  1. nah u have been crying about sniper/gs for a while, it's ok, seems u can't control them

    cheers

    there is the "crying" again.

it''s okay, I understand you cannot formulate any intelligent thought.

  2. the only strong defense to snipers/gs is the ability of gett in range trough positioning, DCd's are useless xept the 3 sec dodge, srry man, all the other tools are designed to get range while doing damage

Not sure if all of that was even english.

and... from what I got from that is you don't even understand your own class.

Which means you are arguing for the sake of arguing.

  3. You wouldn't be pointing at sins and their Force Shroud by any chance?

That doesn't even make sense, fyi

so basically ur qq comes because u have a warrior/knight, and u think u should be able to get in range easily to just unload all ur cd's with no chance from the other player to avoid them

    sounds legit

i am pretty sure that as a warrior/kngiht u have no burst, cloack, cc inmunity, shield or debuff to counter that

    Oh here we go....

"Someone just unveiled something wrong with my class they must be QQing so I will respond with some crazy exaggerated story"

You realize I can easily just say the opposite?

"so basically your defensiveness and deflection comes because you play sniper/slinger, and you think you should be able to not only hard counter the main ability of another class, and have no one hard counter you, but have every tool in the game to make sure that no melee should ever be able to do anything to you unless you are afk."

    See?

I play every class @ 55 PVP except Mando/Merc btw. The ones that tend to "collect dust" the most , are the ones I feel are blatantly overpowered (playing them too).

  4. No operative healer can heal both the group and himself while under pressure. If you think this is happening, it is because you are not really applying pressure to him.

No one class should destroy another plan and simple. Most of the "OP" healing is because there are other players healing the healer out. You don't peel for heals you don't get heals because your healer is dead. Good healing is only done with the help of everyone else. A healing is so codependent on everyone else.

Also, A healer doesn't have to actually die for you to be doing a good job. If you have the heat on he is not healing his party thus along your fellow teammates to kill the rest of their team. It's this single mindedness in pvp is the root of all the complaining in these forums. WZs are about team work and not the final scoreboard.

sounds like you don't have much experience despite what your sig says.

Scouperative healers are successfully healing their group AND themselves under high pressure.

I have no problem with healers being able to do over the top healing, but if healing is going to be that much higher then even a single DPS spec can perform, then it is not too much to ask that their resource management be even worse off then say.... Pyro PT.

  5. sure

    but

    wich ones pls

    Cover vs Force leap/Charge

I'd bet sniper/slinger players would be in an extreme uproar if some High burst spec of another class was given an ability that has the same effect as your Diversion

It is something that is overlooked tremendously by non Sniper/Slinger player and even by Sniper/Slinger players themselves. The same thing happens to players of Stealth based classes, you will find they very often underplay or have trouble seeing the multitude of benefits stealth offers.

With the damage, utility, and what I mentioned above. The sniper/slingers shouldnt have all of that and a bag of CC, so I would say reduce/remove some of their CC potential (like immobilize on cover pulse), then MAYBE they can be looked at for some QoL for areas they are lacking (which I don't see)

  6. Which ones?

And why shouldn't there be any class that can counter them?

because no other class has a hard counter for your. or other classes for that matter

  7. Just to be clear, I am well aware of how to get unlimited warzones, plus I am a subscriber, so I get them unlimited anyway.

My concern is for the dwindling PvP community as a whole. We need fresh blood. And we need old players who come back to be able to try out PvP without the risk losing $15. Unlimited Warzones for Preferred (or maybe even F2P) would be the first step towards increasing the pool of players.

Of course, if Bioware just said Cross Server was on the I wouldn't even care about F2P warzone restrictions, but it's not, so...

Which is funny because them doing Cross server Que / Warzones / PVE would actually be quite simple and easy to implement. In other words they are either lazy, really dumb, or the big wigs who care about every penny don't want to make the server transfers meaningless

  8. X server ques so your less likely to end up with the alt of his (easy to implement but BW is lazy / dumb)

Ranked Warzone spectate mode with report feature for AFK / game throwers / etc.

Matchmaking system that WORKS, so you dont have low rated vs high rated, and it needs to balance off classes NOT just role, matches like 3 mara vs 3 snipers .... makes you say "really?"

