  1. Hey everyone. First, lets get those comments I did't write up clear, and then onto the story. Comments Prompt: Blech!--How you Get So Big Eating Food of This Kind? 2. Hey everyone, I’m back. No comments this time, I’m in a rush (I’ll add them in this evening) Here we have another multi part story, one I’ve been trying to express for the better part of a month. (I will get around to finishing off some of my other multi-parters eventually, honest) Prompt: who?, What a wonderful smell you’ve discovered Title: A Warden’s duties - Discovery Perspective: Cierra, Infiltration Shadow Word Count: Spoilers: General Tython spoilers mention of ACT I JK spoiler
  3. Hey everyone, it’s not the awaited Torian/Gault talk, but it’s something for this week’s prompt. This time, I'm making sure it gets in before the new one, even if it makes me late. Comments Prompt: Sound, House of Something Title: The Dark Temple Perspective: Kaina’zul’anon, mercenary Word Count: 2,158 Spoilers: DK dark temple spoilers, SW and BH class missions for the area as well.
  4. Hey everyone, I'm not banned yet. Gah, this was meant to send this morning. better late than never. Replies Comments What's more, I have a story, and it contains . Prompt: Sight Title: A steward of Ziost Perspective: Eirue, Ziosti Stewardess (file under Braca please) Word Count 768 Spoilers: None Chronology: about 4 ATC Warning! Terrible poetry within Notes
  5. Replies Comments For this week, I have two stories that fit the current prompt. I would have posted the second one when I first wrote it on Saturday, but I've delayed it because of its content. I had thought to use the first story as the only one for this prompt, but I've since reconsidered. I've given it appropriate warnings, so you have the choice whether you wish to read it or not. Prompt: I Dare You, Something Borrowed, Alternate Perspectives, Follow the Leader (see inspiration) Title: Sith Hunters Perspective: Cassiopeia Calrissian and Caimon (C-C-C-Combo!) Alaurin: Word Count: 1,364 and 3,094 Spoilers: General Kaas spoilers, tangentially a Kaas City side quest Something Borrowed Inspiration – all from this forum, so possible implied spoilers for ‘She who Hunts Monsters’ and ‘Trouble, Destiny and other Complications’ And now, onto the story Notes Prompt: I Dare You, The morning After, Language, Culture Shock Title: Teenagers Perspective: Kaina’zul’anon Word Count: 1,498 Spoilers: references to Bounty Hunter Quesh. Timeline ACT II, a short while after Quesh but before Hoth. Warning - contains nudity and an act of a sexual nature near the start. This has been separately spoilered. I read through the forum rules of conduct and didn’t see anything against it, but if anyone wants anything taken out, I’ll do so. this is the one you might want to skip. Notes
  6. EDIT: After reading through these stories, I've edited them into a semblance of quality. Pretty much all of the content is unchanged, though I've added a little here and there, to set up the intended atmospheres and make them more believable. I've also split the Vanguard's grave into The Vanguard and Grave of a Jedi, as the tones of the two pieces jarred. Hey again, thought I had another week before Father's day. As such, I blitzed through most of the former and all of the latter today. Best laid plans, huh. Anyway... comments - contains act I SI spoilers Okay, here is the first of three stories. As you may have guessed, it follows Noctaire in her search for her husband and their kidnapped son. The first two pieces, Failure and Finishing up are both up in the story archive. Prompt(s): Cleanliness, Technology, the Sound of Silence Title: The Vanguard Perspective: Noctaire Word Count: 1,146 Spoilers: None Contains nudity Sacrifice, Technology, Xenobiology, Luminous Beings Title: Grave of a Jedi Perspective: Noctaire Word Count: 2,547 Spoilers: None Contains nudity this next story is one I planned to post on Father's day, which I thought was next week for some reason. Prompt: Children, Parenthood, Father’s Day Title: Waking a Sleeping Jetii Perspective: Tarmin, a Jedi Knight Word Count: 2,093 Spoilers: None Notes
  7. Hey again, I've got another backlog of stories to post. Rather than firing them all off one by one, I'll just post the two that correspond with the current prompts and the one that follows immediately after. I'll leave the rest for when I've checked through and edited them. First though, comments. Coments Here is the first story. It contains a few darker moments and possibly some gore, though I do not view it as suficient to warrant warnings. If you feel I'm wrong, please point out in the comments. Without positive criticism, I don't know where the problems are and thus can't fix them. Don't worry, you'll never say anything worse than what I've told myself at one point or another. Prompt: Dreams and Nightmares, Loneliness and Solitude Title: The Price of Power Perspective: Roan, Kid Sith; Vette, Twi’lek Adventurer Word Count: 1,651 Spoilers: minor Black Talon, minor Korriban And here is the second and third. They follow one after the other, with only walking down a flight of stairs and into the