  1. Is there any way that capes and hoods could be treated as separate costume pieces? I'm sure it would be more time consuming than what its worth, but its just something I'd like to see because I'm a cosmetic nut.
  2. I totally agree with the OP. It makes sense with the different packs, in fact, I love the gamble with packs. You could get something completely useless, but you could also get something ridiculously awesome - The dyes are just fricking colors though, it shouldn't be expensive on the CM OR the GTN. Yeah, you don't have to buy them, but the fact that other people do and it's never going to be more reasonable is utterly stupid. I have absolutely no problem with anything else on the CM other than this. Because I do want a black/black dye, but I'm not paying real money or even in game creds for it and that's frustrating. It wouldn't be so bad if it wasn't for the fact that other dyes look fugly. And did someone seriously compare the lottery to dyes? The lottery you spend like 5 bucks for a chance at MILLIONS of dollars, something that is mind blowing awesome. Dyes, your spending 20 bucks just to change the color of something your digital character wears. To me, this is the ultimate "lets see how much we can get away with". I don't know any other MMO that has this kind of customization. I can see paying money for armor, hair options, etc. etc. etc. but frigging colors!?!? Anyways Op, I think it's rather hopeless. I understand you venting, but people are going to continue to pay and support this, even though it is clearly and utterly stupid to have a cash sink for colors, something that should just be a part of a game. A black/black dye should cost 1000 creds from a vendor, at most. This whole dye thing is just so ridicuously stupid. It doesn't bother me that I can't have the dye I want, it bothers me that this kind of greed and trolling exists and people makes excuses for it.
  3. My choice for Han Solo is Aaron Eckhart (thank you for smoking, The dark knight), maybe just dye his hair brown.
  4. Tim Burton... I'm absolutely kidding btw, don't kill me. I heard some people say Chris Nolan and honestly, I'm a Chris Nolan fanatic but even I don't see him being able to do a good Star Wars movie - I just don't think he'd take it in the right direction. I qactually think Nolan should start doing the Star Trek movies and have Abrams do Star Wars, it would be a win-win.
  5. I know there's threads about actors and potential story lines, but what about writers and directors? Personally, I'd like to see Joss Wheden take the job as both writer and director. I'm not a Wheden nut but after watching the firefly series recently I think he could add the classic spark back into SW that the prequels were missing. But, he's too busy with Avengers and I think that franchise kind of needs him a little more, I don't really think anybody else could handle that many big characters at once as well as he did. Another potential I think is JJ Abrams, I think the dude did terrible with the new Trek but I think he could do awesome on a Star Wars movie - Leave Star Trek to somebody like Christopher Nolan. After watching Nolan's movies such as Inception, The Prestige, and Memento I think he could do a Star Trek, thought I think it might be too sci-fi for him, his stories just always had a kind of Trekky feel to it.
  6. Good point, I think I might have viewed them as average teenagers because the acting is so crappy that I can't take them seriously as a queen and trained Jedi. They seem to have the naivete of typical teenagers, but they shouldn't which is probably one of the things that makes Episode II so terrible, to me at least. The problem is I'm not sure if that's because of Lucas' lack of directing actors or lack of character development in his writing.
  7. This might sound off subject at first but hang in there... My daughter has turned 13 had her first boyfriend and the relationship seemed innocent. I figured she's a teenager, she's growing up, as long as they keep it safe and her mother and I stay careful and observant about everything that it's okay.. Until I heard her say "I love you" to him on the phone.. We put an end to that relationship (Not just because of that, but other reasons as well) and she started throwing a fit, and started all of this really cheesy, stupid things about how she loved him and since I'm a crappy parent and probably like Star Wars a little too much I thought "This is really f-ing stupid, she has no idea what she's talking about and she doesn't even realize how corny she sounds, she sounds like... Anakin and Padme from the prequels..." Now, I'm not commending the prequel's love story, I still hate it, but I think it makes it slightly better if you don't compare it to Han and Leia's relationship, and compare them more to naive idiotic teenagers(which they are). Because that's what it sounds like. Problem is I don't think Lucas intended it to be like that. Again, I'm not making ewxcuses for the prequels, I still pretty much hate them, the dialogue between Padme and Anakin makes me feel comfortable - But, they do sound believable as naive children rushing into things just because they can.
