Clearly those Jedi didn't prepare for level 50 and were wearing recruit gear.
lol'd
Thank you.

Judging by the 18 pages of posts you got related to this topic, I'm going to go with, "No, sexually frustrated manchildren on the internet are not over female gamers yet."

Quests and spacebar.

How about some freakin' chat bubbles and the ability to sit in a damn chair?

Casinos don't exist so people can win. They exist to make money. No different with gambling packs in cash shops.

Yea for the 10 and under crowd.
Meanwhile you're playing a game with spaceships, cute furry mammals called Wookies, cloaked midgets who talk in an adorable way, swords made of pretty beams of light, and precious little kangaroo things called Tauntauns.
Please do continue to tell us about your refined tastes.

Having been there, done that in WoW... bad idea. Especially if there's any sort of perk/advantage tied to the guild levels. As time rolls on it becomes pretty much mandatory to join a high level guild just for the benefits, and when you're recruiting for a smaller guild, the questions people ask change from 'What kind of people/events/etc does the guild have?' to 'Are you at least level X and have perk Y for me?'
I hate what the whole guild levels and perks thing did to small family and RP guilds in WoW, and I sincerely hope I never, ever see it here.
It doesn't have to take a huge amount of effort to get said perks. Just because WoW does it one way does not mean that it will be that way everywhere else that it's implemented. Try thinking about ways that it could be improved upon instead of immediately pooping on the idea because it made things worse in WoW.

Is there anything on the PTS yet?

If you're really that hesitant, I'm sure you can get a refund. If EA doesn't want to give it to you, then call up your bank.

WoW changes the same for EVERYONE. Mages don't see a different world from Paladins who don't see the world different from Shamans. Everyone sees the same changes no matter what. Also, they only brought in the world changing thing in Wrath of the Lich King and even then it was limited. It took an expansion to completely overhaul the Vanilla game and move the story forward - No phasing used.
Also, there used to be consequences in the Beta of the game where you could kill your companions, anger them to the point that they would leave you permanently amongst others but people started doing stupid things and killing their companions without thinking of the consequences and sadly the systems got removed.
MMO Players can't handle permanent change well.
Like I said, phasing has minor issues, but it's much better than what SWTOR offers. I find it sadly ironic that a game that isn't story-driven has more varied quest types and has a more dynamic world than a heavily story focused game. Bioware, the "experts" in video game storytelling, should have understood that a story is far more effective if the gameworld reflects the story.
Phasing is a viable solution to let players see the consequences of their actions even if it is limited. Also, WoW has been using this type of thing for four years, which is when Wrath launched. I didn't say that every single quest from 1-80 had phasing.
The overall point of my post was that even casual themepark MMO's can have permanent change. The technology exists. It's a proven concept. Sadly, SWTOR will continue to make every quest a, "Go kill/collect 10 animal parts" quest that will have ZERO impact on the gameworld and very little impact on the overall story.

Permanent consequences in MMO ? Never gonna happen. You kill 10 rats, 10 rats respawn the next minute.
Such is the way of the genre.
WoW has been permanently changing the world based on events you participate in for over four years. I know that MMO hipsters hate WoW, so I expect to be told why WoW's technology for it is total crap. It has minor issues, but it's far better than having nothing at all.

The ONLY message you'll be sending EA is that you'll continue to spend money on their product regardless of your feelings about the direction of the game.

Scary thought...they value the speeder at $18, and Makeb at only $10....
Hadn't thought of that lol. That's a bit worrying.

I dont know how you can pay to win against yourself but im sure someone will try and tell me. As for gamebreaker, they are a running joke between me and my mates as we try to see how bad they can say swtor is before shouting 'but hey try rift, its great, its over there'. Anyone would think gamebreaker are being sponsored to promote rift as best they can, ow wait they are.
I tried todo a drinking game for everytime they went well x amd x is bad but in rift its AMAZING, i had to stop as i couldnt see properly on the last show.
That's pretty interesting since it came up like twice. Did you get drunk after two drinks? Cheap date I guess.

Did you ever stop to think that perhaps BW is doing everyone a favor and NOT bringing Christmas into a game simply because not all of us are Christians?! What a novel thought......
None of the games associate their "Winter celebrations" with Christian holidays. I've never gotten a mail or quest in any western MMO telling me to come celebrate the birth of Jesus. If you can't enjoy Chrismtas decorations just because you associate them with Christianity, I don't know what to tell ya'
I don't celebrate Christian holidays, but I do put up Christmas decorations because they look pretty. The point that you seemed to miss was that Bioware did nothing other than monetize some massively overpriced junk and then tell us to go celebrate. It's cheap and lame.

Don't worry. They'll eventually put a replica of it in the cash shop for 2400 CC. "Own this wonderful piece of history." I can even see the 19 year old dev from Half Baked doing another dev diary and telling us how awesome it's going to be.
Then for Christm... er excuse me "Lifeday" they'll put lights on it and sell it as a totally new item.

Wow...Okay. Okay.... okay. Let me break down why you man-children will never be pleased with anything in an MMO ever.
At launch there's queues and full servers. Constant whining.
Few months later, there's a lot less people. The whining for merges begins.
Another few months pass. Total whinefest about low population.
F2P launches. People now whine about full planets; not even server queues, but just having full planets is enough to whine about.
The circle is now complete.

Gamestops trashy promo mag has low editorial quality!?! Say it ain't so!
It's actually a pretty quality gaming publication.

Full disclosure: I never played a Bioware single player game.
I think the storyline is great, but the gameplay sucks. It's too disjointed. I can't be given an epic story and then be told to go kill 10 rats. It just doesn't work. Was the gameplay in KOTOR compelling and exciting or was it the same garbage? How about the other Bioware games?
I can go play Deus Ex: Human Revolution that has a great story and great gameplay. As a single player game, TOR fails. Good story alone does not make a good video game.

No.

You'll have it as soon as they monetize it and stick it in the cash shop. No worries.

I'd say it's below average. In these games you usually see gear models tied to raid tier progression, so you end up in a situation where no new looks are introduced until a new raid is introduced. WoW solved this by allowing you to basically wear any piece of armor in the game and retain the endgame stats. Rift added content faster than any developer to date, so there was no real lack of variety. TSW adds new cosmetic items to the game pretty regularly. TOR seems to be solving this by sticking a bunch of models they've been sitting on in the cash shop.

I run with everything on the highest settings at 1920x1080, but I disable bloom and set shadows and shader complexity to low. My computer can run it with shadows and shaders on high, but it takes quite a performance hit, and frankly the shadows in this game aren't impressive enough for me to care.

Gotta love necroing those threads. Moddable outfits, future planets, future events... None of them got responded to and the funniest thing is that most devs with their names mentioned in the opening posts are not working here anymore.
lol
It is sort of funny to look back on all of their outlandish claims.
9 weeks would be Tuesday - 1.7?

Bioware has over-promised and under-delivered on everything since this game launched. Why people believe a single word from them is beyond me.
You can count on Bioware being late and introducing new bugs that will last indefinitely with every patch.
