  1. Funny prospective. End game content is costly. We have a subscription model to fund development of end game content. We have a cash shop to fund server maintenance and end game content. We don't want to spend the money you paid us for that content. We want to lure in more subscribers with add-ons to the story or to back fill those unsatisfied with the pace or quality of the end game content we are providing. Or we've discovered that we can ignore end-game content as long as our story content out paces the subscriber drop rate produced by the failure to use the development money appropriately. Look, the model is simple. You get paid for the content you developed and people are willing to fund you money to add on to the content and let them play with other people. Adding to the existing story is good. You've extended the RPG component. However, you've taken in what 2014 estimates had you at $165 million. You have a parent company pocketing mega sums of money and not honoring the intent of that inbound money. If you don't spend the money to fund core aspects, like end game content and balancing that money stream is going to evaporate. Poof. It will be gone. Someone at EA/Bioware will cast blame on anything but a failure to deliver quality content to the consumer. If you want people to pay any ongoing money they need to see something of substance every twelve months at a minimum. If you cannot keep that pace the market will ensure you feel the financial pressure of that failure to met basic principals of the transaction.
  2. End game is a disaster right now. I cancelled and won't be back till end game is fixed. I don't care about Zakuul so another story focused on non-sense isn't capturing my dollars. I see no reason to ride out as a subscriber for zero new MMO content and a completely unbalanced pvp system. Hopefully they fix it, but I think its gone to far. They made a business decision and don't care how many threads you make. They are going to keep Zakuul the story focus. You'll get a single player story about the Jedi Knight class. If you don't find particular enjoyment in that class or story you have to decide what to do. The options are limited but their. I don't find them worth a sub fee to redo old stuff. Hopefully they are successful. At least that way their is a chance they craft something I want to play. Right now I am not entertained. So I'm going to move along.
  3. I tend to agree with small points of contention. The codex entries are not grey on the matter of Valkorian = Vitiate. They are explicit. Jedi are known to bend the truth. "From a certain point of view" is Obi Wan's answer to Luke about Vader. Lying doesn't seem to be counter to any code of force user. So yes its plausible we are misled on the two. But Valkorian tells Marr point blank that Zakuul was his focus. He says , "Darth Jadus, the best Sith my Empire ever produced, but still deeply flawed and no match for you." So having them correct this fundamental story issue with the twin isn't 100% always clear its far more reasonable than the split personalities and timeline issues I find between Valkorian and Vitiate. So maybe, but here goes what I think is really going to happen. The title gives away the plot device. A Dangerous Family Grows Stronger...... When Senya left you assume having only born 3 children. It is entirely plausible that she saw how Arcaan, Vexaan and Vailyn were raised and was pregnant with a 4th child. That her decision to leave was fostered by finding another pathway towards the light side of the force. That she feared for the 4th child. She attempts to leave with all her children, but cannot. Her disappearance could have been to birth her last child and leave it with some sort of monastery types. Force monks. Help her. Help raise the child. On some far away place the knights of zakuul had little watch over. Its were she is taking Arcaan now. To show him another pathway. She's attempting to save her children. How this plays out as it relates to Vailyn is unknown. Its my theory. I cannot tell if its a boy or girl, but I believe the mysterious figure and child to be Senya's 4th child with Valkorian. Keeping with central plot devices of Star Wars. Staying with the teaser.
  4. We saw Anakin pull off the finger sniping you'd expect to see Jedi use against Dooku. The wrist technique to disarm was a classic example of fighting without a guard. The other reason a light saber is so effective is the force gives a user a fighting technique that allows them when trained to effectively fight blind. A gun doesn't allow you to use the anticipatory nature of the force to parry. It also explains some of the difficulty and length of saber fights among force users. Trained sufficiently these users are anticipating the attacks instinctively and are not really fighting but channeling the force to guide their hands, feet, movements. We learn age aka a persons speed and skill are not really factors. The force is really moving the fighter so Yoda's age and fragility are not why he's so good. He's more attuned. He lost to a more attuned dark sider. Its why a lightsaber duel is preferred among force users. Its awareness and skill mixed with martial arts. Speed of processing this information and the forces guidance. Though I agree that weapons outside of swords offer similar displays of skill its nearly impossible to deflect a bullet. The physics of humans reaction timing don't allow such an action. It is super natural to do so and redirect that back. Let alone tackle a barrage of incoming fire. Why do Sith use lightsabers? A sith fears nothing. A jedi fears nothing. Opposite reasons, but both harness a super natural power. They use the weapon for fear. A jedi for inspiration. Leading a charge with a sword. Holding back an enemy with it. They change the nature of a battlefield. Its sort of like fighting with a god.
