  1. this is the downside of having dps that can "tank" if only for a small amount.

imagine having a proper tank in 4v4 or even 8v8 + a healer.

who's going to stop them? now imagine if you can stack these.

i like the idea of all roles being viable but it does not work in small scale pvp and especially when the matchmaking is what it is in SWTOR pvp.

  2. ot of those 3 i would probably go for GW2. the base game is free and if you like it you'll only need to pay for the expansion. it's also a very casual friendly game as in once you've got yourself a decent set of orange gear at max level you don't really need to worry about upgrading it anymore unless you intend to be hardcore about it. so you can come and go as you like and still be able to join in on most things.

FFXIV got a lot of forced group content

WoW is pretty dated and pretty much built to rush you to max level these days

  3. We don't need different skills - we need Expertise that boosts different classes differently. Heals too powerful? You only get a 25% boost while the other 2 classes get 35%. Damage too low? You get a 40% boost while others get 35%. Defenses too powerful? You get the idea. PvP balance tweaks that don't mean a thong to PvE.

problem is it would require pretty much round the clock tweaking since the players always figure out what's better and will abuse the crap out of it for as long as it's available.

  4. Wildstar?

Still immense fun gameplay wise (ESO is the only game with better gameplay IMO), and the setting is cool as well.

Still being supported, but it is sparsely populated these days.

    All The Best

loved the look of wildstar but the combat ruined everything about it.. everything is just all about the ground telegraphs and it makes for some boring class design. sure dodging stuff can be fun but not when everything is centered around it.

  5. and you get a nerf, and you get a nerf, and you get a nerf... everybody get's a nerf! :D

soon errybody will be hitting the almighty mercs and snipers with wet noodles.

  6. Whatever they do, they must separate it as other successful mmo like wow did. If they wont do it somehow, this disaster with pvp suffering because of pve (nerfed carnage, virulance, lethality) and pve suffering because of pvp (nerfed sorc healing, concealment agent) wont end lol. Separation is the first thing they must do. And after this they may adjust pvp as they want

doesn't work.. even in games such as gw2's spvp where you'll probably find the most balanced mmo pvp i can think of there's still major issues when it comes to balancing. there's no simple solution.

also people advocating different skills for pvp/pve should consider who they are asking it from and how horrible it most likely would turn out.

  7. Think about what you are saying. Almost all wars are imp versus imp now, because of the embarrassing faction imbalance. If it was cross faction you'd be fighting some pubs. So you should WANT cross faction.

So I do not believe you actually are against cross faction because your argument AGAINST cross faction is actually an argument FOR it.

i'm surprised the huttball maps aren't cross faction. they'd be perfect for it.

  8. Sry but in my eyes there is no "too easy" in PVE....

What's wrong about chilling in PVE a couple of hours afterwork?

Why is it "normal" for some people that beeing stressed by a game after beeing stressed in the job is the only way to go?

I don't get it....bottom line is this is a GAME....and beside the few progressler that are enjoying their(in my eyes) really nerdy behaviour most of the PVE players have choosen to be a PVE player.....it's no job for them just fun.

Most of them - as i said- are just after a little fun afterwork and not after an equal stresslevel they have at work.

I KNOW and see that this kind of "fun" is not for the ordinary "I'M "XXXkillyouallXXX" I HAVE TO KILL AS MANY OTHER PLAYERS AS FAST AS I CAN BECAUSE I'M AWESOME AND STRESS IS FUN" PVP kind of player(and we all know they exist).

Those players are lost for arguments, they just see pvp as the meaning of life, but all others...please accept that there are people out there that just want to chill and are getting annoyed by every PVP caused nerf that affects their gameplay just because some people think that "all is too easy"....

It's not and never will be.....

how exactly is a player such as yourself impacted by balancing if you don't care about doing any of the "hard" stuff?

  9. As a guardian main who skank in PvP, I have said everywhere that if you want fewer tanks in PvP guardian dps needs to be less squishy. I played vigi for a long time in the early days of 4.0 In the meta of mercs and snipers who hit like trucks and could out tank my tank. Now of course some of the edge has been taken off due to the dps nerfs, but my dps guardian is still a squishy.

Now my personal sob story. I was with a guildie healer in a hypergates. It was a miserable match, I couldn't run anywhere without being focused in seconds. I literally died more than 10 times. We seriously won because the other team was too busy killing me to defend their own node. "Oh look a squishy kill it!" I couldn't handle the dying constantly even if it was enough of a distraction to create a win, so I told my buddy to make me skank gear.

Buff dps guardian and vg (I'd say and sorc) d efensives and people will dps in these classes. To get rid of skanks you also have to make tank gear somehow useful in PvP but that's beyond the scope of this thread.

i'm guessing the squishyness is in ranked? as i only play regs i don't see it.. i feel pretty much unstoppable as vengeance in regs.

  10. I stopped botherin nan long time ago... but to be fair, there s no good game right now to play at all.

Im waiting on Ashes of Creation, u guys should get a view, it should be good i guess.

    Piece out

meh the combat system they got looks like dog **** and it's just another generic fantasy game.

the only upcoming title that seems a little bit interesting right now is Camelot Unchained but only because it's supposed to be able to support massive battles(something i'd really want in a Star Wars setting).

  11. It's so lame this is off by default and someone has to come to forums to find out. Imagine if this person hadn't played before and didn't even know about these old missions.

Bioware you need to change this so it's on by default and people can turn it off. You've got it completely backwards the way it is now.

yeah just make it clear what type of mission they are and leave them in as default... just slap in an npc with "alien speak"

to drop a few lines to you once you landed on the planet explaining the different kinds of missions available and then send them on their merry way.