  9. umm if anything snipers need to be toned down. Maybe removing some of their CC is really what is needed. You are already the only class in the game that has a use anywhere toggle ability that hard counters the main ability of 2 other classes.
  10. The Nostromo is the way to go. I love that thing.

meh I have tried a g13 which is basically same as a nostromo and couldn't really get comfortable. I use a Steelseries Merc Stealth now and a Naga

  11. If you're curious, based on the average ratings I refer to above, the following are the lowest rated:

    VG/PT = worst

    Mando/Merc = second worst

    Sent/Mara = third worst

Its interesting that Troopers and Bounty Hunters both at the bottom. Maybe tweaking a baseline ability could help fix both AC's. Something to the effect of making a shared ability such as Hold the Line / Hydraulics grant a larger speed and/or making them immune to cc for the duration.

Just make KO not cap at 35%, this will help all Worst and second worst.

I would also say a slight rework of the Comb gas cylinder DoT. I think this DoT should last a little longer and do a little more damage respectively. However I think this DoT should "ramp-up*, as in the first tick is small, the second is a little larger...so on and so forth. The time between ticks should get smaller and smaller as the duration progresses as well. This is how all cleansable DoTs should work really, it adds a little flavorable pressure to the spec and isn't OP. If the DoT is left unchecked it can do some serious hurt.

As for Sents/Mara. The main problem is CC, there is too much CC in the game with too small of a cooldown, and with or without a resolve redesign I think a version of the unstoppable talent is what Sent/Mara needs in the Carnage/Combat tree. I am not talking about a mirror of the talent but something similar. Like "Force Leap grants immunity to knockbacks and sleep effects for 1/2 s or 1.5/3s" This would not make it OP as it would still be vulnerable to stun effects, has low duration, and Leap/Charge has a cooldown anyway

  12. nah, I think the whole ranked and ranked comms system is fail to begin with. The only thing ranked should have going for it is the desire to face more organized and skilled opponents (skill part lacking atm), and have a rating + leaderboard.

Just have group only que for ranked, and have normal reg warzones give ranked+reg comms, and make solo que for regs SOLO ONLY, and group regs be group ONLY

However, fixing healing (especially scouperative healers which are overtuned atm), adding some kind of better healing debuff/guard counter attached to an ability/talent, and a overhaul to resolve system is what is needed most atm.

  13. similar question have been asked, and the majority reason many people agree on is that the engine Bioware is using isn't cut out for Cross-server.

umm, noone agreed on that. If people are saying the engine would cause issues they are morons.

I am pretty sure it was BW that said the engine would cause issues or something, which is a lie.

The engine is already built around instances, that is the foundation for cross server ques. If the engine was a sandbox and had no instances, then sure, the engine could be the blame, but who would want instanced PVP in sandbox anyway.

Them making a cross server que system would be quite easy, and the only excuse (if you can even call it an excuse) for not doing it is either they are lazy or they don't want to lose the little money they make on server transfers, which wouldn't be really needed anymore with Xservers.

  14. Whilst there are some glaringly OP classes, even some that will *claim* they are weak in these very forums. (*IE* Sniper/Slinger, why do you think they are focused first all the time in ranked, it's not because of the squish)

I still think the PVP here is great. I love sandbox PVP MMOs, the problem is it is pretty much a dead market. Every single on of those games have crazy low population in a game that requires more pop then most games to be healthy, and because of the pop/design require a lot of grind and setup just to get to PVP (some of us have jobs).

SWTOR, while it doesn't have the sandbox it is still great for getting a PVP fix.

I agree they have really dropped the ball on new warzone maps for awhile. If I had a choice on which maps to que for since release.... well it STILL would be all of the originals (no hypergate, no arena, no quesh)

  15. Cool, I suppose you're intimately familiar with their server architecture and how their network is setup. And you know exactly how they coded things. You know all the return types and parameters that their functions and methods take. Have you worked on an MMO before or are you just assuming networking is networking and instances will solve everything. Obviously they can put players in instances. The part they are having trouble with is getting people to the instances.

You're also assuming everything is coded properly. They were rushed to finish the game and probably took some shortcuts that they shouldn't have. Those shortcuts could be creating problems for them.