dining room. Before anyone asks, yes, this is my Kaas stronghold. If anyone wants, they can view it on the Progenitor. I think it's public, but might have to check that. Prompt: Best Buddies, (Un)invited Guests Title: Evening Plans Perspective: Lord Braca of the sphere of Biotic Science Word Count: 1,046 Spoilers: important early act I SI spoilers and finally, the third story. This one mentions a darker side of the Sith power structure, with a slightly more sexual bent than other characters. It arises from a thought experiment I had with a friend regarding the eventual and somewhat self-imposed extinction of the Pureblood 'species' and ways they might mitigate this. There is nothing in the scene, it's just implied. Prompt: Health, Cuisine, Description Title: Her Master’s Servant Perspective: Lord Braca of the sphere of Biotic Science Word Count: 1,381 Spoilers: None Chronology: After Evening Plans but before First Encounters Oh, and before I forget. Happy Solstice everyone.
  8. @Diviciacus (sorry, writing this on my phone so I can't check how your name is spelt): Language is context sensitive in prose. Here is how I do it: I can't speak for anyone else and could be wrong. If everyone speaks the language, just use boolean symbols around the words. For example "<Hi, My name is Jabba and I have an eating disorder.>" Just make sure you mention which language you use beforehand so the reader can imagine it. If the character doesn't understand the language or if you want to hide what's being said from the audience for some reason (irrelevance or to not spoil things), you can use a foreign language or dead one. Just be aware that some people can understand them. For example, Vesanirae used latin for ancient Sith, while I use ancient Greek. These are personal preferences and there are online translators for them (can't vouch for quality though ). I believe NervousheroA uses a slavic root language for hir Sith, but I could be wrong. Failing that, you could just do as Lucas instructed Hayden Christian in Attack of the Clones (no Autocorrect, not conservatives) for his Huttese: just make it sound unlike any other language. Hope this helps.
  9. Hi, just a quick fly-by posting. I was inspired by the prompt (which is probably how I'm supposed to be doing this ) Comment @Jamangsawesome: I like their plan, and its new evolution. Prompt: You were the chosen one, Behind the scenes, Something borrowed Title: Selection Perspective: None, this is in third person. Word Count: 480 Spoilers: None For Alaurin: For ease of filing, please mark this under Caimon. Thank you for maintaining the archive. It must be exhausting but it's really helpful. Something Borrowed prompt inspiration
  10. I'll admit I passed this one over when I first read it (a JK/scourge romance fic that isn't 'Remi the Grey' and raises questions about why the Republic would allow a war criminal into the property market of their still recovering capitol), but I've since come back and D*mn! From Zale to Relnex to D. Marr, everyone's believable, it's tightly written, leaving you wanting to read more, and yet allows enough of the next chapter in the subtext to tantalise without spoiling. I especially liked the children, and how they helped Lia heal, up until reality crashed a death star of NOPE! into that plan. As for now, I like the spin on a falling knight story. She's not falling because she is caught up in pride or rage, or tempted by forbidden knowledge: she''s falling from despair and burdened with knowledge. As an aside, Arkous and Harkon share a voice actor, which made his obsession with Lia additionally amusing from a meta-perspective given your SI in the short-fic thread. As for the clone, I'm going to sound cruel, but it might've been for the best. Even in Palpatine's time, they couldn't clone Jedi, mentally stable ones at least (Just look ad Joruus C'boath in the thrawn trilogy). Still, just because a young Sith is crazy doesn't mean they should be put down. They can live perfectly normal lives... okay, mostly normal lives, for the Sith: they just need the right companions. For my two pence on shipping, I'm all for the Lana/Theron ship. As for Lia, there's a whole galaxy out there to pick from, assuming she needs/wants someone, but perhaps she should go for the Wrath: the current one, not the r@pey immortal. Also, don't worry about a few cookies. To get Baras' figure, one would need to drink litres of melted cookie dough ice cream for several weeks and even then, according to the game engine, a BT4 women just look like 'real women' (as in the statistical average build, not a term to belittle women who aren't in the standard deviation of the societal build bell curve [aka 'too' fat or thin] by implying they are somehow fake [and at this point I'm over-explaining trying to not offend people so I'll just shut up]). Speaking of dead Sith powerful to be on the dark council, what about Baras? He's always shrouded in secrecy and plotting something. Also, *something* made him gain a lot of weight between the treaty of Coruscant and the start of the game. Grief perhaps? Just a wild guess to mess with Evil! Scourge.
