    Synthweaving

It's been mentioned a few times before. Its not the only level it happens at, and you'll notice as you progress through Synthweaving that the names make very little sense (you eventually get multiple versions of each slot per tier, seemingly named by what your role would be, but the names and stats don't match). Light armor has a good deal more issues than Heavy/Medium for Synth, and I've heard from Cybertech friends that they have some trouble spots as well with things not making sense.
  2. Jedi Knight's first companion is a Droid, Troopers get a big droid as a companion. Probably others as well that I am not aware of, and as mentioned above, your ship droid when properly equipped is a decent healer.
  3. This is actually wrong, and part of the confusion. Red can be equipped by Neutral and Dark anything, Blue by Neutral and Light anything. Hence the odd wording on the tooltips of 'Forbidden to...' in order to include neutral.
  4. No, you're reading the tooltip incorrectly. It says FORBIDDEN to Dark 1 and above. This means Dark 1, Dark 2, Dark 3, Dark 4 and Dark 5 cannot use it. You're Dark 2, so you can't use it. Only Neutral, and Light anything can use it. Maybe the 'above' was confusing you, because light is above dark on the slider, I could see that, but in this case above means a rank higher than 1.
  5. Current thinking/feeling seems to be Sorcerer has an easier time DPSing, much of that due to being at range. That said, its still very early, there will be changes to all classes for balance reasons, and what is true today might not be true in a week/month/year. So I'd say to you, play the one you think looks like more fun! Every class has its ups and downs and ups and downs in MMOs.
  6. There's an entrance to the side of the mountain, its an entire face practically, I think a bit to the south if I remember correctly. Once you start going down that way you'll see the giant green entrance. That'll let you go in and follow a trail up.
  7. Armortech and Synthweaving oranges. I've found a pretty even split of both, but probably only 6 or so total working up to 260ish skill.
  8. http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=138897 There's the current list of Crew Skill bugs. The relevant one here: Underworld Trading The Rich Yield Tier 6 Underworld Trading Metals missions are mislabeled. They should be called Moderate, not Rich. This is evident both from the cost of the mission and the amount of resources it yields.
  9. There's a bug with UWTrading that has been posted a few times. Those missions that say Rich Grade 6 are really Moderate Grade 6 (Or Abundant? I can't remember exactly). You'll notice the time and cost are the same as the lower one. There aren't supposed to be any Rich Grade 6 missions. The abundant aren't showing up instead though.
  10. Did this last night at level 38, TK Sage. Certainly some hard fights, I died to the first group I saw (not even that hard of one, just two Siths and a normal, I didn't expect them to be as hard as they were), but then got them down one after another. For the groups of 3 Siths, my biggest problem was, as TK, not being able to keep both myself and Qyzen up against them. I'd Force Lift the Sorcerer, send Qyzen at one and fight the other myself, both of us pre-shielded. I'd fight mine, and Qyzen his, I'd re-shield him when the timer allowed, but typically when my sith was at 20% Qyzen would somehow grab aggro on it and soon drop under two of them hitting him. At that point both siths were at 10-15% health though, so I'd stun one, reshield myself, and drop them one at a time pretty quick. Healed myself up and then took down the sorcerer solo. I found my best bet was to let him cast Force Storm, and just run far away from its target area rather than bother interrupting it, and instead knock out his Force Lightnings. That pretty well nullified all his attacks so I had no issue solo. I never did finish one of those groups of 3 with Qyzen alive, but got them all without a death of my own. Seems a lot of those having problems were heal specced? Maybe the extra damage of TK helped me, though I wasn't able to use any of my instant-TKWaves out of fear of breaking Force Lift.
  11. You're looking at it the wrong way. Its comparing what the stats would change to when putting the purple on. So the -aim is correct, the purple has less. The part that is wrong is the min/max damage, the purple has more, and its saying less.
  12. Yes, they can be. And then, even crazier, then purple can be RE'd again to get a better purple with the final prefix. Check the Reverse Engineering Guide at the top.
  13. I'd be under the impression that (Rating ###) was strictly the damage rating. And the purple item does have a higher damage range by a very good margin. In fact, something seems off with that tooltip comparison. Its saying -70 max damage, -49 min damage, when the purple has 53 higher max damage and 37 higher min damage. It also isn't acknowledging the +47 critical and +47 alacrity of the purple either. Unless the Tech Power difference is being calculated into that? 80 less tech power equal the change in min/max? I'm not sure, never paid that close attention to the tooltips I guess.
  14. I'm Full TK right now, level 33 all points in TK. At 32 I put my third point into Telekinetic Momentum, and definitely no longer see the extra proc damage ever. I'll put my point for 34 into Tremor and see if that helps. Certainly saw lots of procs at 1/3, I don't recall for 2/3.
  15. REing purples does not give oranges. Oranges come from Mission Skills, Armortech and Synthweaving ones from Underworld Trading specifically, I'm not sure on Armstech/Artifice for Weapons/Sabers.
  16. I think the problem is the game gives you your first few recipes upon getting the skill, rather than making you buy them from the trainer. Probably should be a quest that comes up 'Buy two recipes from your skill trainer!' and then no one would be stuck ever again!
  17. This exact topic comes up 10+ times a day, its sort of funny. All these people stuck at 65 skill. There should be a sticky called "IF YOU'RE STUCK AT 65 SKILL CLICK HERE" with a body that says: Crew skill trainers have new recipes for you as you increase in skill.
  18. What skill level are you? They show up as you get a bit higher. You can also find them out in the wild as nodes (they'll look like stone slates/tablets). But they eventually do show up in the mission list, 'Ancient Artifact Mission' I believe.
  19. His point was that the other two healing classes' default attack gets a small boost in damage from their primary stat and Seer doesn't. Its our only attack that requires 0 focus energy, so while minor, its a slight imbalance that the other heal classes default attack scales with them and ours doesn't.
  20. "The healer's fault" trope. You'll get over the feeling in time, when you realize there's a limit to what you can do to correct others mistakes. You can't heal stupid. If you're very lucky, you'll even gain the cocky arrogance of a truly cynical healer. "If you don't stop that, I'm going to let you die." And you'll also now be a better DPS player, realizing there are limits to what a healer can do and that there are things you can do to make it easier!
  21. From my experience, as you increase in skill the level (meaning, abundant, rich, moderate, etc) gets better. Also, the number of available missions increases. There's some randomness to this each time the mission list refreshes. So at certain points, you just barely unlock the next tier level, but your random pull of possible missions comes back blank. Wait a bit and maybe once or two will show up there later. Or do some of the lower tier and you'll get more skill and you'll be more likely to have stuff show.
  22. As a Jedi Sage who accidentally bought two commendation light sabers while trying to preview them... (Ctrl-click... why isn't this working... ctrl-click... wait why did the price just turn red?) I fully support a 'sell-back' or prompt for spending tokens!
  23. Get him some Jedi robes! All the Force Armor Heavy pieces are strength based (for Jedi guardians). I think Jedi Guardians are the only strength based heavy armor class, so that is probably all you'll find.
  24. The consular trainer teaches sage skills. There's a tab at the bottom to switch between Consular abilities and Sage abilities.
