  1. So... you're proposing the never-ending gear progresion to maintain attraction. Well, when would it end then? Never? Then how would you like to get fresh 50s to even try top PvP brackets - creating new brackets for EVERY new gear level? It's insane.
  2. Well, since crafters literally can't make anything usefull for PvPers it's seems quite fair.
  3. I don't know on which server do you play but I've been buying a lot lately . Since quantity of decent metals are low, I often buy everything that is avalaible. But If I have choice to spend credits on GTN and actually have that mat, or to run missions with force-know-what-result it shouldn't been surprising. BTW I'm thinking about dropping crafting at all and concentrate on mat selling. Since there are less and less of them (except mandalorian iron - i guess it's an Ilum comm vendors effect) it should be quite profitable (there's only one prometium seller on Trask atm and he wants 7k per piece!)
  4. Aha, all those billions and billions are spent in vain by clueless people for completely useless marketing. Funny fact is - those who spent a billions on marketing, earns a second one. Wonder how it works then if "normal people did not follow the trailers"
  5. How? In fact it's quite easy - stop beeing solo-superman, have your back covered and cover back of your team. And sometimes remember to use your AoEs, antiCCs and your own CCs. Learn your priority targets and focus on them with your team. It is that easy.
  6. About the reasons - well I must agree with it. This was very good, very pleasing and very emotional ad campaign, that favored one side. Marketing staff made a great job, but without coordination between marketing and gameplay top-bras we get what we have. What options do we have? Nothing safe and free from risk. Sorry BW, you're going to make the decisions that will (that must since it's already to late to do it painlessly!) hurt in the very countable measures ($ub$ that is) right after implementation, but might (however, only might) also save the game in the long run. Doing nothing will most likely limit game's attraction. 1. Sharding planet to smaller instances, but not taking whole population of players avalaible. And - most important - forcing both sides to be as even in numbers as possible by letting in only certain amount of players. Yup, most populated faction would have initially problem with entering battlezones at all. Some would unsub, some would reroll, some would abandon planet PvP and stay only on WZs. 2. OPs buff. But seeing one faction beeing favorised because the other one is stronger in nubmers can invoke massive rage and misunderstanding - eventually players unsubs. If 1 Rep can easily handle 2 Imps, while he shouldn't, it is not going to help neither the PvP, neither the game itself. 3. Drop the Ilum (and the concept of planetary battlezones) as top PvP place, and focus on the objective based WZs development and implementing arena for normal fraging. Fill Ilum (later, much much later, after the WZs and arena improvements were introduced) with standard PvE content to save it from waste... at least partialy. Idea of planetary BZs might come back when player base would stabilize. No BZs would of course mean missing one feature - which is not really encouraging for players and their cash. And one idea that would probably need a lot of work, funds and time to develop, but cannot backfire. Ok, it can but only in terms of time that gamers would have to wait for it. 4. Create Ilum a cross server instance, autobalancing in numbers, joined via PvP queing system. That would give both - people to make it massPvP and balance of both sides. And constant flow of players making ques reasonable in time. Limit might be flexible, letting more or less player in, regarding on demand and qued players. Yet I'm not even sure if it is possible from the dev side, and I'm afraid to guess how long would it take to make it, then test it, and introduce it.
  7. Funny thing how often players complain how hard it is to beat RGN... share the wisdom, I'm sure they'd be grateful to the very serious extent. Apart from this, it's nice when you use arguments like 1+1=2 and others replies with their opinion on the "2" aesthetics.
  8. "The End" gear with equal PvP stats wouldn't be less "The End" . Pride which you're describing is about others to see it, about how many diamonds this watch has at the hand's tip not how many tons you can hang on it's strap.
  9. Well, my space bar is kind of broken so I can't hit it so often
  10. Agreed. If there only was an option to freeze my exp bar I'd do it at 49 and not even one point more . Unless this expertise "feature" dissapeared (but I don't believe that would happen).
  11. Woah, wait a second. 50 lvls to gear up? Seriously? Bracket was introduced yesterday, before it was like "lololol, I have much free time so I was grinding past week, got 50 got gear and now I'll just steamroll you". Or at least "don't play PvP if you're not 50, you ruin our grind" comments. I'm not really missing 50s, low bracket is so much better without OPed inquis with tons of expertise, 2-3 shooting my 47 main just because I did not have any expertise gear at all. It would be just more enjoyable and relied on skill and understanding of your role on the field without gear grind at all. Your argument is a little bit irrelevant since you did not read carefully what did OP write, or did not understand it. The solution is: SAME STAT GEAR FOR EVERY PVP PARTICIPANT. Only thing that would differ players are skill builds and... well skills of a player himself. Simple? Simple. Brilliant. And perfect.* *Of course if we're talking about truely competitive PvP, not the steamroll fest for people who actually have too much free time to play this game all day long.
  12. Right, I forgot to mention that this turret was already defended by someone more suitable to the job and not that needed in the med run (me actually).