  11. Hi again, Comments I also have a story. Finally, a continuation on the Noctaire/Tarmin front, sort of. I'm writing the next part, but one bit (you'll probably recognise it when it's finally released) keeps kicking my arse. Prompt: Life has no reset button, the droids you’re looking for Title Life has no reset button (I originally had a different title for this, but the prompt sounds way better. Does that count as something borrowed ) Perspective: Noctaire Word Count: 2,063 Spoilers: None Continuity: Immediately after Finishing Up
  12. @Jamangsawesome: Replies @Feldraeth: Where I Come From: I probably should’ve researched Miraluka a bit more, but I didn’t have a specific homeworld in mind, just somewhere invaded by Sith. Balmorra, maybe? Didn't mean that. I was just a little surprised she wasn't from the usual places. Her family could have been settlers or refugees following Nihilus' attack, the same way Aric Jorgan, a Cathar (no Autocorrect, not a Catholic) is from the human dominated Rendili. Comments: @Feldraeth: Wow, I feel dumb. When you kept calling Roan a kid, I didn’t realize you meant a kid. This gets more interesting by the minute. Also, nice job writing Elara. You really captured the way she thinks. Thanks, I should probably stop assuming people have read 6 month old posts and give important info, like that. Roan is an 10-11 year old mostly-human male. He isn't the Sith Warrior, instead ambushing the 'real' one, a total DS5 scumbag who was tormenting Vette, in the Tomb of Naga Sadow and 'freeing' Vette. Haven't gone into the why though. As for the story, I liked it, especially the non lethal conclusion. Aside from one, I don't remember any written SW who don't value their crew (Leserbas' s Malicreve for those interested [pardon the poor spelling], even if it is their sole redeeming feature. I've also concluded that Vette is the best way to distract and ultimately best the SW. Perhaps I'll write up and post that exchange. No new story this time, but I think I get a free pass considering yesterday
  13. Did anyone know these posts have a 50,000 word limit? Here's the third story I planned to write. As you might have suspected, it's a bit long, hence I've split it into three sections. I wrote it because I thought it would be hilarious. Prompt: Family, Worlds colliding, Health Title: Nar Shaddaa: Reunion by Proxy Character: Sergeant Elara Dorne, Havoc Squad Medical Corpsman Word Count: 6,044, split into three parts, 2,282, 1,494 and 2,268 Spoilers: Mention of Nar Shaddaa Trooper and the planetary side quest 2,282 1,494 2,268
  14. Hey again, I'm back. Replies Comments I have a few stories this time, some long on standby and finally finished writing them. Others are slightly more appropriate for recent prompts (I know there's no such thing as an inappropriate prompt, but I'm trying to stay a little current ) Prompt: From a certain point of view Titles: In with the New Character Lord Braca of the sphere of Biotic Science Word Count: 3,049 Chronology: Immediately after the Black Talon Spoilers, mention of the Black Talon and nothing in game aside from very general Kaas city spoilers Notes This one is a bit more prompt relevant, though it is based on Balmorra, not Kaas. I thought I'd try a more script like approach this time. Not too pleased with how it turned out, but it's certainly shorter than my usual fare. Prompt: Words, words, words Title: Completing Balmorra Perspective: Vette, Twi’lek adventurer Word Count: 813 Spoilers: SW Balmorra, mention of late stage Balmorra planetary questline I wrote this piece because it amused me and I like writing combat (who would've guessed). This piece takes place on Nar Shaddaa, as the title suggests.
