  1. I can't speak for the Jugg as I've only leveled a Sent/Mara. But am currently leveling both a PT (17) and a Van (26) and just love the play style. both are my first attempts at playing the tank role. I do PVE and PVP with both and have a blast. I think I have a lot of survivability compared to other classes I've PvPed. and, who cares what these people say about being nerfed etc. Go to any class forum and you dont see people complain about being OP, every class/tree complains about getting nerfed. Do what you think is most fun, and at the end of the day, you wont worry about min/maxing, you'll have a good time and generally perform better cause you wont be stressing over stats.
  2. Can any Devs at least give us an ETA for when the Cartel Market will have the permanent Cool Down to Quick Travel available for purchase? Its stated in the differences between Subscribers, Preferred and F2P options that a Permanent reduction to the cool down is available for purchase in the Cartel Market. Am I just missing it?
  3. So the general Order is Modded orange Item gear with all level 50 modifications Tionese / exotech Columi Rakata Black Hole There are several Flashpoints and Operations specific for level 50 players. Some of them are much harder than others as they have heavier hitting enemies and / or the bad guys have a lot more hit points. So the gist is, there is a progression of these Flashpoints and Operations and as you complete them you slowly start getting these better levels of gear. You also start getting Commendations that you would use to buy certain gear pieces from some vendors. An example is you can buy Rakata implants by collecting 120 daily commendations for each. The Black Hole ear piece is fairly easy to obtain from just running the black hole dailies and accumulating enough Black Hole Comms. So as your gear gets better you will then be able to survive the more dificult Flashpoints and operations. then you'll be able to start doing these same missions in Hard Mode. Hard Mode adds additional mechanics to the mission which make it more difficult. Sometimes there are extra bosses and sometimes you fight the same bosses but they behave differently. I hope this helps you understand it a bit more. i'm also still trying to gear up my first lvl 50 atm.
  4. I played Combat Spec. I think its a lot of fun. Some say it has more of an 'authentic' jedi feel to it because its mostly lightsaber attacks that you use. With Watchman you are focused on DoT's. The Focus tree is more of an AOE tree. It looks fun to try, but I've never done it.
  5. I just enjoy it when Doc is getting ganked and I'm cleaning up a mob. When I jump back to save his rear he usually says... "Did you not notice my Jedi friend?" Gets me every time
  6. I guess I just dont understand then. I am loving Combat now more than before. I have only ever played 1 PvP match (Huttball) and it was ok, but i had no idea what i was doing. I guess since I never PvP I just dont see what these PvP abilities are that you are referring to (OP) since just about everything i have skill points in is useful. Better animations and upped DPS, Its hard for me to actually keep up with my Sent, before I felt I was waiting on glitchy animations etc to continue my rotation. And who uses force sweep? Maybe i've just been doing Heroics for so long now, that it just seems like a wasted ability. It wont incapacitate anything that isn't normal. So it has no affect on Silver and above. Leap, Zealous, Precision, Blade Storm, Master, (maybe cuterize right here), Pop Zen, Blade Rush
  7. I agree with LeonBraun. As a 43 Combat Spec, i have had a blast playing this game. i've solo'd all my class quests and go through them on the first try, with the exception of Darth Angral (took about 4 tries) and Lord Scourge (2nd time was the charm). I really dont care that Watchman hits for more damage, for me its all about perception. And as far as I'm concerned, I blow throw Golds and mobs with great speed using the above mentioned rotations. once you get Doc, things go even faster as you really dont ever have to worry about health. No, I have not tried Watchman before, so what? If I can cut throw enemies as fast as I do, is saving a second or two with Watchman going to make me enjoy the class anymore? Probably not. Sure you could say the 1 or 2 sec is the difference between life and death, but I've only had that problem at 2 points in the game. The animations are great, the "feel" is what I would expect a Jedi is actually supposed to fight like. I guess bottom line is if you are more of a Min/Maxer then go Watchman. I just think that you get more immersion playing Combat.