  5. This isn't true. Especially if you are the Jedi Knight and the story KOTFE is based upon. The Knight story which basically I assume is cannon for this new story goes like this.
  6. I understand what your premise is, but doesn't hold up as the codex and timelines for the childern. Valkorian's force philosophy according to the codex morphed prior to the Sith Invasion. The knights of zakuul and the entire century old society that Valkorian led are ancient and different than Vitiate's sith teachings and philosophy governing there force users. With the only consistent view is that Vitiate/Valkorian is above all. Emperor of the societies. Each society is structured with vastly different approaches to people and governing. Valkorian, Satele Shan and Marr lecture us about using the force differently. Yet we are expected to put aside that Vitiate was trying to consume all life on Yavin and Ziost to resurrect himself and that the Vitiate we meet earlier who articulates his grand plan to consume all life in the galaxy is also Valkorian. It doesn't hold up to much scrutiny. As to the rest of your points I agree. This story isn't much of a star wars classical story. It is barely star wars. It almost is a slap in the face to the original game. The Jedi and Sith conflict. Pft. Over. They got beat up by these "knights" of super amazing better force skills who are loyal to Valkorian, whose really the Sith Emperor and now is a little bit good because he found love and uses the force all better than you. Its not the new focus that is the issue with KOTFE. Its the writers. No matter how good they execute the cut scenes and acting the story is terrible. Its not vetted enough and doesn't have that iconic star wars good vs. evil soap opera style. Its got this entire emo aspect to it introduced to characters. Its gotten away from the theme of redemption and overcoming evil. Very powerful themes deep in star wars. Its gotten away from corruption of the good. Very powerful theme. Its scrapping internal conflict as a motivation to characters. Frankly, it also breaks with some serious social norms we accept. The concepts of good will eventually triumph over evil. You've got some writers who are not really authors working this story driven game. I think the developers should focus efforts on hiring more writers and focusing on writing if they are drifting away from content focus. The guy who can write an interesting flashpoint or operation is not necessarily equipped as a writer to develop major story. This is likely the cause as each chapter feels like a disjointed effort. They don't feel like interwoven story long drawn out and story boarded and vetted. With people sensitive to Star Wars at the table providing guidance and feedback that traditionally would follow a Lucas product.
  7. The items should have been BOE. I don't care if the packs were not sellable, but the junk you get should at least be able to be dumped on the GTN. I have no need 90% of the pack items as do I think most players.
  8. Do not log off in your stronghold. Even though its rare it happened to me. I had to have CS move the character to fleet and couldn't log onto one of my characters due to this bug.
  9. The problem with the Revan plot device is that if he learned to love that was prior to him as Vitiate being a massive toolbox even the Sith wanted gone. When Vitiate returns he is hell bent to destroy all life for a Sith Ritual to grant him this great power. He is a monster on Ziost. The whole plot device of "love" is astronomically weird. His idea of love with his children is really messed up. He's pitting his kids against each other for his affection and attention. His actions caused the death of one of his sons and the horrible disfigurement of another. His daughter is a murderous loon with no impulse controls. His loving skills are not very strong. I don't buy the loving angle much as its not very integrated into the whole story. It's the least fitting chapter with what they did to Satele Shan in that same chapter being a terrible move. Idealist don't give up. She's the type of character that typically dies for the idea and cause. This would be like Luke finding Yoda in the woods after watching the temple burn seeing dead younglings and being beaten by the Emperor and forced to dwell in a swamp being introduced and going to Luke, Yea, don't be a jedi. Use the dark side if you need to and kill Vader and the Emperor. They are jerks. Its what they did to Satele's character there that is the most disturbing writing. It's basics of being a writer that you understand the characters. She's the central glue of the Jedi Order who saved it after the Sith invasion. To have her abandon her order and philosophy and tell the last Knight of substance to abandon the ways of the jedi? I was like are you kidding? Keep the theories coming though as I like reading um.