  15. Hi everyone. Not sure how many comments I'll be able to post before I run out of power, but here goes. Comments Hope I covered everyone and everything. As always, I have a story. This one is a bit longer than others I’ve written. I considered splitting it into two and then into three pieces, but the hacks didn’t really stand out on their own. It also fits the current prompt by happy coincidence. Prompt: NotLP: Forever may it dominate your destiny, Technology, Health, Lost and found Title: A debt of freedom Perspective: Vette, Twi’lek adventurer Word Count: 5,036 Spoilers: Black Talon climax And here’s another one I wrote this morning. I was inspired by all these agent stories (and I’m sure playing ME2 again, this time as an infiltrator, helped). She’s not the agent -I’ve already tentatively introduced him in An Imperial Welcome part II- just an agent. Prompt: Introductions Title: Lethality Character: Trill, espionage agent Word count: 1,221 <- how palindromic Spoilers: none, maybe general info about Hutta
  16. Okay, so real life just happened. Sorry for the involuntary lurking, hope I didn't miss much... oh come on! NervousheroA, Jamangsawesome, welcome both of you. I've already read through a few of your stories, but my internet isn't yet up and running so only what I can download on my phone. I'll give comments in the near future, sorry. I liked everything, all for different reasons. Fentas, welcome back. Mirdthestrill, thanks for clarifying. Like I said, I assumed it wasn't the case but something like that could change the whole context of the scene. It also helps develop Mallena and Feyte, but you probably already knew all this. Sorry, no comments this time. I'm about to get kicked out of starbucks and lose internet, but I have a story. (who knew that no internet and evenings free works wonders on writing.) Prompt: Over your head, Technology, Culture Shock Title: Reaching the General Perspective: Mako, the Bounty Hunter’s daughter Spoilers: Black Talon Climax Word Count: 1585
  17. Hey everyone, I've got a trio of stories to post. the first I started writing a few weeks ago but got sidetracked with a Fistful of Credits (not like that hasn't happened before. Tarmin's only been floating without air for what, two months?). I've had an interesting couple of days and needed to relax. Anyway, onto the comments Comments Prompt: Mistaken Identity, Boring Conversation Anyway Title: Uppity Imperials Perspective: Vette: Twi’lek adventurer Word Count: 1,304 Spoilers: Early Black Talon The next one more or less follows from that story and is the most recently written, as seen from the prompts. Prompt: Technology, Fitness, Dance Title: Waiting in Hyperspace Perspective: Mako, the Bounty Hunter’s Daughter Word Count: 2336 Spoilers: Black Talon spoilers Finally, I wrote the third of these stories halfway through last week, when I needed to relax. I'm unsure as to which prompt best fits it, since it's pretty much just combat. The ones I've used fit in name, if not in spirit. Quick note, it is combat, so it's fairly violent and one of the kills could be considered as brutal. Prompt: Allies, First Day on the Job, Luminous Beings Title: Taking the Hanger Perspective: Roan, Kid Sith Word Count: 2,378 Spoilers: minor mid Black Talon Warning: contains violence, peril, bloodless gore and brief mention of a head exploding Wow, in total 6018 words (don't worry that's lower than DSM's A-77 aftermath story, and that was all one piece)
  18. Comments: Prompt: Paranoia, Technology, Canned Response, Superstition Title: The Ghost of the Desert: Return to the Watch post Perspective: Kaina’zul’anon, Mercenary Word Count: 2341 Spoilers: Imperial Tatooine planetary quests, mention to BH Tatooine quest, and a side quest
