  1. Don't really mind getting tossed around by Arcaan, hes the son of what essentially amounts to an unkillable force deity, of course hes going to be really hard to take down. What DID bug me was Vaylin getting her but handed to her by Senya while I'm getting rekt by Arcaan. Vaylin is even more powerful than Arcaan and my companion just takes her down like it was nothing. Really makes me question why they bothered to de-carbonite me at all, coulda just sicced Senya on everyone.
  2. Exactly. "We are trained to fight force users could mean. "We have been trained to fight the instinct to brings our hand to our throat when you start choking us, and will be shooting at you instead." Or "We are especially good at landing on out feet after getting tossed around."
  3. Yup. Pretty sure even Palps and Vader would at the very least be neutral, maybe even lightside on this scale by virtue of not being stupid. Many Dark side choices are just beyond stupid, sure they are evil, but they are evil and really stupid. If you are playing a competent character, you are always going to wind up with some light side points, by virtue of not doing stupid stuff. There are several examples of this in the Imp side planet quest line on Belsavis. You get sent to free prisoners to lead a prison riot. You have the option of freeing experienced rebel commanders or not freeing them and instead freeing a bunch of random sociopaths that will attack anyone and everyone. Now, both these actions could be classified as evil, as you are breaking extremely dangerous criminals out of maximum security prison to lead a riot to kill republic personnel. But freeing the rebel leaders is the obvious, smart choice for anyone remotely interested in seeing their objective of a well lead force of rioters met. It happens to be the option that nets you lightside points. Freeing the random sociopaths, which will accomplish nothing, nets darkside points. So you get LS points for being pragmatically evil, but DS points for being stupid evil. This is a pattern that repeats itself a lot, especially on the imperial side of things.
  4. The Three World Adult Novels are 1. Jedi Trial 2. Ruins of Dantooine 3. Crucible Honorable mentions include The Crystal Star and Revan. Glove of Darth Vader doesn't count because it was aimed at a younger audience.
  5. I imagine Vader will stay pretty much the same. Rebels looks to have the inquisitor to kick around so Vader doesn't get the Grievous treatment and wind up as a punchline.
  6. TCW, Rebels and the movies. Plus the books and comics to be released after the announcement are also canon. That would include Tarkin Lords Of the Sith Heir To The Jedi A New Dawn Darth Maul: Son OF Dathomir As well as any books or comics released going forwards.
  7. The real question is, are we getting ANH camp and lightheartedness along with the serious stuff. or is this series going full Glove Of Darth Vader on us. Too early to tell, but if I see a "Save the whaladons" arc, I'm out.
  8. As a character, I prefer HK-47, who I'm a massive fan of., and TBH I've always though that I Think Therefore I Am was rather silly. But the evidence in IG-88s favor is overwhelming. He was simply the superior killing machine. HK vs 4-LOM would be more fair in my personal opinion.
  9. Would make sense that even if the empire isn't in charge that its still around. Luke and Co. may have cut off the head but it was still a massive organization.
  10. IG-88 Hacked The Death Star I think he could manage getting though whatever HK has protecting his programing.
  11. I have to agree with IG-88. As Wolf pointed out, he has all the physical advantages, and a Starship. Boba Fett was able to out-wit IG despite being outmatched because of Organic unpredictability, but Droids like HK lack that kind of adaptability, not to mention HKs assassination Protocols are going to be very outdated.
  12. Gonna nominate the Jedi Exile Meetra Surik. Have to agree with Dooku, the fact that he can go toe to toe with Yoda on several occasions (despite being beaten every time he at least held his own.) and live to tell about it. I mean this is Yoda, the guy basically waves his hands and tells Ventress "Your out of you league kid, get lost before I have to hurt you" and she bolts.
  13. I wasn't mocking you (TBH I hadn't even read your post when I typed my response). I was mocking the OP and the idea that the EU should be discarded just because some of the stuff in it is pretty bad. The argument really doesn't hold up when half of the movies and a significant portion of the TV show were pretty bad themselves . I thought your post was reasonable, there is some stuff in the EU I'm not overly sad to see go myself and yes Palps is the most powerfull sith lord. Just like he was before the announcement. But especially after the announcement nobody still technically still present in the disneyverse can come close to even licking his boots. The Mando stuff I 100% agree with too, oh and if Ashoka show up in episode seven, I'm walking out of the theater.
  14. Yeah thank god that crazy stuff like Darth Maul without explanation randomly showing halfway across the galaxy from naboo as a cybernetic spider. Or Count Dooku the powerful lord of the Sith getting captured by mere pirates. Or Anakin having an apprentice for no reason that randomly disappears and then is never mentioned again, or Sy Snootle having a romantic relationship with a Hutt 20 times her size. Yeah, Thank god all that stuff is no longer canon. Oh wait..........
  15. If Disney stick a legends tag on it that means it is no longer part of the same universe and therefore all need for coherency is totally lost. This is the reason why they tossed the entire EU. So they didn't have to try to be coherent with the new movies.
  16. You know something just occurred to me. If Disney declares this game "Legends" then there is nothing stopping bioware from writing that the empire actually won the war in this universe. Imperial victory suddenly becomes a very possible outcome of the war instead of something we know won't happen. I really hate the dumping of the EU, like really really really hate it. But these are the thing we now must consider.
  17. Incidentally neither is this game. Funny how that works. But I believe both were recited in TCW making it Disney canon and not just EU.
  18. So right now the Disneyverse stands at three good movies, three terrible movies and a horrible disgrace of a children's TV show and nothing else. The EU still exists but its no longer the "official" story while having over twenty years of world building and many books, video games and TV shows of varying quality (the best of which are better than the movies themselves, even the three good ones). I suppose the one good piece of news is that there will be a new EU (with four books already announced) and Disney has already stated these books (as well as the ones to be released going forward) are no questions asked -as canon as the movies. Which is something GL never ever would have done or said ever. So the people dancing on the EUs grave and celebrating that they no longer have to read ( O.O god forbid) to get the full story may be celebrating prematurely.
  19. They still have to make good movies first. If the entire EU got wiped for phantom menace 2.0 there will still be complaints. Not just because of the EU, but because they made a horrible movie.
  20. Was half of the EU pretty bad? yes, but so were half of the movies. Sad to see the good stuff go. Some of the best stuff (Mindor, Shatterpoint, Kenobi, Yoda: Dark Rendezvous) stand alone and don't contradict anything, so its possible they get saved, you never know.
  21. I don't think anything could be more terrible than TCW, though if this group of teenage rebels winds up finding the death star plans and/or saving the whole rebellion repeatedly that might do it. Or if Ashoka is even mentioned, let alone reappears.
  22. Allright these are the first four books of the new universe. Lets see how much Lucino can salvage.
  23. Saddening but not surprising. Of course Disney would destroy over 20 years of world and character building, most of it far superior to the movies (especially the prequels) in order that they wouldn't have to actually pay attention to anything. But whatever, it wasn't the god awful prequels or the terribly written embarrassment to the franchise they called TCW that kept me into star wars all these years, it was the books and comics and KOTORs, and I still have all of those. So Disney can pretend that those stories and writers never existed and peddle whatever warped version of the universe they want. But I have the real Star Wars, its on my bookshelf and on my computer.
