  1. This. So much this. When this happens I usually groan and instantly know the game is a loss.
  2. It's more like how many DAYS does it take to pug the daily. And I thought the patch yesterday was supposed to fix some problems, not make them worse. First game tonight I join a Warzone in progress. Huttball. Our team is winning but there are a couple from the other team camping out at our spawn point. Now I should mention that I'm a Healing Sorc. Yea. Getting farmed right out of the force field was really fun. /sarcasm. Barely got my 1 medal... and that was only by bubbling myself and running over a active fire pit. But still, it's 1 medal. Supposed to be the new minimum right? Managed 60k-ish healing once I finally made it past the two campers and the game ends with a win. ZERO Valor. ZERO Commendations. ZERO Credits and ZERO XP. ***??? Two games later, another Huttball, PuG (My team) vs. a Premade. We get roffle stomped Horribly 6-0 in short order. Still manage 100k healing and 2 medals somehow... Game ends... ZEROS ACROSS THE BOARD! To hell with this. /quit game.
  3. No it doesn't. You don't lose credits for a loss and you don't lose commendations either. There are no repair costs associated with Warzones. There is absolutely ZERO cost to pvp and you NEVER lose credits/commendations for losing. What YOU believe is that the 'cost' is the purchase and use of Stims and other consumables that are wholly voluntary. You 'lost' credits on those the instant you bought them from the GTN. Not because you died in a losing Warzone. Your account wasn't deducted at that point, it was the second you clicked buy. This would also be apparent if you NEVER got another Warzone que (( just for arguments sake )). You lost the credits the instant you bought them and never used them since the que never popped again. Again, there is ZERO cost to pvp. ZERO. Everything you use is voluntary and isn't a requirement to pvp.
  4. Dear OP. Thicker skin. You need some. The theory that all you do is PvP 100% of the time is false because you had to pve 1-10 at least in order to be able to join any warzones. Open your eyes. Broaden your horizons. Be THANKFUL that companies add in events and other 'fluff' content on ocassion else this game and any others that don't will become boring and stale really really fast. As was already stated in a previous thread... Don't like it, go jump off into the chasm on Fleet. Die and then as soon as you respawn, go hide in your ship. Cut yourself off from all contact with any and all people unless you are in a Warzone. There are many ways to RP. You can just RP a Hermit. Albet a Violent Hermet hellbent on destroying other people. Whatever works. Mainly though... Thicker skin. You need some.
  5. Sounds like you rolled on a PvP server and PvP happened. This is the risk you take when rolling on a PvP server. Especially when you have people with the thought process of "If it's red it's dead." But what you also fail to understand is that the plague on Tatooine does not cover the whole dang planet. It is concentrated in about 4 small local areas. Avoid those areas and you avoid the plague seekers.
  6. Except the moment you engage in pvp combat all healing effects and abilities are reduced by 30%. Lets just say you have enough expertise to gain a 20% bonus. As it stands today, a Healer with that same gear, has a 10% bonus. DPS'er hits for 120% and Healer heals for 110%? Right? Wrong. Trauma. Since Trauma only hits Healers and healing effects.... The DPS'er is still hitting at 120% and the Healer is healing at 80%. A 40% difference. And it only gets worse as the gear gap increases and it wont start to close until all DPS'ers are in BiS and all Healers, if any are left, can start purchasing their gear, 15 - 20 warzone commendations at a time for constantly losing.
  7. WoW was worse when it came to PvE objectives in a PvP battleground. Go do your AV now in WoW. Rush with everyone else to the other sides boss and then complain that no one stopped to destroy the towers on the way up. Yea... I remember so many AV's where the only time I saw the opposing team was as we passed each other in the 'middle'.
  8. First thing I'd do is remove the Trauma debuff. Actually, I think some of the problems with balancing is that you have a complex system and making multiple changes at once alters the system too much, especially in systems where so much rides on the 'if this then that' mechanic.
  9. Wish I got 73 commendations for a loss...
  10. Well this is fun. 1. Join a Warzone already in progress. Didn't even have time to pump out 75k healing. Warzone ends. ZEROs across the board. 2. Next Warzone starts with our team having 5 people. Other side has 8. It's a Voidstar. We get roffle stomped and can't even get to the doors. By some freak of nature we get the first door and the time runs out. Round 2, other team plows through the door, pops the bridge, game ends. ZERO's across the board. So tell me, why even do this crap? I gritted my teeth and popped bottles of aspirin to get to Valor Rank 60 about a month ago. Now I'm sitting here wondering if I should change my name to Free Valor For You. Better question... What incentive do *I* have to keep a active subscription until this is fixed? Follow-up question... IS this system going to be fixed and if so, HOW?
  11. I've played 1 warzone today as my 50 Sorc. Healer. 250k-ish healing done. Next highest Healer was 110k. 11 medals. 4 MVP votes. 85 Commendations earned in a win in the new Warzone. Probably a fluke because I had a tank stick guard on me AND stayed with me the entire time. This was in a PuG too! Since you might ask anyways... Valor Rank 60. Full Champion Gear minus moddable bracers and lightsaber. Not 1 piece of BM gear or Recruit gear. 556 expertise total. I will grant you that it was just one warzone and the true test will come tonight when I get home. But overall, I didn't die in 1/2 a second. I was able to heal and keep group members up, mostly. I did miss... a lot... the ability to drop my 2.3 second cast heal to 1.3 seconds, but instead threw out more AoE heals, Hots, Innervates and the small heal (whatever it's name is). The amount of 'bubbles' thrown was about the same. Always when the target isn't de-ionized. Just a snapshot, but in that one, it wasn't so bad. Though to be honest, I'm going to cringe when I get a Huttball. I really can't stand that map. I struggle in Huttball.