  13. 1. Run alone despite knowing that opposite side have OPPS/SCOUNDS 2. Ignore AoEs scaning 3. Get pwned by mediocore scound who simply was let to 4. Whine on forums for nerf 5 ??? 6 PROFIT Really... Learn to use your team to cover your back, and to cover their. Stop trying to be super-solo-man. And from time to time scan key positions with AoEs (which automaticaly pops them out of stealth, like any damage btw) - and by key position I mean your own a... back. It's that simple and you'll be fine
  14. Ah yeah, I forgot to mention the "orders? screw orders" syndrome in the first paragraph
  15. I'm not even wondering anymore why are we loosing all the time (at least on Trask, as Rep I've got maybe 10% of win). No, it's not because of 50 full geared imps. It's not even due to faction population and power imbalance. It's because of... rep's players. It's because of you, who focus on chasing frags for easy medals or 4 ppl staying at the left Civil War's cannon to get cheap def medals instead of objective focused teamplay. Because of you, who group-gank one l.20 while hammer is gaining ground toward another score in Huttball. Because of you, who have no idea what is your role on the battlefield. And today I saw most sorry MVP gaining trick ever. There's a toon on Trask called Gaux or Gaul - mid 40 sage. Healer. Wonderful you yell, at last some decent leveled healer for reps. EEEE, wrong answer! This genius was standing most of the match on left cannon, dealing damage to himself (sage's skill "sacrifice" or something like that) and healing himself all the time. Why? To get most heal stat and MVP at the end... and he got it! We could win this match, if that [autocensored] was healing main strike on mid. But noooo, cheap tricks are easier... I'm really really sorry that I don't have a habit to launch Fraps everytime I launch game. Maybe I should to have some decent fail video channel on youtube. I'm raging about this for two reason: 1. If you ever see him... well, be warned. I can't exhort you to do him anything bad, since it's against rules 2. Do not ever give MVP votes easily - reward players who's been doing good job, not the one with most beautiful end stats.
  16. Well, you're relativaly right - in comparison with launch of Battlefield 3, SWTOR is polished to the highest glare product
  17. You'd have to posses active pause to actually use your companion without it... now imagine that in MMO
  18. Sooo... we'd be left with a chain: get a quest -> go to spaceport -> run to shuttle -> run through station and airlock -> fly (looooaaaaadiiiiing) -> run through station and airlock -> run to quest objective. On Voss, at least as smuggler I get your point, but at this very moment any planet-switching quests would be only a pain and a great deal of whine. But if you have sacrifice few minutes to actually go to ship, or to get through spaceport only (damn you Corruscant!) it's getting annoying time-sink, not fun.
  19. Timely restricted would probably be the best solution. If we can have 18h cooldown fleet pass, why not make 18 (30? 60? 90?) days AC switch ticket? Easy, abuse-proof (one possible abuse during xx days? I think we can live with that) system that gives player the option.
  20. That would be nice, but I'm afraid it's not going to happen . And reverting to old UO seems to be meaningless, since there are less and less decent shards without ganking pro-squads
  21. Look out, I earned a warning for bumping a poll thread Generally the ship-thing have to be polished. At first my biggest dissapointment - it's a online game and I'm forced to fly solo? WTH? Second - rails were cool 15 or 20 years ago when pistol coin machines with Virtua Cop were popular. But nowadays? And when above were changed we can talk about visual customisation.
  22. Player's impact on the world EVE revolves around player, all trade, politics and so on and so... is players (or should I rather say - guilds) centric. The idea of taking battlezones for benefits was just great in WAR. Class and skill system "The more you use, the more it rise" system of skills of Ultima Online (remember it yet?). Generaly I would really like to see outdated talent tree and fixed class system went away, and get something that resembles your hero creation in TES. Or to fix skills with inventory elements - for example instead granting specific classes, or specs, certain skills, to make them a part of equipment (let's say that I rolled Scoundrel - that would not grant me a stealth, I'd have to purchase a set of camo belt, plus mods for armor to increase stealth efficiency). Some items might had been bound to class, other would be open (it's all a matter of balance).
  23. It's not restricted to gifts missions. Running UT metal/fabric missions with my smugg sometimes drops me blueprints (armors for sith force users =.=).
  24. Erm... First of all, it is already happening - just go to AC subforum, torhead and all this community and build-oriented sites and read posts to know who got better dps. How respecing would create situation that already exists? Second - he would change AC... yup, loosing his whole best DPS... yup. And? Yes, he would get second AC with all pros and cons. What is so dreadful in it? Aha, so you are saying that people would automaticaly choose highest dps AC. Oh wait... they already know what is the best dps AC!
  25. Erm... again (and again, and again and still waiting for the answer from no-noes and still none occured) - how would it hurt the game? Because I see one pretty serious reason why forcing harms me - I've got some RL obligations, and my day still counts only 24h. Because it's exactly same content for releveling same class with different spec. Because grind since there's no different way is BORING. Because I pay for play to be entertained not bored to death. And this whole problem - serious one - is possible to solve with such simple option, yet meeting so incomprehensible opposition. So at least tell me at last - why not?