  10. This is a simple thread acknowledging and thanking the cartel shop and stronghold people for rotating in the older packs. I was able to obtain an underworld bar, which I missed out on. Its also seen a drop in the prices for certificate items like bartenders, Jawa's and Twi'leks and a host of decorations that were not suppose to be rare. It's good that its benefited both the game and those who have wanted some older items and missed the purchasing window. Keep doing it. I am happy about the packs being rotated into the game and getting some decorations for my stronghold. Now if you could only get the group content team to put HM Bonus bosses at 100% drop rates for decorations again we'd be in a sweet place.
  11. Keeps throwing errors in the log on this travel pending nonsense trying to load in. Uninstall and full reinstall didn't work. A little annoyed to say the least. I deserve free time for this kind of non-sense. I cannot play this character? Glad its not a main, but it was the one I wanted to finish for the DvL event and cannot due to this bug. 2016-09-16T21:44:33.788886 02063738 DEBUG Area Disconnect, expected: true [Disconnect.firestorm.client.OmegaAreaObject](omegaareaobject.cpp:OmegaAreaObject::AreaDisconnect:216) 2016-09-16T21:44:33.789386 02063738 DEBUG TravelPending: stronghold_tatooine : 4611686351475197004 : 4611686351475197004 : 1 : \world\areas\4611686351475197004\area.dat [Firestorm.firestorm.OmegaWorldObject](omegaworldobject.cpp:OmegaWorldObject::TravelPending:274) 2016-09-16T21:44:34.624910 02063738 INFO [Client] Active area load complete [Client.AreaManager](bwaareamanager.cpp:bwa::AreaManager::_onActiveAreaLoadComplete:926) 2016-09-16T21:44:37.129383 02063738 DEBUG Area Disconnect, expected: true [Disconnect.firestorm.client.OmegaAreaObject](omegaareaobject.cpp:OmegaAreaObject::AreaDisconnect:216) 2016-09-16T21:44:37.129383 02063738 DEBUG TravelPending: stronghold_tatooine : 4611686351475197004 : 4611686351475197004 : 1 : \world\areas\4611686351475197004\area.dat [Firestorm.firestorm.OmegaWorldObject](omegaworldobject.cpp:OmegaWorldObject::TravelPending:274) 2016-09-16T21:44:38.960324 02063738 INFO [Client] Active area load complete [Client.AreaManager](bwaareamanager.cpp:bwa::AreaManager::_onActiveAreaLoadComplete:926) 2016-09-16T21:44:41.602944 02063738 DEBUG Area Disconnect, expected: true [Disconnect.firestorm.client.OmegaAreaObject](omegaareaobject.cpp:OmegaAreaObject::AreaDisconnect:216) 2016-09-16T21:44:41.603449 02063738 DEBUG TravelPending: stronghold_tatooine : 4611686351475197004 : 4611686351475197004 : 1 : \world\areas\4611686351475197004\area.dat [Firestorm.firestorm.OmegaWorldObject](omegaworldobject.cpp:OmegaWorldObject::TravelPending:274) 2016-09-16T21:44:42.865680 02063738 INFO [Client] Active area load complete [Client.AreaManager](bwaareamanager.cpp:bwa::AreaManager::_onActiveAreaLoadComplete:926) 2016-09-16T21:44:45.468464 02063738 DEBUG Area Disconnect, expected: true [Disconnect.firestorm.client.OmegaAreaObject](omegaareaobject.cpp:OmegaAreaObject::AreaDisconnect:216) 2016-09-16T21:44:45.468964 02063738 DEBUG TravelPending: stronghold_tatooine : 4611686351475197004 : 4611686351475197004 : 1 : \world\areas\4611686351475197004\area.dat [Firestorm.firestorm.OmegaWorldObject](omegaworldobject.cpp:OmegaWorldObject::TravelPending:274) 2016-09-16T21:44:47.312985 02063738 INFO [Client] Active area load complete [Client.AreaManager](bwaareamanager.cpp:bwa::AreaManager::_onActiveAreaLoadComplete:926)
  12. Good response. I'm inclined to your view of the whole plot of Valkorian being not the same and messing with us to an extent. Except the codex entries above especially around the wealth of Zakuul almost explicitly state they are the same "being" whatever that means. Which throws even my point below sort of out the window, but its my only rationale around the lines of being duped into believing Valkorian and Vitiate are the same. Even though they explicitly state the are in some of the codex. About the only explanation that makes any sense at this point is a twin of Vitiate. In the keeping of star wars usage of twin siblings and force users throughout the EU and original story. Or a clone of some sort. A familiar presense with insane power. Some rationale is overdue on some of these plot points.
