  1. *GASP* My bubble hath been popped... CURSE!!!! I actually was hoping I was right. Regardless, much thanks for filling this one in.
  2. I'm not sure when it happened, but last night, we noticed some rather large black boxes on the Republic fleet, scattered throughout the outer ring. The first one I noticed was right in front of the Light Side vendor. It looks like those massive boxes used to haul equipment at concerts. Anywho, they weren't there the other day, now they are there. Has anyone else noticed these? Are they part of some grand scheme? Will this be the start of a new World Event? I'm just speculating, but it is strange that these seemingly useless boxes appeared out of nowhere. Regardless, I still have some rakghoul serum in stock.
  3. If you completely disband the guild (meaning the guild no longer exists) on the origin server, then reform on the new server and submit a ticket or request to customer service inquiring about a guild bank transfer, your guild should receive your bank's previous structure (aka all tabs without any items or credits). However, I have not heard any who has actually completed this process. There is a group of us who have been waiting days without any response. Feel free to post here and check back to see if anyone has a status update on this. Would also be good to start consolidating threads into a single one.
  4. A simple way to view this is as such: would you prefer them to rush everything so that everyone who complains on the forums is temporarily satisfied, but with the very high probability of things going horribly wrong? Or would you prefer them to slowly roll everything out, fixing encountered bugs as they go along so that every successive transfer runs that much better? The answer is pretty simple. We've been playing this long, I don't think another week or two is going to kill anyone. As for mergers, do you have any idea how incredibly complicated mergers are compared with transfers? These forums are littered with people who do nothing but complain. I think BioWare has done an incredible job. Yeah, the game ain't perfect, but few are and MMOs never are, but they have responded rather quickly to major issues and concerns. The reason we're in this position in the first place is because people complained and yelled, then BioWare did a good thing to try and remedy that issue by creating more servers... I'd say it's ironic, but that would be claiming that I'm surprised that the same people who cried foul play when servers were full are the same ones that are sobbing because they haven't been picked to move to a more crowded server.
  5. While I think there were some obvious issues that should have been resolved before launch, I agree that BioWare seems to be having an incredible turn-around with fixes. As each day has gone by, I've noticed a lesser frequency with the same errors I was getting before. Of course, there are some new ones, but thos are definitely minor in comparrison to what I had to deal with before. Keep in mind that an MMO is never a finished product. I'm happy and impressed.
  6. I agree with the commendations comment, slightly. I only buy gear via the commendations, but I find that the mods aren't as good as the crafted mods/armorning. I only know this because I do Cybertech, so I see all of these stats and compare them on a daily basis. That being said, there is some truth to what the OP says: why swap out your orange gear for crafted blue gear? From a selfish standpoint, it doesn't affect me too much because I craft all those great mods/armorings/etc., so I can still sell those off. The hard part here is that the idea of orange gear is a good one: like how it looks, then keep it and level it up with mods. It definitely does cause some problems for crafters of that gear. However, I wonder if we'll ever come accross gear that out-specs an orange pieces...
  7. Yes, that is correct. I was only using it as an example. What I said in my original posting was simply my thoughts on how messed up the market is right now. I see items put in for way under what they should be. I'm also not trying to setup some type of scheme, as one poster suggested. I'm just noting that the market is incredibly unstable because not enough attention has been given to thinking out pricings when putting items up for sale. It was never my intention to start saying "Look at me! I'm right! Base everything off of me!" It was more to start a discussion on how to balance it all out.
  8. No, I do not have slicing. I have Underworld Trading and Scavenging. Like I said, I'm a loot whore. I loot and sell everything and don't buy gear unless it's from commendation vendors.
  9. I don't believe that to be correct. I remember having several thousand credits saved up when I hit level 10. Then again, I'm a loot whore. Also, an epic lvl 10 beats a normal lvl 14. Just my oppinion.