  8. Played both loved them, the thing I miss the most is the d20 system. Maybe I'm just an old school guy but I grew up playing AD&D and loved having a system that I was mostly familiar with. I don't like how your weapon choice is imbedded with your advanced class in this game. There's a ton pof things I miss about the old system, but I heard it's not very compatible with MMOs.
  9. Apologies for the noob question but I'm just starting to get into crafting with my bounty hunter. I have armormech, underworld training, and scavenging and I'm having no problems crafting the items. I know you can get some schematics from a crew skills trainer and by RE items, but is there any way to create the schematics yourself? Is there a skill that allows this?
  10. I personally don't see the big deal of why people get so riled up about other people's grammar in a game, forum, etc.when they know exactly what the writer is saying. I'm not being condescending or saying your crazy or anything like that so I apologize if it comes off as that - I'm just expressing my own personal opinion. It just doesn't seem that important to me, but everybody has their weird pet peeves. Also, please don't call them "lazy" it's not like it's their job or homework assignment to type in a Star Wars game forum or chat. I can understand calling the kid typing on his iphone at a fast food restaurant when there's a huge line of customers lazy, but a random person in a game that has no real practical value? Just ignore them, it's really all you can do. I'm not telling you to listen to them and give them a chance, just try to understand that just because some people don't think typing in a star wars forum or chat is worth the effort doesn't mean that they're illiterate. There's nothing wrong with them for not caring either, there's absolutely nothing serious about except that it annoys grammar nazis. But overall, it's your pet peeve and you should handle it the way you want, I'm just giving my own two sense. P.S. It's "misspelled", "misspelt" isn't a word lmao, sorry, just had to.
  11. This is a hard question for me, because although I think Lucas is a terrible director I don't see a film maker that would be able to make it consistent in feel with the original. I thought Nolan, because honestly, I'm a huge Nolan fan boy - Not just because his Dark Knight movies but I just haven't seen a bad movie by him yet, Memento, Insomnia, Prestige, etc. were all very good movies in my opinion. I just don't think Nolan's style fits very well with star wars, I could see him doing a Star Trek movie but not Star Wars. I think if I had to lean with anybody it would be Joss Whedon. So who would be your guys pick? It doesn't matter if you're thinking remake, sequel or prequel, just simply which writer, director, etc. do you think would be best to take the torch from Lucas?
  12. The force is just gas released from Q's **** on Taco Bell Tuesdays
  13. I was just curious if there was a board on the site to look for guilds. I come from STO and I'm used to having a board where members promote their guild, make posts searching for a guild, etc. I was just wondering if we have something similar because I haven't been having much luck finding it :-S
  14. Ah, I did not know that, excuse my incompetence. I was going to be a sith inquisitor. Thing is, it's not like the choices are gone, they're just greyed out and says I have to reach 50 with one in order to play one - Which doesn't make much sense to me. Edit: Oops, my bad, questions has been answered. Thank you guys!
  15. So I've been away from the game for a few months, went to create a new character and discovered that a lot of the species I used to be able to pick from, I can no longer pick. Why was this decision made and how do I unlock all of them?
  16. I feel the same exact way and I love those books. It just doesn't feel like it would adapt well for a movie, it would be very slow. But I'm kinda weird, I like a lot of visual stunning stuff and action in my movies but I think it's boring as hell in books and prefer diving more into the characters. Thrawn Trilogy - Great plot, great characters, but just simply wouldn't be as good for a movie. Then again, you never know, with the right director it could be epic - The battles could be more awesome.
  17. Same here, those were truely the dark ages of star wars, the most exciting thing that happened in those times were the release of Shadows of the Empire toys. It sucked as being a kid just as the Star Wars fad was dying out and it was a pain in the *** to find the toys (it's not like we had online stores or any of that stuff to order from). I was honestly a fan the entire time through the dark ages, and not sure about anyone else but it felt kinda depressing in those days. Although I was disappointed with the prequels I can give thanks to them for helping bring SW back in full force. I don't care how much you hate the prequels, SW would pretty much be dead right now if it wasn't for them - Then again I think that could be debateable, just my opinion of course.
  18. Malak giving the command to wipe out Taris Not sure why, but it gave me the same feelings I got when I first watched Vader in TOG, I thought it was a classic scene, regardless of what other people think of Malak.
  19. Hate to go off subject but I'm honestly just curious, why don't you think bullying should be a crime? Wouldn't that help prevent a lot of the violence that happens in schools?
