TROLLING?! I just related my experience kok-head! and FYI no one except perhaps the Mid-West of the U.S. still use dial-ups for internet connection.

Using a one year old rig geared for high end gaming and with an internet connection well capable of smooth video download even during daily peak times it took me SIX FLIPPIN HOURS (!!!!) to download and install patch 2.0. While I am grateful they are attending to urgent fixes today with another 2 hour down time and another patch to download and install I fail to see how meaningful this early access is before the expansion is rolled out to the rest of the gaming population from this weekend. This early access is more of a joke if you actually hold a full time job or full time studies (which I am assuming relates to majority of folks that play this game) since your daily window to actually get acquainted with the numerous significant changes and then to actually get around to playing the new content is small. My primary toon is a Lev 50 Bounty Hunter (RDPS) in gear which has a blend of lev 25-27 armoring, enhancement, augments and mods. I have just brought a Sith Sorc to Lev 50 as a RDPS which I am happy to respec as a healer if required. Looking forward to hearing from someone

I had a look at the thread which had a list of guilds for this server and noted that it was no longer being updated hence this thread. Dalborra is my home server and I have just left a guild due to fading interest by its current leaders to keep the pistons hammering. I have a Lev 50 Mercenary (RDPS) in a mixture of black-hole and rakata level gear, slowly shifting into campaign level gear. I also have a newly graduated Lev 50 sith sorc which I levelled as RDPS but will be happy to explore Healing spec if so required. I am interested in joining a PVE guild on Dalborra with weekly scheduled (I am located at GMT +8) Ops and FPs. Please drop me a note if you are recruiting. Thank you.

Has anyone managed to run SWTOR on Windows 8 successfully? I tried and only got as far as the SWTOR window that gave me the option to hit 'Play' or 'Exit'. I clicked 'Play' and failed to get any response or proceed any further (i.e. the game did not proceed to the usual loading screen / sequence). Looking forward to reading about the experience of others who have tried especially since alot of machines sold off the shelf today come with Windows 8 pre-loaded. Cheers!

So this issue has been dragged out for quite some time now. Its known and acknowledged by players and the developers of the game that the population on the Oceanic servers need either consolidation on a single APAC server or a migration to one or more of the U.S. servers (thats where we all started when the game was launched anyways so no drama about there being a defacto APAC server again). Could BIOWARE do something about this instead of keeping players on this part of the planet in a constant fog about what they intend to do? Some response, time-table or indication that steps are being taken to resolve this will assist to diffuse the frustration among players who really want to play this game. Silence only serves to (further) piss off paying players

Is it just me or has SWTOR evolved in ways that it is starting to possess less and less the features that defined Star Wars and more some generic sci-fi mmorpg game? Just curious about what the community thinks.

/SIGNED The server transfer exercise for the U.S. servers took place many months ago. One would have thought rolling that out for the APAC servers wouldve been staggered out to perhaps a few months later. Yet, despite the mounting evidence which suggest a server merger / consolidation of servers will bring more pluses than minuses those of us who play this game from this part of the planet are still left wondering about whether this will even take place in the near term. In the mean time they will be mailing you fireworks to your nearest in-game post-box /facepalm

as a post-script: I am genuinely curious to know where they are going to get the funding and resources necessary to keep investing in meaningful and interesting development (mid game AND end game, if I dare to be that hopeful) with this new hybrid "pricing" model and is it truly sustainable - unless unbeknown to the playerbase they quietly expect it to slowly wither and die away over the next 12 or more months (if not less). These new developments they have promoted as part of this new chapter for the game may be nothing more than a bait n hook to tease back players who have left and retain subs that have one foot out of the door. Is this sustainable and will there be meaningful development of end game activities since most f2p type players tend not to linger around for too long because if they did they'd pick up a subscription and hope for the best. Too many questions and all I have is dashed expectations given what this game was promised and developed to be.

Mate, can you say, with hand on heart, based on the trend and precedence set thus far by games that have gone f2p in one form or another, most, if not all, have not descended into nickle and diming their players if those players wanted to acquire some in-game advantage? I suspect they will start with fluff just to test the reception and temperature from the player base and slowly and ever so subtly start to introduce p2w items along with some marketing spin and spiel to justify such a development. Because of my long standing love for the IP i will stay subbed for now however I will remain ever alert to the above taking place and with the first sign of something like this taking place they will be down by one more subscriber - I can say this with hand on heart. I am still dumbfounded they have resorted to this with the game less than a year into its life span. So much potential so frikken wasted in the hands of those without the talent or the foresight to take this to the next level - what a waste! I am also confused with LA permitting such a precious IP to be tarnished in this fashion. Is this the long feared death-knell for this game? I dont know. The months that will follow this unfortunate change will speak for themselves. As one of the earlier subscribers to this game, I will remain ever alert to how this evolves. In the mean time, I know 5 friends who have decided (within 24 hours of the news release) to allow their sub to expire. *sigh

ANOTHER EFFIN PATCH IN THE SAME WEEK??!!! IS THIS A GODDAAAAMNED JOKE???!!! Yesterday's patch locked me out of the game for about 3 hours (nothing wrong with my new high speeced gaming rig)!!! what the eff, man???!!!

So I am told by a friend who's a veteran of mmorpg that the population for this game has now stabilised and it is unlikely to increase until / unless some major earth moving content is added to jump start a fresh flood of subs again and in the absence of something like that it is likely that the game will begin its slow slide down leaving only hardcore fans as its player base and by implication little incentive for EA / BW to invest any more $ to develop and add more content to the game resulting in a self feeding spiral down- does anyone have any thoughts about this?

So this first phase of transfers was tightly controlled as far as origin and destination was concerned - for obvious and understandable reasons. Its apparent there are folks who would have preferred a little more say on where they wanted to move their toon. Personally there are other servers I would ve preferred my toons to go - any idea if paid transfers will become available and if so has there been any indication of when this might be offered up?

BTW, what do you mean by "i cannot get past those crits"? Ive got an identical toon to yours and Im curious now about how this is gonna impact my newly arrived level 50 Arsenal Merc.
