  1. So I shouldn't stay on the forums if I like the game? That makes no sence even with a warning about people who rant away. I thought the forum was for every player and every opinion?
  2. Instant action does not equal fluid experience. The combat system in WoW, after more than five years as a warrior, hunter, mage and.. well.. death knight, feels almost robotic. The combat is tic tac tic tac, with set combinations, and unless you are pvping or in a very well made instance, you are mostly standing still while fighting (or kiting). By comparison I find SWTOR, with an equal responsiveness, but more intuitive (at least to me) combat a lot more fluid. It is also faster paced.
  3. If we all agreed on it, then why are we having a discussion? It is obvious the player-base is split on this issue.
  4. How is having a different experience and actually an enjoyable one converting me, as a writer, into a fundamentalist? By simply disagreeing, or saying I feel WoW is stagnant, I'm a fanatic? I'm a computer game realist. I write what I feel about games, not how I feel about the companies. Learn the difference. I could now say I think you are a WoW fanatic, without any true cause for doing so. I'm not going to do so. I simply think SWTOR as a game isn't as flawed as OP wants it to be, and I think WoW is less great than other people do, having had a different experience. This in no way makes me a religious BioWarist.
  5. Yes I do. I do not need to see the video's of people who might have a bad connection, or a slow line, or who are downloading in the background. I know how I experience the game might differ from how other experience it. I've only had smooth combat. It has -never- been unresponsive. Only times an ability hasn't fired off when I wanted it to, is when I already had an other attack going. The moment I hit an ability key, the ability fires. No lag. In WoW, its stagnant. Sure, you press buttons and things happen. But the combat feels static. I played the game for more than five years. It's no less or more instant than SWTOR, but its a lot less fluid all the same.
  6. Well, I did compare the game to a lot more games than only World of Warcraft, didn't I? I mentioned a whole bunch of games. And I disagree with you. We -have- smooth, fluid and amazingly fun combat. It's Warcraft's combat that is slow and unresponsive by comparison, not The Old Republic.
  7. I have no problem with my abilities, my combat works faultless and non-stop. The only problem is if one fights by button smashing. Then the ability you want to fire off won't fire off because an other ability is firing off. Controlled and calm ability usage on the other hand lets this be an epic and lag-less experience. Also, not to be rude, but I find it difficult to agree with you OP, since all the threads you have started have a negative point of view. It sounds like you haven't even wanted to give the game a chance, nor that anything done to improve the game will ever be enough for you. Honestly, I find this game to be of good quality and execution. The only nag I have are the somewhat rough graphics when it comes to level of detail. Beyond that this game plays better than or equal to most other mmo's I have tried, including games such as EverQuest 2, Lord of the Rings Online, Warhammer Online, Vanguard: Saga of Heroes, World of Warcraft and so on. I've played other mmo's as well, but they are not easily comparable, such as Wizard 101, EVE Online and Star Trek Online. To be blunt, Star Wars: The Old Republic has had a relatively smooth launch, with little or nothing to note on server quality (except the queues the first couple of days) and few if any server crashes. There has been the occational bug and I crashed to desktop once, but only once. And for a brand new MMO freshly launched this is very, very good. Most MMO's have a lot rougher launches than this. Anyone remember World of Warcraft when it was fresh and new and devilishly bugged with missing item graphics, cubes and developer-face icons? The Old Republic has had a stirling start with only minor problems. And as for the notion that they aren't listening? They are giving us guildbanks! That they listen doesn't mean they do 100% of what we say, or even 50% or 25%. They might only do 10% or 5%, but that means they listen. Listening isn't the same as agreeing to what we say. Only reading it, thinking and evaluation our opinion and then doing what they think is best for the game. I have no doubt they actually listen.
  8. I also know of a character customization vendor on Taris. He is in the Cantina.
