Your example is basically saying that there's not as much benefit to having high weapon damage, but has nothing to do with power, since power will give the same benefit to any attack regardless of whether it's ranged, melee or force. At the same time, by having high weapon damage you're also increasing your tech power, which is in turn buffing the strength of your tech attacks, so there is a point in having high weapon damage as well as high power, even if the weapon damage itself isn't impacting your abilities.

Inaccurate. Power gives you the same amount of bonus ranged damage as it does bonus tech damage. Also you should really be focussing on crit / surge ratings rather than flat percentages, since bonus crit you get from cunning etc isn't calculated in the DR.

The only two pub guilds currently attempting NM EC (as far as I know, I may be wrong, am going by data from the raid progression thread which may be outdated) are TEHEE and Reverence. I haven't seen much from either of these guilds on the PvP side of things, but hopefully that will give you some avenues to investigate, and maybe some people here can shed some light on the subject that I am unable to provide.

Although NS is a social guild, we put a heavy emphasis on raiding and don't recruit casual players. Here's hoping you can find something that's tailored to your needs!

There's no harm in asking around though. I don't know what their recruitment is like, but TA, Gimp, Cats and MW are the guilds you'd be looking for I'd think (see above for non-abbreviated versions). If none of them are openly recruiting or willing to give you a trial run, just play some solo games and after a while people will notice how you're playing due to the relatively small player pool. If you make a good impression I'm sure people will seek you out.

Good point. Samurai Pizza Cats is also a republic PvP guild borne out of the recently deceased MvP (this slipped my mind, hence missing them in my previous post). Notorious Synergy is a raiding guild with plenty of PvP members, but is also not currently recruiting. RtS is a new guild formed of ex-NS players, and I am working under the assumption that they are exclusively inviting players only that Carthy approves of, so GL with that one.

The bigger PvP guilds (as far as I know) are as follows: Pub side: Terra Australis, A Little Bit Gimp, Mind Walkers Imp Side: Order of Chaos, Seraphic Nexus I'm sure you can get into contact with people from these guilds, but I can't say whether they're currently recruiting or not. If anyone knows of any pvp guilds I left out please feel free to mention them.

For once, I actually agree with Mosh. I like the idea that you came up with, but I disagree with the way you wrote up the description (someone beating the other entries doesn't make them the best pvper on the server, it makes them the best duelist that chose to enter, for example), and rules like 1 entry per account. I understand that you want it to follow certain guidelines for elimination etc, but if somebody is capable of winning several individual AC brackets, on their own toons, then imo they deserve it. There are other ways around conflicts with matchups etc, or you can say that they can only enter 1 character into the Finals round. Anyway, that's my suggestion, GL with the rest of the tournament and congrats to the competitors thus far.

That's fine Saedus, the only thing that was a gripe for me was the way that the PR was handled. Given, I wasn't the one in contact so I am working purely on the say-so of others, but it's my understanding that the whole incident wasn't well communicated or handled, and I was told that things were said towards members of NS that came off as very passive-aggressive, which may well have been the fault of NS members as well. My prior post was simply a reaction post, being frustrated at things that I was told were said that night. My apologies for being so rash, there was no need for it.

Can't take wins and losses with a grain of salt if you don't queue because you don't have your full A-team on.

I think Noodle enjoys murdering a plethora of people on a regular basis. He never used to pvp at all, but he got a taste for it and now he's unstoppable. He's got the bloodthirst!

The only reason that Gav Daragon has a "heavy" population is because its max pop cap isn't as high as Dalborra, so light, medium and heavy are all relative. Dalborra does have a higher population, it's just a smaller percentage of its maximum capacity.
