  1. I agree, however gsf was a failure at basically launch. Bio just wants money and gsf doesn't make it for them. I highly doubt we will see anything new done for this small community we have.
  2. I had a blast during the event. Won some and lost some, most games were very fair and even. Thank you all for coming. Did the drawing the for two big prizes tonight and grats to Siraka for winning the K-59 Strongarm GS and Jams for winning the Onslaught bomber. I'm slowly contacting the other winners of the event and passing out prizes!
  3. There are two in the same day. One in the afternoon for the EU people and one in the evening for US and APAC. The one in the evening is from 10pmest-1amest. There have been more random nongsf prizes donated by Rose.
  4. Wow somehow I missed this topic when it was posted. Now several months later, I'll revisit it. The original question was basically what would I rather have happen to me. It honestly depends because I'm not a "noob", but I remember some of my learning moments and how things felt for me. When I was a noob, I very much couldn't comprehend why I was getting "one shot" (tag team, DO, no upgrades), why can't I kill the turrets (the targeting reticle being grey not red), why can't I take the node (somebody else under it), why can't my side keep a node (not knowing the objective, not staying to guard, getting killed by the stronger team). I think these questions are what are going through the mind of a new player. Ok, now I'm veteran, known by MANY people on different servers and my usual viewpoint on this. I condone the "pity" node as it is now called, but have my team keep pressure on it. It teaches the opposition how to defend. If my team takes the node and we 3 cap them, I request they leave it so the other team can take it back. This doesn't always work, but most of the time it does. To answer the question as veteran pilot on mastered ships- 3 cap me and get the match done with! I hate being 3 capped as much as the nooblings (thanks Ramalina for that lovely new word), but I at least understand why it's happening. I had one match in the last two week against mostly nooblings. My team 3 capped and we left C shortly after the start of the match. The opposing team picked up C, stuck a tick on it and we couldn't get it back (fine). With the tick on C, they kept attacking A and eventually took it from us. By this point, we only needed one node to win and we let them it as a reward. People mention splitting teams and going to the opposite faction. My groups do that. We didn't in the past, but recently we have started doing this. Generally speaking, my group will do 3-4 matches one side or the other and go from there. Lastnight and the night before this happened. I had a group of 4 and 2 of us went to the opposite faction after 3 roflestomps. The other two kept queuing against us for a few matches, then we called it a night. An epic match happened against Rose. My team ended up winning (due to somebody dropping and us getting a better pilot) 1000/994. It started off with my team being 3 capped and I told Rose, just get this over with, but I kept assaulting one of the nodes and took it. There was no pity node or going easy on each other. We both play to win. Back to the topic though, I'm really on the fence. Personally, I want the match over with ASAP, so just 3 cap me. I also remember what it was like to be noob though and take it easy on them and allow the pity node.
  5. With the LdV event also going on, there will be a fair share of non upgraded ships flying. So built ships or no, I think this will be fun. I had a blast last time.
  6. Of course you can use mumble. I'll try to make the event as well.
  7. Making an additional event that same day to cater to the NA and APAC people. In the US evening, from say 9pmcst-12amcst. I have something I'm doing between 6pmcst and 9pmcst, so won't make the first part of the second half. Again, if you want to be entered into the contest for the prize boxes, credits and an additional secret prize, let me know.
  8. Free to play get bonus req, just not as much.
  9. I've tried to stay out of this topic. Made a post or two, but nothing major. Out of these past two weeks, I have been on main pilots toons twice (once each side so I guess four times). The only reason I even brought mastered ships to the playing table was because people in my guilds or /gsf were saying the opposite faction were on mastered. Once each week to get my weeklies done, the rest of the time I have been leveling lowbie toons for the lvd event. On those lvd event toons, I have done a few flights on each one to assist in leveling and getting my intro quest done. In fact, just a few days ago, I think Thu, the imps were saying, "the pubs are stronger. need back up". So I finished what I was doing on my lowbie and brought out Six. I gathered up the person saying this and two others from guild to fly against the strong pubs. You know what? We never saw them. We did three or four flights on big imps and broke the group up. Two of us went pub side to "even" things. We flew against the other two we had just been against plus other people from Gone Sithing. So where the idea comes from that "I" or the people I usually group with have been roflestomping during this event is wrong. We have actively NOT been flying during the event on big ships.
  10. As I pointed out to Redfantom yesterday, there will be an issue with getting the word out to the "noobs". Many of them have no knowledge of /gsf or even this forum. As the event gets closer, I would just suggest to make a comment in /ops about it and get attention that way. If the "noobs" really want to get better, then ask them to whisper you or something.