  13. Revan got Vitiate to sign the peace treaty? Then he said, I alone can kill the Emperor had a spiritual breakup. Tried to resurrect Vitiate's spirit to kill it. Then found peace again and floated away to find Vitiate who was actually Valkorian the whole time? Again I don't see any of that in the text on Revan. Which is back to the entire point of people backfilling story to make some sense of the entire plot. So he was raising his kids, found love and was getting a lot more spiritual. Then remembered oh yea I need to destroy all life in the galaxy so he destroyed Ziost after attempting the same thing on Yavin. However, that wasn't for the reasons he stated. It was actually so he could return to Zakuul and let his idiot son kill him so he could have a force rape on our outlander spirit, so that we could somehow get rid of his 2 kids, which he's not really clear on what that means. I need you to kill my son and daughter, because of love. With some hidden agenda against our force spirit. See I spent all this time building Zakuul for no apparent reason. Galactic conquest? Oh no. I wasn't into that because you know, love. Then I was like cool, cool. Oh my son is here with the Outlander guy whose being f'ing with my plans in a variety of ways. As the Jedi Knight I know him really well. This being of immense insane power. Watches you walk up to him and know wants you to help him with these brats he fathered. Then lectures you on using the force. Who then they take Satele Shan, whose so devote a Jedi she gives up her own child to be a jedi and says. Yeah, she changed her mind and you should too! This Zakuul thing was a game freaking changer. She lost all faith because of it. She's now besties with Darth Marr, whose also gone from supreme Sith guy to I was wrong and everything I fought and died for is stupid. I am a huge fan of this game and the story. I love me some star wars. This kotfe story is terrible. If you like it fine, but I am Its a walking contradiction of a story with no theme or plot. If you can find one in this mess you feel free to clarify all of this nonsense of us, because I am unable to piece this thing together.
  14. When did he determine the Sith Empire was "flawed"? According to the codex it was prior to his Empire's return to the galaxy and invasion. It took over 100 years to construct the throne. Let alone the time to obtain god status on Zakuul. Or find and build the Eternal Fleet. How do you reconcile the "Childern of the Emperor" against Vitiate and Valkorian? So the Emperor required hosts. In the story he is declared "dead". His spirit vanquished. Only it really wasn't he was spiritually able to return from that death by consuming all life on Ziost and then fleeing. Now we go encounter him as Valkorian. Only to learn that he's been Valkorian for more than 1 lifetime. So he consumed all life on Ziost because he was just a general dick? Oh, he isn't darkside though right? He's found love on Zakuul. He's learned about both sides of the force. So what was Yavin and Ziost about? Because it makes no sense that if he wasn't spiritually trapped without a host that he needed some sith ritual to return to his Valkorian host. If that is a host. Who knows at this point because the story doesn't at all articulate how these two very different entities in conversation with your character are the same. When you speak with Viatiate through hosts his dialogue clearly shows he's hell bent on destroying the galaxy. If he's Valkorian at the same time this doesn't make sense as his motives don't work together. So you come off playing yavin, then Ziost and then you enter the outlander missions. Its very confusing at best to the participant in the story to understand. Let alone the rationale for having real childern of this version of the Emperor. So Valkorian is how old exactly? What is up with the aging of the kids compared to that? If this is the true sith Emperor he moved here while he was still constructing the sith empires formation. Meaning he did that through a host? Was he commuting? I mean come on. At some point they have to do a better job of explaining this other than. They said he's the same guy just go with it. That is your argument. Frankly, that is not even a codex entry or dialogue you posted. So its hyperpole mixed with some slice of story to make you feel better about the story. Again reading things not actually found in the story.