  19. Hi again, Comments Prompt: Mysteries, Title: The Ghost of the Desert: Observations and Analysis Perspective: Kaina’zul’anon, Mercenary Word Count: 2,817 Spoilers: Imperial Tatooine planetary quests, mention to BH Tatooine quest, and a side quest Notes
  20. Hi again, it's me. I didn't really like how the last story came out (a fortnight between original concept and writing tends to bleed ideas. who knew ) so I wrote a new one for the Incongruity prompt. The incongruity is a little meta, but it still fits. If not, it more or less fits the technology prompt. Prompt: Incongruity, Technology, Health, Title: The Ghost of the Desert: A Fistful of Contracts Character: Kaina’zul’anon, Mercenary; Mako, The Bounty hunter’s daughter Word Count: 2,439 Spoilers: BH Tatooine, Imperial Tatooine and two late-stage side-missions Notes with BH Tatooine Spoilers
  21. Sorry it’s late, I’ve not really felt like writing for the last fortnight or so, not since I heard the news. Jeremy Clarkson left One Direction… no, Sir Terry Pratchett died. Anyway, I’m back and with a new story to boot (not that I post when I don’t have a story) but first, some comments. Comments Prompt: Incongruity Title: A Lord’s Chambers Perspective: Braca Word Count: 1,871 Spoilers: Minor SI spoilers
  22. Comments: Prompt: What about that guy, Behind the scenes, Filling in plot holes Title: Making the Call Perspective: Lieutenant Sylas Spoilers: setup for the Black Talon Word count: 684 Notes: EDIT: Kilran has lost his large gossamer wings and light addiction, now that I’ve fixed his title as Grand Moff. Stupid Autocorrect
  23. Comments I started writing this a few weeks ago, but I sort of lost the will to write for a bit and kept delaying and doing other things. In that regard this piece fits this week's new prompt, and I'm obviously not rationalising about how I missed last week's propaganda. Prompt: Culture Shock, Food, (Un) Invited Guests, Propaganda, Who? Title: The Top Deck Perspective: Roan Word Count: 3,889 Spoilers: Name drops from Dromund Kaas, the Black Talon, the Imperial Agent Advanced Class quest-giver Notes
  24. Comments: @Striges: I enjoyed Tika's Impetuousness and the understanding that the cookie-cutter training approach doesn't work on atypical students. reply spoilered for length. Also, contains spoilers for characterisation that I think I've implied previously but can't remember for certain. @Mirdthestrill: You can really feel Jessasi's pain and frustration throughout the piece. Great characterisation! Also, another reason why Twi'leks should get hoods or at least non-clippping helmets. Lekku are highly sensitive and erogenous zones. It makes sense to keep them protected. @Osetto: I liked Osk's simple workman-like style, especially when contrasted with the 'kill it with fire' or 'spam everything' styles that are IO (formerly known as Pyrotech) and Arsenal Mercs. Anyway, on to the story Prompt: If I were a Rich Man, Religious Differences, Do the Math: Percentiles Title: Finishing Up Perspective: Noctaire Word Count: 2015 Spoilers: None Set immediately after Failure
  25. Hi everyone, Wasn't sure whether I'd be back, but Frauzet convinced me to post for a little while longer: at least until Magdalene tells me to FOaD. I wrote this a couple of days ago, and was going to use it as a a farewell for when I'm told to go. I'm not going to comment on stories any more, at least not unless I have something I feel really should be said. If I haven't commented, it isn't because I disliked it; I just don't have anything to say or I'm back to lurking again. @MrTwo: Commiserations on losing your story. I know what that's like. I liked the symbolism of the markings and the purpose the fetch quest served: it wouldn't be the same to just buy the paint for something so personal. Worst Day Ever, Goodbyes Title: Failure Perspective: Tarmin, a Jedi Knight, not the HoT Word Count: 2,362 Spoilers: None This is set shortly before the treaty of Coruscant