  20. I actually kinda liked this aspect of the prequels though, I thought it showed and complimented the idea of being a different, more strict/stuffy era of the jedi order. I think it compliments the OT in the sense that when you go to watch the older movies, you feel that Obi-Wan and Yoda(especially Yoda) are worn out, desperate, and maybe have had time to think about a lot of the flaws of the Jedi order. This is just my personal opinion, and I'm not claiming it to be fact because it's not, just saying how I feel about it. I felt that the Jedi had reached their peak during the PT era and has become too big and strict to the point of almost destroying itself. Not sure if I'm explaining that right, that's just how I feel. Maybe I'm not reading this right, pretty tired right now as I've had a long day, but aren't you contradicting yourself right here? You say that the whole "jedi must not have attachments" thing wasn't portrayed in the OT, but then you describe Obi-Wan and Yoda pretty much protesting against Luke's attachment - Just like they do to Anakin in the PT. Totally agree. While I don't think the PT weren't that bad and I don't hate them nearly as much as others and actually still find them entertaining, they were also pretty big disappointments. The only thing that bothers me about it is I think Lucas could have made them 16 times better than what they were, but like I said, I still like them - Just not nearly as much as the OT. I honestly do like Episode 3 more than ANH - But I'm an eye candy type of guy. ANH, far better story, better acting, love the raw feel of it, but it just moves too slow for my taste - I don't think that's a terrible thing either, in fact I think that's why a lot of people really loves it because since it's slow, it also mean more focus on character development and relationships and I'm all down for that, but for some reason it just doesn't strike a chord with me enough to like it more than Episode 3. I'm not saying Episode 3 is a better made movie, I'm just more entertained by it. I'll add one more thing, and that is that although I really like ROTS, I was really disappointed by actually starting to like Anakin in Episode 3. I know I'll get flamed for that but I thought we kinda started to see him actually being the hero like he was made out to be in ANH, and I hate that we didn't see more of that in at least Episode 2. I just thought it was *** backwards that Anakin was fed up with things in Ep 2, but at the beginning of Ep 3 he's more heroic and even a little more patient. You could say that it was an age thing, but I thought it would have been better if Anakin remained patient, cam, etc. through his mother's death, fight with Dooku, etc. etc. etc. and in Ep 3 finally just snapped. I liked the PT, but I'd love to see a remake, or hell, even read one from some fans. I started writing my own, but I'm still kinking out a lot of plot things.
  21. As generic it might sound i think Luke Skywalker because I think we can all learn from Luke. The man had every reason to kill vader and the emperor and in the face of the most dangerous man in the galaxy at the current time, he threw his lightsaber away to prove that he's better than killing, he's higher than all the violence that was taking place - He doesn't seek vengeance, only peace, and I don't think enough people in real life goes by that philosophy. I think Luke Skywalker is a sort of Martin King in the SW galaxy for doing what he did in the face of pure evil and like I said, we can all learn from those types.
  22. I'm not disagreeing with you, but you don't have many teenage relatives or anything do you? My daughter has turned twelve, and she is turning into Anakin. My nephew was a likeable awesome kid, hit his teens and became a little narcissistic punk. You'd be amazed by how common it is for kids to suddenly turn into Anakin Skywalker once they hit their teens. They start thinking they know the world inside and out, end up being very condescending, thus talking back to their parents, teachers, etc. Sometimes they even do drastic things to fuel out their anger like drugs, alcohol and violence. It's not an Anakin Skywalker thing, it's a teenager thing and as much as i think AOTC could have been better, it was a rather accurate display of how teens are.
  23. I second this. IK have my pc and lap top from which I play TOR from both, my lap top isn't nearly as up to date as my pc so I have a hard time configuring just right so I can play it without getting so much freezing.
  24. I know there are a lot more important things that need to be done, but maybe these could be added somewhere down on the list? First, I want to be able to change my characters appearance. Before this I was playing Star Trek Online and they have "tailors" on several maps that allow you to change the appearance of your character with the price of credits which scales to how drastically you change your character. I find this mostly a problem because I didn't realize how girlish my dude looks with his jaw length hair and he looks like a certain type of npc I see quite often. Second, is there any possible way we can get voice options? i understand it would cost a lot of money and probably more work then its worth to get other voice actors in, but isn't there some kind of technology that would be able to alter the tone or depth of the voices? I play guitar and there's devices that can make a guitar sound deeper(lower tuned) or higher.