  15. So yeah, I don't know at this point what your talking about.
  16. You have utterly failed again to explain how in the codex the timelines of the two do not correspond and are attempting to self rationalize something that isn't explained in the text of the story. This is the behavior of someone reading things that are not in the text of the story to attempt to make sense of plot that doesn't work as a story. He's building for the revenge of the Sith against the Republic, while at the same time constructing an alternate empire, funneling money from the Sith Empire he's disappointed in over centuries. The reason is the failure of that empire before it even invades? Then he fails in love and has kids whose aging process in normal, while his as eternal emperor is centuries old and appears to be the same bodily form. He's trapped and not trapped. He's spent over 100 years on Zakuul or he's a spirit who was trapped on Yavin. When you start asking how he's able to co-exist in two places they are not explained. Its very simple. Vitiate and Valkorian can be "declared" to be the same person. A rationale exists they are using that internally to the writer works as a plot device. It doesn't mean anyone outside that room of writer(s) can reasonably agree that connective story thread actually holds up to any sort of mental scrutiny. The problem is very apparent to start the story for numerous classes whoever played the game. There is not enough interwoven back story that places the 2 people together as one person given all the intricate history that exists around the Sith Emperor/Vitiate. Its poorly executed writing that can be improved. They've gotten this feedback since day 1 of KOTFE from a wide range of players. They know how to improve it. Codex entries or story can clarify some of the issues. Disney is much looser than Lucas was on this sort of property. The writing was important to Lucas as was the historical accuracy of star wars to the fan, to an extent. The EU gets a little crazy, but generally Lucas wanted a consistent universe without alternatives like say a Marvel uses to justify odd things its writers do that don't mesh with historical context. I would like to see more care taken with the history and a focus on shoring up plot. If your all about story then the writing needs to be very well constructed, reviewed and uniform.
  17. Universal mk-2 and mk-3's. Pretty close math by my internal. Thank you for the details. I could always tell you do your homework on crafting. I run Rich Yield UT and Rich Yield Slicing. I can do an easy 1-2 million on materials and missions. Selling in small batches is my most lucrative method. Lots of 10 do well since people either cannot access a lot of credits or don't like to spend a lot if say they want to craft 1 Universal mk-2 and don't want to bother leveling archeology or investigation. Which I find crazy since level crafting skills now is a joke, but they still pay pretty good. I'll do 100 lots on the purples sometimes. I sell the blues in 1000 lots for a low price but at 1000 its like 500k at 500 per unit. I use the green dia... for my crafting harvesting of greens. I also will do a 100-500 run on green mats occassionally if I need them. Usually doing the heroics on like Voss or the dailies on Yavin get you bonus of credits and materials you need. You can make a mint harvesting on Odessen. Turn them into the green required and GTN those. They sell at a hefty margin compared to the materials costs. I find at least those sell good.
