  1. Your only basic attack is Strike. By raising basic accuracy above 100% the only thing you're doing is making Strike and your offhand hit more, which are both a DPS loss as opposed to putting those points into Surge. Your special attack accuracy will be@110%, which counters the deflect/dodge chance on mobs.
  2. You should have never had 110% basic melee accuracy in the 1st place.
  3. Well I have to say, get a full group of 55s with some gear and this is pretty easy Just under 3 hours for clear tonight.
  4. It takes roughly 400 accuracy with the 3% talent to get 100% accuracy. With over 2500 strength and a 419 crit rating I'm still only sitting@25% crit chance. I think I will keep my crit rating around this mark, and aim for Underworld Ear and Implants with crit on them, +2 crit crystals and the rest of my mods/enhancements going for power to achieve this.
  5. This. In order to avoid using a Rage builder in a Gore window consider using Double Saber Throw or saving your VT proc for a window where you'll potentially be resource starved.
  6. Focus doesn't need to run out and leap. They get free Blade Storm after Zealous Leap also and don't have a Focus management issue to need to do so.
  7. It really isn't difficult at all to see. It is slightly behind Vigilance in sustained single target, yes. But look@S&V. Almost every boss in there has a stop DPS on the boss and burst down adds phase and that's where specs like Focus shine. I've said this plenty of times, this isn't a Sentinel question. With Sentinels it's clear, Focus is behind both Watchman and Combat to the tune of over 100 DPS easily, if not 200 DPS. For Guardians though, Focus is about 50-75 DPS behind on a single target sustained fight (i.e. no burst phases). When all classes can do over 2k DPS now that's a 2%-3% difference in perfect world conditions unlike the 5%-10% difference for Sentinels.
  8. Definitely use Blade Storm. The key to Focus is to save some big hitters for directly after Force Sweep because of the damage buff in the new tree. Otherwise you're ignoring the potential for a 7k sweep followed by a 4-5k Blade Storm. If you follow that with a Master Strike you'll do over 20k damage in 6 seconds to a single target.
  9. No, because Dispatch has the same chance to reset the Cauterize CD as Merciless Slash does in 2.0
  10. Couple of things - If Opportune Strike procs, ALWAYS use Blade Storm. Because Blade Storm will auto crit and returns 1 focus, it has priority over dispatch with that proc up. - One opener I've been messing around with is to use your OOC regen to build 30 centering and then: Leap Zealous Precision (pop berserk) 3x Massacre If Opportune - Blade Storm If no Opportune but HoJ - Dispatch If neither - Massacre This opener will usually force the HoJ proc AND has just enough Focus to let me immediately transition to: Precision Master Strike Blade Storm, Dispatch, or Massacre depending on condition
  11. Totally possible. I can parse around 2100 on the dummy in Rage with a mix of gear like that. I'll parse slightly higher in Vengeance if the procs go my way.
  12. I needed close to 400 accuracy rating to get to 99.5% with a 3% accuracy talent. Should only need about 200 with the talent and the 3% from Ataru form. Avoid alacrity. You can't stack it enough to provide a real benefit
  13. It's tough to say. The 2.0 DPS thread had parses for Combat and Watchman but the Watchman parsers were geared better. What I will say is Combat is such a pain in the *** right now it's not fun to play IMO. So there's that.
  14. Yeah, the thing is I'm not sure values like that are attainable in the current gear. The stat pool just didn't increase by that much.
  15. Be aware, as soon as you ding 51 the return values on your stats change. My Juggernaut would sit@180 accuracy which with the 3% talent + 1% from companion was 99.7% accuracy. That same accuracy rating@level 55 is now only 96.5% accuracy. Likewise, 420 surge rating, which used to give me 78.6% surge doesn't even give me 75% anymore. So not only do I not have 75% surge as is, I still have to drop some surge to increase my accuracy.
  16. Time vs. reward. The reward is simply not worth the time investment.
  17. This simply wasn't true pre 2.0 For starters, survivability is not something you really discuss for an Ops build. You have healers, they do their job. If your healers aren't up to the task, fine, but at the end of the day that's really their fault. Most Marauders flat out ignore their 30% AoE damage reduction. DPS specs take DPS talents, point blank. Also, I linked Mauull's parse. 50 DPS behind single target and MASSIVELY ahead if there's any AoE. Combined with its ease of play, Rage was the superior spec 90+% of the time pre 2.0. You guys are arguing your personal love of the spec and not the actual mechanics. I prefer Vengeance too, and am likely switching back to my Jugg in 2.0 but that doesn't change the argument any.
  18. I'm probably switching back to my Juggernaut or my Sniper in 2.0 because Carnage, while still phenomenal DPS, is just not very fun to play in my experience so far.
  19. Each stack of shockwave, when talented, increases smash damage by 33.33% Surge on Force abilities has been reduced from 30% to 15%, but it affects all abilities now.
  20. I'm only making the case that Carnage is way more difficult than Arsenal Mercs, Hybrid Sorcs, and Pyro PTs. It's one of the tougher DPS specs to play because of the reliance on really knowing the fights to perform well. MM Snipers have a similar issue because movement hoses them more than other snipers. As for Engineering, stop playing that spec outside of PVP
  21. ^ These numbers aren't exact because they take an Exotech stim into account. Pre-stim the Power/Crit pool is 1108, so the closest you can get is 868 Power and 240 Crit. Also, those numbers assume a +3% to accuracy, which only Carnage Marauders or Annihilation Marauders that don't spec 31/3/7 will have. Other than those nitpicks, nice work *edit* Tinkering around on AMR I was able to get close to those numbers by going 839 power and 269 crit, which with stim will be 891 power. Takes using Hazmat Ear and Implants with crit, and 1 crit crystal.
  22. Yeah, your bonus damage will be ever so slightly higher while your crit chance will suffer. The additional 1+% of crit chance is better than 5 bonus damage mathematically. And the part where you said your DPS is higher with max power is the "anecdotal evidence".
  23. Hizoka is wrong about a lot, this isn't one of those times. You're mathematically incorrect, and anecdotal evidence won't change that.
  24. Come on now, you're seriously downplaying some stuff to force a point here. Yeah, in EC Kephess is the only fight you can hose a Gore window in reliably. In TfB though? Writhing Horror, as mentioned, and you lose the time while he's burrowing plus the time back to FC in so you'll be lucky to get 1 good attack off. Dread Guard. Ciphas leaps to target for Choke and you hit Gore right before. Hosed. Operator IX. Duh. Kephess the Undying. Half this fight is movement which isn't a huge deal. This 1 doesn't have as many ways to wreck a Gore window randomly. The TfB. Gore, oh crap Slam. Hosed. So the best Carnage Marauders (which I'll again point out are few for this reason) need to have a better knowledge of the fights and their CDs than many other classes in the game especially those 3 specs mentioned. Since so much of Carnage DPS is packed into that 4.5s window having to use a suboptimal attack is a loss, having to potentially do it more than once is a big loss. Hell if you just look@torparse you'll see there's not too many Carnage Marauders representing in the top 50. The most consistent name you'll come across that runs Carnage is... me. If it were as easy to play as Pyro, Merc, or Hybrid Sorc you'd see a TON more. (and I'm just looking at 16m HM/NiM because we're talking about difficult content right?)
