  1. I'm going to express doubt that you know a couple hundred odd developers and what characters they play.
  2. This is a problem. Shadow tank who doesn't stealth and doesn't call incaps? I've had those. Commando who left his node unguarded because he was 'needed' elsewhere? Yep. Sentinel who stood by the node while it was being capped, ignoring the messages in general, didn't react after it was capped, and then sprang to life after I'd ran to the node, found the stealther, and started fighting him? Yeah, I had him on my team. Gunslinger who guarded the node by standing in front of it, not even crouched, got killed by an assassin, and then demanded to know who left her alone? I've met her as well. That said, I feel sorry for good node guards. You type in chat that 5 people are headed to snow and maybe one teammate leaves mid to assist.

    Depending on the time of day, I get a full team within 30 seconds or only six people and that one dude who is still zoning in when the game starts after a minute and a half.
  4. I think it was a joke post. I mean, he says Republic class abilities outnumber Imperial ones 3-1. That suggests he's being less than serious.

Despite what people on the board believe, balancing a group of ACs for both PvP and PvE while giving them a wide range of abilities and trying to keep them different from one another is not easy. For example, look at commandos and vanguards in PvP and PvE. DPS Commandos are good in PvE but lackluster in PvP, DPS Vanguards are good in PvP and lackluster in PvE. Both of them need a buff and both of them will be imbalanced if buffed. I think it's more likely that PvP is not a high priority, so they only have a small group that works on it among a group that isn't that big to begin with. Now you're being silly. Yes, they play their own game.
  6. A Guardian who complains about Mercenaries is not the most compelling speaker when it comes to class balance, so I'd just drop that tangent. In your opinion, in the current meta, what is the AC best suited to taking down a Guardian?
  7. Can you be more specific? I'm not seeing much of a reason someone to prefer a tank shadow over a vanguard/guardian for tanking, or a DPS shadow for guarding and stealth capping. Actually, do you have any videos of well played shadow/assassin tanks?

  10. There was a original huttball match where I pushed the ball carrier away from the pit, jumped down after them, started shooting them and was on my third GCD when they vanished. The next thing I hear is that they've scored a point. They weren't a knight, so they couldn't have jumped. Maybe a sorcerer rescued them but I don't think they were viable from the goal line. I'm going to guess that was some sort of strange/glitch lag. I've also had two voidstars where the same assassin has been able to stealth cap a door I was right beside. The game, I assumed I wasn't being observant enough as there was fighting at the door. The second game I was mind trapped and staring right at the door when he capped it, but I never saw him. That could be a hack, or maybe he has serious lag on his connection.
  11. I think you misread me. I haven't been keyboard turning since I unbound my S key. I am also unsure what you mean by complaining about assassins. I have a shadow.
  12. BioWare loves its credit sinks. Augmenting stuff costs credits. Pulling mods costs credits. And those credits actually disappear as opposed to going to another player.
  13. I see your point, but you're not thinking things out currently. Marauders already have a stealth and that should be expanded on. You can just take it from operatives, they won't miss it. Juggurnauts are the tanky in your face class, so what they should get is reflect on 6 second CD.

    Is SWTOR dying?

    With strongholds and the (rumored) expansion pack in the pipeline, I expect the developers are focused elsewhere. That said, when the XP hits, I expect a level cap raise, new abilities, new warzones, and some shake up of class abilities and balance. Got to ask, which classes should have CCs and stuns in your mind?
  15. Marauders have an animation where they leap in the air and come down on you with both sabers pointed down. Is that blade rush? Merciless slash?
  16. My commando is the same. If I'm fighting a mara while being targeted by a sorcerer, mercenary, or sin/op, I have no chance. The difference is that if I 1 v 1 you, no one thinks I 'should win.' I might win.
  17. 1 vs 1 can matter. I was guarding a node the other day while the rest of my team was fighting over mid. A scoundrel popped up up and started eating through my health. I called for help and one person got there right about the time I died. The scoundrel vanished and they had to stand there while I waited to get out the gate. After they left, the scoundrel waited until they left almost returned to mid and then attacked again. I called for help, and this time had a bit of health left when the person returned. She immediately ran off and the other person followed, but she got away. This person's goal was not to grab the node. It was to harass it and force me to constantly call for help and pull people from mid, or get two people to guard the node. If I could simply kill her, no one would have to wait for me to return to the node after dying and the number of incap calls I'd make would be fewer. An opposite example: node guarding at ancient hypergate, operative opens up on me, I call for help and no one comes, but that's fine as I'm able to stay alive for long enough for the timer to run down, and he gets caught in the blast radius.
  18. Also: Learn to node guard. Learn to respond to incap calls Learn to use your taunts, even if you're not tank specced. Learn to use your heals, even if you're not heal specced. Learn positioning and line of sight. Learn to prioritize targets. (and mark healers for your team) Learn pass the ball. Learn to help set up passes. Learn when to disrupt/stuns/mezz. Learn to how to position your opponents. Learn to kite. Learn the strengths and weaknesses of various team compositions and how to adapt to them. Learn when to rotate. If you have two nodes and six of your teammates are fighting three people at mid, that's a good sign it's time to hustle. Learn when to pop your DCDs, when to use your warzone adrenals and medipacks, and when to run away. Learn which teammates can be counted on to do their job, which are exceptional at it, and which need to be carried. Learn to gear appropriately.

"I also assume Lvl 63 purples and/or a mix and match combo(69/63/61) will also be more favorable than Obroan MH/OH, but I think these screens are enough to know that Obroan weapons are not even as good as crafted 58 purples, which in turn, makes them useless outside of OWPVP." My level 38 toon wears 92/92/92 blues. Off the top of my head, I don't know what a 69/63/61 would be though I recall they were for level 55 toons. Someone new to the game would have no idea why you're recommending 69/63/61 gear.

  21. I hit level 55 on my juggernaut not long ago and she's now chilling on the Makeb orbital station with 150k in her account. My level 38 commando who has done nothing but PvP has ~400k. She has a full set of oranges filled with mods I got from planetary comms (from WZ) I have 120 warzone medipacks and adrenals, I bought the level 40 PvP gear, buy those lockboxes you get from the PvP vendor, and I still get that 'you are near the max comm level' every day. For leveling, PvP makes far more money than regular questing and flashpoints.
  22. I've played three matches today with 0 healers. During one match, my gunnery mando spent her time spamming medical probe and advanced medical probe, and managed to get the second highest heals with 80,000. The highest was a guardian with 100k in heals.
  23. What if you're being beaten by your own class? Bizarrely specific denial. People complaining about classes has existed long before guardians got buffed. People complaining about classes will exist long after TOR is shut down.