  18. So about 2 million grosses you between 1 and 4 million or you double you money. I understand. I think what the poster was saying is what I tend to feel. The materials I find sell for more than the items when appropriately done. So you can get a 50% margin on some crafted items. More depending, but I have a lot more stability and margin on materials. I find the return rate to be much higher then 50% for materials. The cost to harvest/acquire them is probably 10% of the sales price, leaving you with 90% margin. If I turn those mats into a product I have lost that margin. A rich yield mission on a high level companion while yield about 100 mats easily without botting. You are looking at something like 1-3 million on the mats if done appropriately. Cost to acquire those mats is maybe 100k. I take a little bit of issue with your math to a small extent in that you aren't really disclosing some time/costs in crafting. For the average player I recommend simply running UT and Slicing and selling the purple mats and missions. You'll come out ahead. I'm doing pretty good on the high end these days. Packs and Some rares are generating a big margin. I am not at your 500+ million mark, but I'll be getting closer to you soon enough.
  19. Its a giant plot hole. In fact, its a massive rift they really don't explain. If you read the entries on Zakuulan Wealth in your Codex a bunch of player theories are debunked. Valkorion is an ancient Sith entity with the power to possess and control the bodies of others, using them as puppets to enforce his will on the galaxy. -Codex. A past shrouded in secrets. A future clouded by uncertainty. It was believed that the once-and-former Sith Emperor sought to consume all life in the galaxy to grant him the dark power required to attain immortality... but is that still the case? Was it ever? Did he actually have another plan all along? The man now called Vitiate by those who once served him was not strong enough to usurp all life on Yavin 4 after his reawakening. However, he did gain power enough to flee the jungle moon and survive. Now that he has found in Ziost a suitable target to replenish himself--now that he appears to grow more powerful by the hour--what now? When will his unforgiving depletion of Ziost end? And when it does end, what fate will befall the rest of the galaxy? -Vitiate Codex Death of a World Global cataclysms are not unheard of. Whole worlds teeming with life have been rendered lifeless by meteorites, broken apart by instability in the planet's own core--even atomized by the destructive force of a supernova. But the eerie calm of a world stripped of life yet left otherwise intact is another matter altogether. Whispered rumors have persisted of planets snuffed out through intricate Sith rituals or by way of deadly, arcane machines--such as the device Revan sought to employ on Yavin 4--but Ziost represents a clear display of the corrosive power of the dark side of the Force taken to its extreme. The Eternal Throne The Eternal Throne sits at the top of a starscraper in the center of the Spire. Built by Valkorion over a century ago, the throne not only serves as the Immortal Emperor's seat of power, but is the key to activating and controlling the Eternal Fleet. Valkorion gathered the greatest minds in Zakuul for its construction, which took generations to complete. How and why the fleet responds only to the throne remains a mystery even to the Zakuulan people--only Valkorion and his children know the true answer. -Codex "To bring a society from oppressive tribalism into a glorious golden era requires significant funding. When Emperor Valkorion began his project, he funneled wealth from the Sith Empire into Zakuul, effectively robbing one empire to fund another. As Valkorion's grand society blossomed, the Eternal Empire turned its view outward, conquering planets and claiming their resources. Infants of all species taken before the Sith Emperor, the children are infused with the Emperor's strength, sharing some measure of his thoughts and power for the rest of their lives. They become the Emperor's eyes and ears, and--should the Emperor focus his presence upon them--his puppets. -Children of the Emperor Codex Every decision the Sith Emperor has made for the last millennium has been in the service of one dark goal: the complete annihilation of every living thing in the galaxy. The Emperor's desire is not destruction for its own sake, however. He is not a nihilist. The Emperor intends to feed on the galaxy's extinction and draw that energy into himself, giving him true immortality--and a godlike mastery of the Force. -The Emperor's Plan (Knight) Codex In another time, it might have been cause for celebration. It might have emboldened the Empire, breathing new life into their efforts to crush the Republic. But with the Sith Emperor's apparent reawakening comes the common knowledge that he is no longer interested in ruling over the galaxy. Instead, he seeks to consume it. The Empire's highest ranking officers and dignitaries are now in a state of heightened alert, and the Dark Council has assembled a contingent of powerful Sith seers to get a fix on the Emperor's presence. When he makes his move, it is believed he will not distinguish between former friend or foe, as they will all eventually become his food and none will remain. -The Emperor's