  1. for a start defiant set bonus isnt roughly average for a casual as it is ops drop gear. we are not all players that can do operations and get the gear that quick and from your influence level it seems you do ops more than anything else. as sage in heals/dps with a set bonus you are way more powerful than as you suggest use the gear drops as you level from 60 to 65. i agree that heroic should mean that but your analogy of doing it in level 25 gear is just stupid but when it is impossible for some in level 60 purple gear maybe there is a problem. as regards harder stuff i do wish bioware would introduce a real nightmare level that only 2 or 3 guilds in the world would master before nerfing to sit back and watch the posts from people like you who would say its impossible. i play for enjoyment and chat with other like minded players we want fun and not to be put down in posts like yours have been ( you have totally denied that anyone could have a problem with the game as "i can do it - therefore you can do it as well" remember - if a game is to be successful; it has to cater for all styles and abilities thats why console games have several levels of challenge you can pick as you start. we could have that here as well if people like yourself would allow it
  2. i admit i had a knee-jerk reaction to the changes and am not amused by the way as a sub from day one in ahouse where even pre beta testing was run to be paying you money and getting the type of service i and many others have got . i did expect a more professional approach to a game like this from bioware who has created many great games in the past. Was i foolish to think that? but on a positive note you asked for feedback - on my first outing to an h2 with a commando newly 65 and senya as companion (level 5 as i had missed some of the way to get things to make her influence higher) it was a disaster - it was fight die half way through , come back and rinse repeat. the toons gear level was still mainly 192 purple as 208's didnt seem to give better (at least the drops didnt) cos he is a gunnery and not a healer. However perseverance and trial and error - cos eric the information that comes from bioware is atrocious and either written in gamespeak or just does not seem to make sense to me when applied. having now mastered i think a way to stay alive i can see one minor/major problem and it seems to cut across all my characters and that is cooldowns on disabling shots, force lift etc. i use these to control the mobs to make the figth work with the new level of companion and then wait up to 20 secs for a cooldown before taking on the next mob. i have no complaint but a lower cooldown time would make for a more fluent and enjoyable encounter. i have noticed this on my sages as well. deaths i am finding now are when my companion goes on strike or fails to engage when sent in - i have even put a companion on one goldhead to have them run off as a tank to another group, and panic sets in, some i survive some are like a suicide run. The comment about reading the paper - hey guys i dont know if they were coded to do that. i have made other posts with concerns but i see that someone at bioware doesnt want negativity in a discussion so moves it off topic. heavens if this isnt the topic at the moment what is? and you are asking for feedback and our comments try looking in the corners where many posts/thereads have been moved to hide how the community feel.
  3. Bioware i think the reason for all this negativity about the changes stems from one simple reason -Testing. It seems to me as a long term subscriber and a house that took part in the early beta release testing that you are now using subscribers as beta testers for new content with the early release mechanism. The Revan expansion last xmas seemed to be the serious start as there were so many game breaking bugs that it could not possibly have been tested, The list goes on and on. I Quote from Ertic's post Will your Companions feel a bit weaker than they did when KotFE launched? Yes. But believe me they will still carry their weight and fill the role you need them to in combat. All that we ask is that you log in tomorrow, and check the changes yourself. Play around with the Companions in each role and let us know your feedbackk. Thanks everyone. And above is subscribers having tested out the game for them (by paying for the privilege of early release) being a tester again. You have made the change and now want us to tell you if it works - not good practice. How about apologies and actually giving something back to the testers - oooh that must go against a company policy. personally i am fed up testing your game for you and changes will have to made to persuade me to rethink my position with regards continued subscription to swtor.
  4. but the devs should have properly tested this and Eric should not have to say "Hopefully" and "let me know"
  5. hey you are the teenager to me as i get to 63 next week, retired college lecturer with duff eyesight and still going with mmo's. The guild master of a small band of - i hope like minded people. i remember the hours queuing for the first film at the cinema star wars is a part of our lives at my age. keep up the good work and may the force get you to my age safely
  6. if the game producers had a car that went in for update taking 4 hours and made their days plans based on that and were then told sorry we had a problem and are trying to fix it. when asked "how long before i get my car back " get told -" we don't know!" I think they would have the same views as many that have posted here. Like why wasn't this update to my car tested properly before starting the work. i have worked closely with the hardware side of the industry of computers and am now semi retired but in my line of work all things were extensively tested before updates were started to minimize disruption to services. Please EA and Bioware can you apply some of the old fashioned principles to your methods of working.
  7. ok so we have level sync and maybe we are stuck with it for the time being. My concern is for a new low level player in my guild enjoying the story and getting fun from levelling and then finding that they are level synced for the planet they are on. They are not 65 but but are 17/18 on coruscant and for their efforts get synced back. The incentive to level and do it on your own has gone
  8. Bio-ware - after 3 years of playing and numerous patches - the words "thank you for your patience" are wearing very thin with a lot of people. Perhaps a change of wording may help, but i think being honest early on and telling the people that you don't know how long "but anticipate it to be" would be a start. Also can we use the same dictionary as brief means short.
  9. Eric please define the word brief from your dictionary that means for us that have English as their first language