    1.2 fail

Is the game really playable? Still downloading the patch.
  13. And the crystal ball told you this? If you are going to vote a company WORST of the year you can onloy go on what HAS happened so far. What has happened is that only 3 months of the year had passed. All that other stuff you speculate about HASN'T happened. Might not happen. How would you feel if tomorrow at work the company announced who was the BEST employee of 2012? How can you be the best/worst in a year when the year is only 1/4 old. Besides, that consumerist website? If it is so relevant and trustworthy... how come a vast majority of people have never heard of it? Again... let me spell it out for you. THE YEAR IS ONLY 1/4 DONE.
  14. EA worst company in 2012. *looks at the calendar* It's only April. That 'article' was posted near the beginning of April when the year was barely 1/4 done. There is your joke. There is no possible way to declare a company worst or even best for AN ENTIRE YEAR when that year is only 3 months old.
  15. This is Bioware's first time at the MMO dance and they are having to re-invent the wheel, so to speak. Their first try worked until it didn't work. Ilum was a bust and had to be removed until it can be reworked into something better. A set commendation price for Centurion gear established a set rate at which you aquired the gear. The only variable was your success/failure in the warzones. Champion gear also had a set price but the method of getting the currency was different. 7 tokens per bag. Wasn't much but at least you know that in order to buy a item that cost 67 tokens it'd take 10 bags. Randomness was thrown into the mix with the unassembled champion pieces. Interesting concept to be sure but I'd be more times then not by the time you got a unassembled whatever, you already had that items and it became a letdown of sorts. This needed changing. Battlemaster gear and the aquiring of it might have been good in theory but as with most theories, sucked in reality. First there was the Valor Rank requirement to even qualify to start working on getting it and then... the low chance of getting BM tokens was abmissally depressing for those who never got lucky with lady luck. It had to change. Now we come to this system. This system tries to alleviate some of the issues that cropped up with the previous system. First among these was the gear gap between fresh 50's and 50's that had 'been there and done that'. The fresh 50's were getting destroyed. This was not a good thing. This was not fun, especially for the fresh 50's and had the very REAL possibility of driving people away from PvP or worse, TOR. So this system introduces a way for the fresh 50 (or fresh 50 alt) to enter PvP and not get destroyed. However, it's not like you suddenly hit 50 and "You've got mail!" you instantly have a full set of PvP gear. No, you have to buy it at a cost estimated around 320,000 credits. Not everyone arrives at 50 with that kind of cash because not everyone has a rich 'main' with 5 million or more credits available. But the recruit is just something to get started and hopefully ensure that new 50's don't get destroyed constantly and become discouraged by yet another gear gap in PvP. Now with the cost CURRENTLY of the new War Hero sets, at least there is a COST and you can see the progress towards getting PvP stuff. Removed is the randomness and dismal drop rates that were the BM bags. Also removed are the Valor Rank required so that someone isn't sitting at Recruit gear, maxed comms but unable to be able to purchase an item because they are Valor Rank whatever. Is this system perfect? No. Is it better then what we had yesterday? Probably. Is it grindy? Yes! But so was the last system. Is there RNG involved? No. It is progress and the costs can be adjusted after a time of seeing how things are working in the LIVE game instead of a PTS and internal 'Theory'.
  16. If Trauma is still in the game and my healing output is neutered by 30% then all those numbers mean jack. If I can't drop my big heal to 1.3 seconds instead of 2.3 seconds, give or take alacrity rating, then those numbers mean jack because I'll be instantly interrupted anyways. It's great that you've taken the time to graph all that out and in theory, it's neat, but Theory doesn't exist in live Warzones. I can't 'blow all my cooldowns' all the time whenever someone decides I need to die and doesn't suffer from ADHD. I mad bro? No... I cynical.