Return Codex Before Valkorion's rise to power, Zakuul was a backwater planet in Wild Space with almost no contact with the rest of the galaxy. Forced to settle in bogs and swamps, early Zakuulans were a superstitious, nihilistic people who worshipped a pantheon of ruthless gods. These deities expressed their power through the pain and suffering of their followers. The pantheon's father was Izax, the god of death and the Ultimate Devourer. The ancient Zakuulans believed their fate was tied to the will of the gods and belonged to Izax. Those who challenged this view were considered demons. While most Demons were outcasts and expelled from society, a prophecy emerged claiming that one would climb beyond Izax's reach--an immortal god of gods who would topple the pantheon and usher in a new age for Zakuul. Claiming to be the Demon Savior of prophecy, Valkorion began his campaign against the Old Ways. The Voice of the Emperor (Warrior) For centuries, the Emperor's Voice has delivered the Sith leader's commandments to his servants. In fact, to converse with the Emperor's Voice is to have an audience with the Emperor himself, whose power and consciousness have been placed within the Voice's body. Although the audible voice never changes, the physical individual who does the speaking has assumed many forms--various accounts describe the Emperor's Voice as anyone from a young human female to an elderly full-blooded Sith male. Regardless of physical appearance, however, the Emperor's Voice can always be identified by its emotionless, precise and controlled manner of speaking. Some have privately described conversations with this entity as extremely disturbing; there is often the sense that the Emperor's Voice is listening to another conversation even when he or she is speaking. -Codex So I'm a little at a loss to explain the entire shifting of Valkorian and Vitiate from the Codex and descriptions around events and timeline of the galaxy. What bothers me is for a group that wants to be all about the story, you'd think they would take the time and effort it takes to write something that isn't full of inconsistencies. Maybe update things. Take the time to explain the galaxy so that people are not confused about the main antagonist in the story/plot. So he hated the Sith Empire over 100 years prior to our current date? That is prior to the invasion. He was funding war from the Sith Empire? That he is acting in complete different manners bothers you? Duh? It should because its like they took a completely different person and said. Same guy. When you point out this doesn't seem to make a lot of sense you will get the classic. Wait... More to come... It doesn't even work when they write the codex history. And they write it. How do you expect a participant/reader to take this? I mean come on.
  20. The classic rebuke made for bad story telling. It will make sense later. Just wait. Basic fundamentals like respect for timelines are not present in this story. Basic explanations for being in two locations at the same time are not present in this story. Absence or disrespect for the laws of natural order in a genre are not present. AKA dinosaurs mixed with humans. The character flaws, like your completely non-force using character being mysteriously granted force abilities (violates the "Star Wars Cannon"). We have so many instances of abusive behavior against what makes Star Wars the genre. We have introductions to non-sensical cannon story. The Eternal Empire conquers the galaxy. Wow! Never heard that before today. Must have been pretty amazing. Nope. They showed up with a super fleet and took it over in under 5 years. Oh and the Jedi Order? All but gone. Sith? Gone. You can pretend they didn't tell that story, but they did. They took the Yoda equal in this period and had her tell you eh... use the darkside. Its cool. You had a darth show up and go.... meh I was wrong... be good. You have had a variety of laziness. The return of the Sith it was 28 years before they went from Korriban to the treaty of coruscant. The Eternal Empire, apparently the mightiest force ever conquered it in under 5 years and subjugated the Republic and Sith. I mean all you have to do is watch the trailers and read the history on this site to see the original story tellers care and pain staking efforts to create an immersive experience in the Old Republic Era that would set the stage for the Jedi and Sith conflict. To build upon that rich story would have been intelligent. To simply scrap it and go another direction? Ok. However, to even pretend they bothered taking care of the historical context to this and provide a rich history and deepth is absurd. You might be able to convince yourself of this, but I am not for 1 second buying this notion that they took even remotely close to the effort they should have and cared for the Star Wars Genre and Franchise. To say this is epic story telling like the first 8 chapters is a bold statement. Its not even close and really does undermind the original stories, which are pretty fantastic stories that are long and epic tales interwoven together. This story was written at a bar over drinks and finished when they smoke pot. "Oh man this is epic brah!!!" Was heard at their writers meeting. No its not. It sucks. Write some star wars content that holds your previous writers jock at least.