  10. The Galactic Trade Network (GTN) is the economy of SWTOR. It's the focual point of all inter-player trade. You need something? Go to the GTN and see if someone is selling. The problem is that, as of now, it is the most unstable aspect of the game... and we're in charge of the painful task of building a stable GTN through proper pricing. By this point, there should be many players in either faction which have crew skills up to a disarable enough level to begin flooding the GTN with items. While that has just barely begun to happen, I've noticed a huge issue with the pricing: how much does what go for? Fair and reasonable pricing needs to be taken into consideration when selling an item. How much did it cost for you to obtain the item being sold? How much has it cost you to raise the skill to get to the said item? And how much of a profit should you make for providing a service to the people who now need said item, but do not have the skill set to obtain that item? Let's use a purple UT Level 1 grade metal bar as an example. Level 1 UT metal missions run around 100 credits (give or take 20c). To get an additional item beyond what the mission should normally get takes between 4-6 attemps on that level (if you are still trying to rank up to the next tier). Simple math shows that it cost you, as the skill set owner, about 400-600c just to get maybe 1 bar (sometimes more) of that rare metal. Why would you sell it in the GTN for only 150c?! You're losing money by doing that. I sold 5 bars for 4,000c. Steep? A little, but take into consideration what goes in to obtaining that bar. There are failed missions, missions that don't produce the item, and then take into account that it is rare and that people need it. Also, you don't have the option to do a mission for just that metal in order to rank up. You need to go looking for fabrics or companion gifts before it shows up as an option again, and those missiosn cost credits. On the flip side, why would you sell the same bar for 10,000c? That isn't even close to reasonable. You are obviously trying to take advantage of someone's needs, and that just makes things worse. How the hell is someone who is unknowing of how the GTN should work supposed to use your price as a scale to figure out what to sell their mats for? Now people may still complain that 1,000c for a single bar is too expensive. Let's then take a look at what is being constructed which requires that bar: and epic item at that level. What is an epic item? Stop playing if you are asking that question, lol. Seriously, people: and epic item is awesome for that level and it requires a lot to put together. Usually you won't come across those unless you are running heroics. Epic items require epic mats, and epics mats take a lot to get, hence the raised price. Lastly, let's not forget what the market is about: profit. You create a sale because you want to make a profit, one definitely greater than what those chump NPCs will buy it for. In sum, I believe that it is going to take a few months before the GTN can even come close to being considered stable. Until then, let's try to be reasonable about the pricing. If you just randomly throw mats in there at an absurdly low price, you're screwing up the system and will be making it that much harder to get the GTN to a normal and balanced level. For those of you that want to try and rip people off: I would love to say "go for it because no one will buy it," but the fact is that you too will be affecting the elasticity of the market. Some may say "deal with it," but we're in charge of stablizing it, so we need to be more responsible and get this thing rolling properlly instead of continuing to watch it swirl around in an eddy of confusion. While this is just a game, the GTN is very much like a real-world market and operates as thus. Maybe I'm being too big of a nerd/dork/geek about this, but I love working the markets and it frustrates me to see it is such a disarray with poorly chosen prices. I never try to rip people off and always try to offer a decent price for the services provided. Likewise, I always try to take into account what the seller went through in order to justify the price he/she is selling the unit at. I will now step off my soap box. I look forward to hearing people suggestions, comments, concerns, questions, and debates; but let's leave nerd-raging out of it.
  11. Yes, but it really depends on what people are doing and where. I've put cloth up there and have seen results with searches. The problem right now is that the GTN is very new. Because of that, people don't know what to sell, for how much, and when to. The GTN is the economy of the game, and we're in charge of the painful task of starting it. I think it is going to be a couple of months before everything starts to level out before being called stable. That being said, I don't think we can expect to see needed items on a regular basis.
  12. That is not true. I have found my own showing up.
  13. I actually want to start a separate post about this, but I'll begin here. The problem you are experiencing is the issue I currently have with the GTN: it's planet-specific. I would think that a "Galatic" trading network would be Galactic-wide, meaning accross the entire galaxy. I'm finding this is not the case. I placed a bunch of stuff on the fleet GTN and it doesn't show up on Nar Shaddaa, and vice versa. This does 2 things: (1) it makes it near impossible to successfully sell things are a reasonable price because people are currently just throwing crap in there dirt cheap; and (2) it makes searching for things incredibly hard because you have to hope that someone on that planet decided to put what you need up for auction on that planet. Again, this require it's own separate thread. I'll post the link here when I create it.
  14. Just got my email, I'm in!!! Registered 08.13, for those wondering what the date ranges are. See you all inside. My the force be with you! (I'm such a dork)
  15. I did the same thing, man. Bought it in July, but didn't register until August 13
