  1. Me and 3 friends just resubbed after a long time away. We're looking for an MMO and nostalgia kicked us hard enough to bring our attention back to TOR. Right now, we're spread among all 4 of the SE base classes, and we're trying to figure out the best way to split crew skills so that we can benefit each-other as a group, but so that no one has any overlaps that aren't unnecessary. I figure with there being 4 gathering, 4 mission, and 6 crafting, we should be able to split up enough to cover everything aside from 2 of the crafting skills and just share components as needed. Thanks for the help!
  2. Good info. I appreciate it. Is there anything worth noting late game as far as exclusives go? For example, I know in the past there were Re-Usable stims and med packs that only Bio-Chems could use (I hear that's not the case in the higher level late game, but I digress). Are there any other "Crafter use only" items worth noting?
  3. I'm not even so concerned with quick money or anything, and I'm perfectly willing to invest time in crew skills. I'm just wanting to make sure I'm not investing time and effort into a skill that's going to be completely useless late/.end game. That's all.
  4. So, it sounds like the crafting crew skills aren't even worth it till end game (which I suppose is common). So then, would it be worth picking up the supplementary (i.e. Archaeology and UwT for Synth) gathering skills and something else like slicing until late game, selling just the materials for cash, or are crafting crew skills (i.e. synth) worth working on while you level?
  5. I was gone for awhile and just re-subbed, and I've noticed that one of the biggest changes over time has been the flood of cheap adaptive gear. I'm back in the game, starting a new guy (Juggernaut) and I'm trying to figure out if there's any point in taking a crafting skill anymore (i.e. synth) or if it's just best to pick up 3 gathering skills for the cash to buy whatever I need/want. I appreciate any clarity on this topic. Thanks!
  6. I personally think it's a great marketing strategy. My only concern is these "boosts" they're talking about. So long as they don't provide any advantage in combat, especially PvP, then I'm all for the new system. And this is coming from a First day Early Launch, full subscriber since day one, CE member who'd going to be banking on points to spend. Just keep MT's away from combat enhancing boosts, and we're good.
  7. I could be completely off, so don't quote me. But I'm guessing that a lot of the PvP related issues that I'm seeing have to do with population. What I mean to say it, they're probably waiting till the population increases enough to incorperate more of the PvP things that we're used to seeing such as; Selectable WZ's, Bracketed WZ's, etc. Right now, with the population (while good and growing) not being high enough, it would be really bad if they bracketed the PvP AND had selectable WZ's. This would mean that there would be entire brackets or WZ's that never popped because there just wouldn't be enough people playing in them. I'd guess that as population increases, they'll add these in and we'll start seeing a richer PvP experience. Just hang in there. Again, that's all just my guessing, hopefully I'm right. Cheers!
  8. Well, then by that logic, I assume you'd be happy if everytime you turned off a light switch, the power in your house crashed for several hours, or when you turned off the TV, your cable went out for the month... That's pretty much what you're saying... By monitoring the flow and restricting it the way they are, they are preventing complete server crashes which is VERY VERY common on MMORPG launch days. I'm thrilled with the service so far. I'd rather wait in queue for 10-30 min then not be able to play for 5 hours.
  9. Considering that this is (I believe) the biggest launch (population wise) in MMORPG gaming history, I'd say things are running really well. I've seen MMORPG launches with a fraction of the population at launch have complete server crashes. So, realistically, they're already doing much better than their predeseccors. I would much rather a 10 min queue time (which is perfect for making sure I have my drinks and snacks with me for along playing session) then to have the servers crash and be down for hours upon hours. IMO, BioWare's score for launch is an easy 9/10. Not perfect, but damn near it.
  10. That sucks. I got mine at the midnight release last night. Hopefully you get yours in sooner rather than later.
  11. I agree. I appreciate all the hard work and dedication that has taken years for the BioWare team to do. You guy's are the best!
  12. These are my favorite!!! Happy day, one less noob to clutter the servers
  13. then that's really good to know. I've been looking to switch ISPs soon anyway. Thanks for that, I'm back in high spirits now!
  14. right now the lag is terrible. I don't know if it's just on my end or what, but it wasn't this bad during the testing. Hoping it's just my internet and that it clears up soon.