  21. This game needs content. Content. Content. Its bleeding subscribers because it lacks new content. I'm out once my DvL is done. I'm slow, but I am seeing the same drying with the GTN. Its getting arid. It needs content. New or old people are paying for content. If you want subscribers give them something for the subscription.
  22. In the words of the Gree: This is blue perpendicular. To achieve red convex you need to explain why you've been subbed for 2 year then and aren't having fun and/or being challenged? If you are subbed now why?
  23. Aggregated reviews and customer feedback and falling populations support the fact that a "majority of reviewers and players don't find KOTFE to be 'good' content". It has a falling support base and I'd suspect it isn't polling in the right direction with the community. This despite its features and enhancements to streamline gameplay and big cinematics. 24. The valuation on a variety of items makes no sense. Its a pet peeve of mine when it comes to the marketplace. For instance, the sale price on crafted 220 gear. It doesn't make a lot of sense to me when you look at the materials cost, but that has been crafting in this game for a while. The mats used to make items sell for more than the final good. Then I look at the pricing for Universal MK-2, and Universal MK-3. I constantly see MK-2 for more than Mk-3 and the underworld missions are double runs at mat lvl 4/5. Its got some oddities in a market. Stupid things I profit on. Selling 4 mats for 27,500 each at the start of the week because of the Odessen droid mission yields a huge margin over someone buying the 100 lot of the mats for under 10k each. People just make really odd decisions with credits. I don't even craft at this point as I see next to no credit benefit from assembling the materials into the item. The amount of people who don't harvest is astonishing to me. While playing the game running underworld trading and slicing harvesting missions will return you an abundance of mats. How these mats are not worth 1k per unit is astonishing to me. We should have a gut of purple mats if people bothered with it. Right now even if you were a cheapskate. 10k per mat x3 is 30k per critical. With your level 50 companion alone that is 300,000 every 10 crits. Multiple that across someone with 6 companions and you are generating 1.8 million in a matter of about 1 hours time. The lack of trying accounts for being broke. Or the lack of using a calculator. Its not hard to find margin in the GTN of huge varieties. I just laid out 2 obvious instances where you can get a bank roll. Frankly, you just need a basic bankroll in the game and can get stupid rich. The general F2P player is capped out at 350k per. The basic math tells you they cannot afford 100 item stacks of materials over 3,500 per unit. Nor are they willing to go to literal zero. Decorations, materials, stims, items that you can sell between 100-300k will sell to the F2P as they simply lack the ability to spend more. You can make a mint. Then target the high-end with a reasonable strategy around packs. Enhancing your credits isn't rocket science. To the original posters point. Botting is a problem. Its been around in various forms. I am surprised they bot yavin and not Odessen. The Odessen boxes are higher level and just as frequent and easy to harvest. You can yield 1000 mats in about 1-2 hours just running spot to spot. I do this with slicing and get like 500k and 1000 mats for crafting. Hopefully they do away with bots some how. If you run. UT, Scavenging, slicing on an alt you can crush it on Odessen.
  25. Video game developers are known for being very loose with plot integrity. Usually someone at the studio and with responsibility for the brand/license try and keep some rains on video game story tellers because its more important then just this single game. EA is a terrible company in that regard. Having seen what is been allowed with this expansion as it relates to Star Wars lore and mythology I wouldn't grant them a single license to produce any content. They don't honor the story and plot. They just fly off the handle with the story and don't care as long as it looks and sounds "cool". They don't care if this should be resolved and a majority of people keep asking for them to step it up in the writing department. That cost money 'brah'. The EP on this is probably doing rails off his assistants jugs while his half tard cousin writes this story and he's too busy to give a crap and rubber stamps hot garbage for a story and calls it a day. Doesn't bother to take it serious. Doesn't honor star wars. Yet will brag hard on girls about his inflated job pay and title as it relates to this game. Disgraceful.