I'm no fan of how BW has run this game and not having cross server is 100% their fault but for you to sit here and say you could fix there problems in an afternoon makes you sound ridiculous. You have no idea what their setup is or the limitations it has.

Doesn't work that way. It is much simpler, and you don't have to have worked on MMOs. If they are using instances, the method and difficulty (lack there of in this case), is the same no matter the architecture and no matter the engine. It doesn't matter what they rushed, or shortcuts they took, nor does it matter their transport (methods) of getting pple to instances. If this was say a sandbox MMO that tacked on instances (like random dungeons that you have to load into) but the games structure is a sandbox, sure then it would be a little more difficult. The fact remains, SWTOR, the entire game is built around instances. Picture it is like a cargo container, sure there might be different sizes in some cases and maybe slightly different material used to make it, but in reality there is only a few set ways in which it is going to be transported... The cross server que/warzones/PVE whatever, even though it would be completely separate hardware so it could handle the load, it is still just more instances, and almost exact transport methods and structure they have in place for the hundreds of instances in the game.... how they were made and how you get to them would WORK THE SAME on a Xserver que system

  16. Theres one stealth tank, one stealth healer... seems fair

    lol?

Lets see (since you seem to be void of complex thought),

Tank needs to be in the fray to be effective = check

Tank doesn't really need to worry about positioning = check

Healer needs to worry about positioning = check

Healer (should) need to stay as much out of the fray as possible = check

    So lets summarize:

For a tank, stealth is a crutch and vastly helps their role in fight = wrong

For a healer, stealth is a crutch and vastly helps their role in a fight = check

  17. I love all you armchair developers that hop on here and tell BW how easy it is to enact crossserver when you probably know dick all about programming. But here's the link for their careers page, you should apply

    http://www.bioware.com/en/careers/

    I work in networking.

I see the passive aggressive thing is common in all teenagers.

Just by your statement as well it seems the whole concept is way over your head so I will try to explain it in "Bieber generation" language which I am not sure I can do.

SWTOR, is an MMO with *Instances*, it is NOT a sandbox. After you login and get past your first load bar, and say try to go to a diff planet.... go to your ship.... go to Fleet (2)/(1) ... these are *instances*. Warzones? Also instances.

Instances are the foundation for cross server que system. Let say you play on Bastion, and random Joe player is on PoT5. You are currently connected and playing on the instance that is hosted on those individual servers. With cross server ques in place, when you both que for say a Warzone, you will both connect to the same but completely separate and dedicated server hardware that will put you both in the SAME que list and possibly even SAME Warzone instance, still on this server that is separate from both yours and Joe's origin servers.

The only other thing special that they have to do is have anyone connected to that separate server, as soon as they are placed in an instance (Warzone, PVE whatever) they have their origin server somewhere attached to their character name to prevent issues with say someone named Bobby from Pot5 and Bobby from Bastion ending up in the same WZ *instance*

What does this also mean? If they say the engine in some way restricts them from doing this or makes it difficult? *plays buzzer noise* lie. Has nothing to do with the engine, the engine already supports and is built around instances.

If they say it would take too much time to implement? *plays buzzer noise* Half if not 75% of the things coming in the upcoming expansion would EACH take longer to do then adding xserver ques.

  18. biggest problems with op healer:

    1. What developer that isn't mentally challenged would make a STEALTH class also a healer? Can't think of any

    2. Never runs out of resources, and hots are too good

    3. too many escape tools

Underyling issues between healing vs tank vs DPS in this game:

    1. Full DPS classes (Sniper/Mara) should be able to pressure and kill a healer/guarded target the easiest out of any class no matter the spec. Sniper is above and beyond this, and overpowered atm, Mara is below it (not enough CC resistance/reflect/immunity tools)

    2. No huge healing debuff abilities in the game. Even if they are low duration and moderate cooldown, something like an ability that costs resources, does no damage, but reduces healing received on the target by 60%+ for 4s would even do wonders.

    3. No Guard counter, or anti guard ability,. Needs to be one or 2 abilities almost make guard backlash, or make the damaged caused by the one who casted the guard even more penalized.

  19. Simple solution:

Make expertise benefits ramp up, like a curved graph.