  8. I play combat and it is a blast. Sure all the watchman bash playing combat but idc. I have so much fun playing and the story is great. I do think of speccing to focus just because it seems like it would be fun for melee AOE damage. But for now, I am very satisfied playing combat. I'm level 43 btw...
  9. Leap, Precision, Zealous, Blade Storm, Pommel Strike (For the normal trash), Then depending on what I'm killing, I'll add on Master Strike, Blade Rush, Slash, Zealous, Slash... ad nauseum. Something nice to think of is that if you are running into something and have Zen ready to go, then you can activate it mid leap so that you land with Zen active and go straight into a more buffed rotation. Same is also true for Saber Ward, fyi.
  10. Back to the OP, I found it was a bit tough at first, especially compared to my commando. The DPS curve is slow to catch up to others. But now, I'm just cranking out DPS. I'm Combat Spec. The two biggest things that made a difference for me toward the end of Act 1 is getting a good rotation that makes sense, and learning to always send Kira in before jumping in myself. At Level 35, it took me 3 or 4 tries to finally kill Angral. Even then, The literal second after I killed him, a DOT he had on my killed me. So we were both laying there dead. Since Act 1 though, it seems that I have had fewer problems with putting out enough damage, and staying alive. Also, my DPS then got high enough that once I got Doc, I didn't need any additional DPS from Kira, and Doc was up to keeping me alive. So I am able to cut through trash mobs and mobs of silvers just as fast as before (with Kira) with Doc making sure i dont die. I guess to sum it up, you may need to rethink your rotation, and rethink your strategy.
  11. I'm also playing Assault right now (Level 20) and am wanting to dump my remaining 10 points into gunnery. Could you relink your skills as they break when I click on them. "Server 500 Error" I have thought of trying a hybrid role, but it goes against most things I've experienced with building Chars. I guess I just need to make that leap.
  12. I personally like the mobility of Assault over the more turret style of Gunnery. This is what I'm working towards right now. I'm not too interested in anything that gives healing as I have Elara and medpacks for staying alive. http://www.torhead.com/skill-calc#800ZMIkZfhMrzGhrs.1
  13. Ruling out Combat Medic, there are two schools of thought. Gunnery is a more Turret (Stand and shoot) based style of play and Assault is a more mobile (Run and Gun) style of play. So if you have a preference for one or the other, then that would be the skill tree you want. Combat medic is a bit of a different beast. You still get the same dmg for trooper attacks, but you get the whole healing aspect. I know you said you have a sage so you might not want to try another healer, although, the healing mechanic (from what I've heard) for Combat Medic is very different than sage. There is not AoE healing as much. I played a lot of FPS, this is also my first MMO, so I chose Assault to maintain some semblence of that game play. As far as which is better and all that malarky, it all comes down to preference.
  14. I'm Assault Spec, but I'm not quite to 20 and just landed on Taris. You kind of already said why I picked Assault, and thats because it's not turret style the way Gunnery is. I only have a build that i am working towards, but it's by no means complete. Again, I'm lvl 19.
  15. It is sad that the Trooper story line isn't more epic. Still finishing Act 1. While I still enjoy every minute of it, i do miss the grand army feel an FPS gives. But I would even welcome a game experience similar to Gears of War. You and your buddy covering for each other. Radio chatter happening between all your companions. It is unrealistic to think we will get this experience though since we have to share our worlds with all the other story lines that are more geared at Solo type play. I think it would be awesome if you would have multiple objectives on a mission and you could pick which ones you wanted to do and which ones you wanted your companions to complete. and every few waypoints you come together in a small cinematic to see how the mission is progressing. Give different orders to your other companions and move on. it would essentially use the same mechanic as the Crew Missions, but give the appearance of something a little different. It would allow you to gain/lose points with those companions based on if you send them on favorable situations (side missions) that can give you a bonus on you completing your end mission.
