may be. I have seen ball carriers in Hutt Ball simply walk, and I mean WALK, right by 4 opposing team mates who are to busy trying to kill someone rather than change their attack and go after the ball carrier. Kind of like the defense in a football game all beating on the offensive line while the quarterback simply walks to the goal line. In the turret WZ's I watch as people will consistantly leave a turret unguarded as they tromp off to take the third turret. Why? You win with two turrets EASY. Take two, defend. Why do they run off and attack the third? The blast the door WZ is probably the one that can be exploited the most. I will see time and again, the attackers drawing the defenders away from the doors and some sneak character walk up and blow the door. Why do the defenders "chase" the attackers?? Who cares if they run away! You are defending, so defend, do not chase! The best ones are when I will attack about 4-5 different people to get them after me, while my team mates simply walk by and either get a goal, blow the door, or take the turret. I die a ton of times, but we win because some players just hate to be attacked or like to go after the "weaker" player. I have actually stood still and done nothing while being attacked as if I was "glitched" so my team mates can score. You do not believe how many players can get suckered into the "oh no, I am froze so you can kill me" kind of tactic. From what I can tell on here, PvP is NOT about winning the warzone, but about how many bodies you can rack up. Sadly, it seems to be the case on all PvP multiplayer games I have played on. I actually feel that the losers should get NOTHING! YOU LOST! I don't care how many bodies you racked up, YOU LOST!
  9. There are 2 games that might make me drop this one. GW2 and Mechwarrior online. It will depend on how good they really are.
  10. I like the way the game has the story lines. I must admit I do wish it had a little more freedom in the worlds and space. I would love to run into some random encounter in space. Or even some random encounter while heading to my next quest that throws a loop into what I am doing. I have seen this in only one other MMO that I will not name. No, it is not WoW. Sheesh, get over WoW already. It is NOT the holy grail of mmo's. Remember Ever Quest? Without that, WoW would not exist. We called it Ever Crack since it seemed people were so addicted to it. To many gamers from WoW try to compare every MMO they play to it. Why? Do you compare the orange to an apple? Do you complain that the orange is not red like an apple and there fore is not as good? Or the fact that you have to peel an orange to eat it, must make it a terrible thing to even try to eat. I think I won't try an orange because it is just not like the apple.
  11. I still like the PvP system. But there is a post on here that proves what one person said about many dedicated PvP'ers being nothing more than the "bully jocks". It calls everyone who likes the story phase "kids". Really? Obviously this person has probably never picked up a book in their life except those they were told to. Ok, like I said before, you want dedicated PvP, go to a dedicated PvP style game. There are tons out there. But please do not come in this game calling people who enjoy a different type of play names just because they are not dedicated PvP style players. It only shows off ignorance and the inability to accept another persons opinion. I have no problem with dedicated PvP gaming, and have enjoyed many of those. Playing Halo online with my friends on a team was some great times. Unfortunatly we got to good so we had a hard time finding anyone to game against us. Actually, as one person put it, it was simply mindless key smashing and such. You want some great PvP? Try it on a game where it is NOT balanced. Where you have challanges and not simply fighting the same type of character you are, just called something different and a different costume.
  12. It's a dress. Not a robe. If it was a robe it would be attached to the top, not a part you pull up over your legs when you put it on. LOL!!! How about a craft system where you can actually design your own armor or make changes to existing?
  13. WoW just kind of isn't my thing. Not sure why as I love Fantasy based games. Probably because I am an old PnP roleplayer with major DnD experience. WoW just does not have any real character/story meaning to me. But that is just me, so don't get your undies in an uproar that I do not like it. Just me, not saying it is bad. I enjoy this game because of the character choices. I would like to see a more character based creation system though. The only people who have EVER done that right are the creators of Heroes/Villians. I mean when I can actually adjust the characters nose! Also with the whole piece by small piece costume build, just makes all these look bad. I would like to see where if you craft armor, you can change its appearance also.
  14. Ah, makes sense on the medal hunters. I was wondering about that. Makes sense why you can not get a good "team" together.