  11. An additional 20 GSF boxes have been thrown into the prizes. So now there's 30 boxes (15 each side) and 500k as prizes. If there aren't enough people participating, then the boxes will be held until the next event. Thank you again, Brian
  12. Just a couple days ago, I did the intro quest on a toon I made up for the DvL event. I had two other people with me doing the same thing. We got a Denon and ended up just rolling the other team. Both teams consisted of new ships and no names that I was familiar with. So to say that "gear" in ships matters is a mistake. There have also been multiple stock events on different servers that say the same thing. Not saying "gear" doesn't matter at all though is also wrong. If eight new ships are against eight mastered ships, then the fight might go differently. However, it's usually pilot skill that makes the difference.
  13. I agree with Roland. There's not going to be many people that even take the event that far and those that do, only have five flights needed across the entire thing. It's not like they have to master full hangers or anything.
  14. Which server are you flying on? Even upgraded ships can get killed in one or two shots depending on the situation. My pilots have mastered ships and I get killed easily. To my there's not much difference in survivability between mastered and non mastered ships. The difference is in the weapons and engine upgrades, those are the big ones when it comes to living longer.
  15. Ok that would be cool too. So five packs and 500k each side.
  16. I've never given out prizes for an event before, but ten of the Starfighter packs have been donated for this event. Thank you for donating these, Brian. Being the one hosting the event, I will exclude myself from any of the prizes. There will be five packs given out randomly on each faction, but I need a list of those taking part in this event. You can either message me on the forum or send me an ingame mail on Sixofone imp and Lucklessa on pub side. I will keep a list of names and post the winners after the event. After the names have been posted, I will pass the prizes to the winners.
  17. Event: Super Serious Solo Queue Date: July 30, 2016 Where: Harbinger Time 3pm EST-6pm EST and later in the day 10pm-1amest Faction: Either one Last event held on Harbinger was in the afternoon so more EU people could join easily and several showed up, so the next event is going to happen at the end of July. On the 30th, please join us on Harbinger for a Super Serious solo queue event. The only requirement is you have to queue solo and not be grouped with anybody. I would like to see both factions involved. More likely, I will be imp side, but depending on who queues where, may go pub. Might be a little late to add this now, but there will be a second part to this in the evening to include the NA and APAC people. I plan to run this from 10pm-1am est. There are more prizes involved now.
  18. Thank you for putting the event on. Though very few pubs were involved, I had fun. Looking forward to the next event you guys can host.
  19. What Premade Cheater? My w/l to is almost the same on my main two pilots there. Both are right around 75%.
  20. I agree with Sriia. The only servers I still consistently get pops are Red Eclipse and Harbinger. Then again, I've pretty much given up flying on most other servers. Red Eclipse is an EU server and pops pretty steady during US day time. It dies off there late afternoon/early evening and picks up again in the middle of the US night. Harbinger used to have pops steady any time of the day/night, but has slowed considerably during US afternoon. It is also difficult, at times, to get a solo queue pop and group queue is almost needed. You can still get one or two matches there an hour in the afternoon though. Mornings have almost always been slow, but maybe a match an hour. Best bet if you're wanting to fly during the US day is make a toon on Red Eclipse and if you're looking for US evening pops, then Harbinger.
  21. I haven't been doing as much flying around on the NA servers as most of my imp side ones have been moved to Harbinger. The reason I did that was because the pops have become so rare on most other servers. Waiting hours in queue doing nothing isn't something I like doing. If you still want to get a pop on TEH, it'll start about the time it dies off on TRE and go for just a few hours. Monday's, since it isn't a conquest day are even slower. You might get one match an hour (if you're lucky). Not sure if that's still the case, but it's been that way most of this year. I've pretty much given up on flying around on other NA servers.
  22. Grats, Tilia I'll let you know when I get there on Six. Across the game though, I have close to 8k matches as well, but so many alts. On my most flown toon, I have just over 2k...maybe 2200 or so.
  23. I use a Razor Nostromo for gaming. There's an option to rebind all keys for movement and skills. My mouse is used for direction, aim and fire. Agreed on the pve aspect. There needs to be something new to the game as a whole, not just gsf. Why get rid of gearing ships though? You have to gear your pvp and pve toons and then tweak said gear. Think of it as the same for the ships. Here though you don't have as many variables and has been pointed out, when the level cap raises, you don't need to worry about regearing your ships. They are already geared. Another question, why delete gunships? In my opinion (not that it really counts) is that they are best suited to deal with the bombers. There are four types of classes in pve-tank, mdps, rdps and heals...think of the gs as your ranged dps. There are four types of ships-scout, sf, bomber and gs. Hey, perfect mix.