    Marking Healers

And this right here is why I quit playing a healer. It's not because I'm always guarded and have some protection, it's because I NEVER have it. 3 tanks in a Voidstar and they all three threw guards on DPS'ers... even the tank that was guarding the door with me, until he left to go get medals on the other side and then 2 stealthers blew me up instantly and planted the bomb on the door.

    1.2 tomorrow?

    Soon. Meaning sometime next year.
  19. I had to look it up. Definition of FRATRICIDE 1 : one that murders or kills his or her own brother or sister or an individual (as a countryman) having a relationship like that of a brother or sister
  20. So it is freakin horrible yet you had a ton of fun there on your main and still have fun there on your alt? Which is it? Freakin Horrible or a Ton of fun? Oh, and in that hour, how many times did you try to communicate with things like, "Fight on the doors, don't get lured away." or "Mark <player name> (s)he is the healer!"
  21. In order to enforce a hard cap like that you would have to have done that at game launch. But even then it still only enforces overall population balance. Not pvp'er population balance. One thing that might be possible now would be to offer free transfers WITH faction swaps from 'dead' servers to 'not dead yet' servers. Because lets say you have a server that has 1000 people on it at max primetime. 900 of those people are Imperials and 100 are Republics. It wouldn't do much good if Bioware offered free transfers to them to a server that had a population of 3000 people where 2500 were Imperials and 500 were Republics. You'd still have the same issue as before, but now the server has 4k people instead of 3k and the numbers are 3400 Imperials and 600 Republics.
  22. What if there are a lot of servers where the overall population is within 3% of each other but one side has 70% pvp'ers and the other side has 5%? Maybe when we get cross-server warzones this won't be a problem as much as it is now, but always remember one thing... You can't force people to play for one side or the other. Give the game time. It isn't even 4 months old. Just from personal experience I've already seen some migration from Imperials to Republics on the server I play on. Shoot, even I am playing a Republic now. So nice to get Voidstar and Civil War 95% of the time where as on Empire side is was 95% Huttball.
  23. Most tanks I see throw their guards on ranged DPS'ers. Then again I usually join the que solo as I'm a off-hours player. I've seen it on 50's and in the 10 - 49 bracket. I stopped asking for a guard because I got tired of being told, "Just heal us, we got this."
  24. Same faction Voidstar and Civil War will be treated as a 'training simulation'.
  25. Even if Warzones only awarded 1 experience point per match, you could level 10 - 50 by only doing Warzones. It'd take forever, but you could do it. Same as how you could level by only doing space missions once you get your ship.