For instance 0-1000 expertise might give you 0-20% damage bonus to players. 1980-2018 exp might give you 40-60% bonus damage to players. These are examples.

This way, even removing anything in favor of a PVE piece would hurt you dramatically.

  20. It saddens me that my post here will probably get lost in this mix but I'll throw my 2 cents in on this issue.

Why I think premades should never, ever, fight pugs:

Let's pretend for a second I found an entire group of other players as good or better than me (not likely), lets also pretend for a second they all play at the same times as I do (even less likely), then lets pretend I am willing to put up with 'scheduled' PvP times and have to commit to them (even way less likely).

Pretend all of the above is true. Also pretend I am a very good player (which is true) and so are my teamates.

Now we have gone through this entire mess of rounding up a bunch of good players, who are all on at the same time. Who do I want to fight?

    A) A bunch of scrubs who are disorganized and are easy to beat.

    B) Another team of premades who think they are good, but we end up flattening them into the ground.

Yep you got that right, I wanna play option B! I don't wanna fight a bunch of disorganized idiots. I don't want an easy win. I want to play the BEST! I want to beat the BEST!

Onto the opposite side of this coin, the PUG:

When I PUG who do I want to play:

    A) A bunch of very organized very good players

    B) Another group, which have been equally determined to be just as good as my PUG

You got it right again, I want to play against option B! I don't want to get utterly destroyed simply cause the other team is coordinated and well skilled and my team is not. I want to fight an equal opponent who is just as disorganized as my PUG.

I see absolutely no benefits at all whatsoever for premades to fight PUGs. The only premades who really want to fight PUGS and get easy wins, are terrible PvPers who are probably not good enough to fight a real team.

Premade vs. Pug = should never happen, IMHO.

    100% Agree

This is the truth, right there.

This is why solo que in regs should be solo ONLY, group should be group ONLY. Premades should ONLY face premades. If you are queing with only a group of 4, well if another group is only queing with 4 then hope they are good as well or you don't get matched against a group that ques with 8.

Sure the que times maybe a little longer for premades, but at least it will filter out the people not actually queing for PVP, AKA the challenge and overcoming it, and benefit the people premading for the correct intentions.

It also gives them more of a reason to implement Xserver ques (Which is actually VERY easy considering they already have the foundation in place with instances). I just believe they haven't done Xserver ques, despite how easy it would be to add, because it would nullify the reason for anyone to transfer servers, which they currently make money on (not sure how much), but obviously they are naive and ignorant to the max if they think the current amount they make on server transfers is even an inkling of what they would make from the new/returning players because of Xserver ques, much less the pple that play now that would be more inclined to support the game financially

  21. sins are good but overrated

trust me i have 3 of them

dps wise its jugg > sage > sin atm

maybe the hybrid sage/sorc would be in that location but I don't think we were really talking about actual DPS done or classes with highest damage done in PVP, just DPS specs as a general statement to not confuse with healer/tank.

I think we were rating them as far as their ability to not only kill a target they engage but being weighted as a determining factor for winning the WZ/arena in which case Jugg and Sin would be the top of the list for DPS specs.

  22. You sir need to rework your rotation: make sure to wait 10 seconds after using spike, to use your low slash or else you won't get a duplicity proc.

Try: Recklessness > spike > discharge > shock > maul > voltaic 2x > voltaic (if no duplicity proc) > shock > low slash > maul (or CD but I never bother with it), and electrocute when they're under 30% to get the nice bonuses to your assassinate and other attacks (12% if you take both points in nerve wracking) also discharge and maul as needed in that rotation

With that rotation you will get more bang for your buck, and won't waste any globals or procs :D (except for that extra VS if you don't get any procs, but you get the idea)

My low slash is usually 10s after the spike, I have usually worked in a slow/interupt in there by then, sometimes both.

But how easy the class feels at ****** face when I do play mine, even without BiS pvp gear, or even the most efficient rotation further proves my original point.

  23. /beginderail

No mang...you're wrong. Most premades queue because they like playing with their friends and guildies (who are ordinarily their friends). Sure winning and losing matters, but I don't queue with my brother because playing with him is a guaranteed win. I queue with my brother because...well...he's my brother.

    /endderail

    yeahhhhhhh....... no

    but nice try
