  1. SO MUCH WHINING! I am convinced that 9/10 people complaining on the forums have never played an MMO at launch. This game is head and shoulders above pretty much every game I have played at launch. I am excited for what BW has planned for 1.2 and beyond. I enjoy playing this game, some things frustrate me, but I expect that. If this game makes you so mad, leave. I'm sure you will be running back in a year after BW is fully into the groove of things and WoW has finally flushed itself down the s h i t t e r for good.
  2. Can you elaborate at all on what sort of plans you have for the legacy system and is there any sort of timetable for their release? This is a feature that I am sure I am not alone in being excited over and any hints would be awesome.
  3. Cool, thanks for the responses! I am excited to get home and roll my smuggler. Any other tips or insight is still appreciated.
  4. At lvl 30 just do your quests and you should be fine... I hit level 50 with almost 1 million credits simply from questing, and selling rare drops on the AH (albeit I only bought the 90% speeder). Underworld trading can be pretty profitable between companion gifts and metals/fabrics too.
  5. I am going to make a character on a new server that i found out some old MMO buddies are playing on and I am trying to decide what class to play. I currently have a lvl 50 Gunnery Commando and I enjoy playing him. I want to roll a ranged class and I think that I want to heal (that is my primary MMO background). I have considered rolling another Trooper and going Combat Medic, but I would feel kind of lame running through the same storyline (which was mediocre to begin with). I already have a Sage I have leveled a bit so I am not sure that I want to make another. That leaves me with the Smuggler. I have a few questions about the class though before I get started. It is likely that this toon will become my main, so I want to make sure I pick the right class. 1) Is healing as a Smuggler viable, both in PvE and PvP? All I have really heard is the QQ'ing from a couple Smuggler healers on my server, but maybe they are just bad. I know Sage is the cream of the crop, but I am just not real turned on by the class. I basically just want to make sure I would not be investing time into a gimped class/spec. 2) How is the Smuggler storyline? Did you enjoy it? how is it compared to other storylines you have played? 3) How is leveling as a Smuggler? As a Trooper leveling is pretty much just easy mode. I dont really care if leveling as a Smuggler is slightly harder, but I dont want it to be really slow. I like to be challenged in WZ's and FP's, not while leveling..lol. Those are pretty much my main questions. Feel free to throw in any other info you feel is relevant. Thanks.
  6. I have no idea. But I personally dont see the problem. It is no different than if I told my friend Bob I would make him a sandwich if he gave me 10k credits. Your vent server thus you can ask for people to give you in game credits for access if you want to. The other side to things - where you are using REAL LIFE money to purchase in game things - is where the issues arise. Companies dont like this because you are using their product for your own financial gain at no benefit to them. In the situation you are describing there is really no effect on either Bioware or w/e company runs the Vent servers. Alas, logic rarely prevails in real life, so I have no idea whether this is actually the case or not.
  7. Hey guys. So I have been sitting at 50 for a week or so now and I have been PvP'ing a lot and running some heroic FP's. The guild that I am in does not have the members to fill a 8 man raid, however I am not sure I that I want to commit the time that I have in the past to join a raiding guild. With that said I would still like to participate in some raiding and thus I am curious as to whether Eternity Vault (Normal) is puggable. From what I have been reading it would seem like it should be with a semi-competent group. I have met enough people through PvP and FP's that I think I might be able to set something up that could be successful. What do you all think? Thanks.
  8. 1) Armor piercing allows you to regen ammo through hammer shot and full auto, and 35% armor pen is still pretty useful. 2) The only talent you would use in the Gunnery tree that has anything to do with Stockstrike would be Concussive force. You are mostly getting it to upgrade your concussion charge, but the small knockback on stockstrike is very handy; use it to interrupt, knock ppl off ledges, create distance, get ppl off your healer or ball carrier in huttball etc etc.. 3) I dont understand how you could not have experienced pushback in pvp..? Casting GR for example, when you get attacked while channeling it your cast time will get pushed back. it is absolutely essential to have pushback reduction talents.
  9. Cool. Thanks for the replies.
  10. I am planning on leveling a Sage nearly exclusively through PvP (probably a bit of FPs as well) since I miss healing. My question is what valor rank can I expect upon hitting 50? I am really just curious. Plus, does gear really matter whatsoever in the 10-49 bracket? The bolster buff pretty much brings everyone in line regardless of gear, is this correct? I am just curious seeing as I will not be getting gear through quests whether I should worry about crafting it or buying it. Thanks.
  11. If you take time to enjoy the storyline and the game it will take you 5-7 days of playing time to finish. You could blow through it in four-ish, but there is no point really until end game content is more polished. Anything more than 7 days seems borderline impossible unless you are really dilly-dallying. EDIT: This is based off of leveling through quests and doing just a bit of PvP (maybe valor rank 15 by the time you hit 50). I dont know how lots of PvP would effect leveling time.
  12. What is your crit rating Arch? I only recently hit 50 so my crit rating unbuffed is only like 28%. Thus why I have to weave hammer shot in more. I have heard that 40% raid buffed is fairly easy, which equates to what like 34% unbuffed? Just trying to judge where I am at right now.
  13. Please explain to me how it is easier to get ppl in vent or a premade for the 10-15 Lvl 50 republic players online versus a pool of 20-30 for the Imperials. That makes zero sense. More ppl = easier to find ppl to play with. Sounds like you are just rationalizing getting beat in pvp. With that said, feel free to roll republic...
  14. Are you seriously whining about the faction imbalance from an Imperial point of view?
