  1. Why couldn't you? The daily mobs for the event scale with you, other than World Bosses. Those are basically level 50 fodder anyway. And ditto on the Holonet stuff. Machanima FTW, we could use more of it. The "ship droid" April Fool's joke stuff was hilarious and seeing the news reports really got me into wanting to go to Tatooine to explore ASAP.
  2. Mission rewards (and there are missions that the trigger is unknown/not yet in game at this point) and dying from rakghoul infection will get you more DNA samples. Effectively, this means people are crowding in Fleet to get blown up every 20 minutes, respawning, and picking up their 5 samples per cycle. Kinda boring, but there's also a daily for infecting 10 people....so it's worth doing a few times. *please note: dying from rakghoul plague is a zero-repair death, and can be "cured" by leaping off a fade-to-black hole- say, over the railings on Fleet. If you don't wanna deal with it, plenty of easy ways out*
  3. ...and if you're infected, is curable for the price of zero credits simply by jumping over a railing. Zero cost for a vaccine, zero cost for repairs. It's that easy. Not to mention dying from the plague costs you....nothing in repairs. I suppose Bioware could have made it seem gentler by adding a "free kitten" buff to the plague, but some people are allergic to those.
  4. Outlaw's Den is a free-for-all PvP area on all servers. Yes, this means that same-faction killing can happen.
  5. It'll only flag you if you're infected by the explosion. Had a pair of 50 Imps on Eidolon run up and explode on me. I have the vaccine buff. No flag. Get it, you should be worry-free after.
  6. SPOILERS AHOY! You have to get the three events in your faction's city first. For the Republic, that's watching the news story on the screens by the spaceport, examining the escape pod that crashed int a wall, and then the medical crate by the cantina, all within 10 minutes of each other. This gives you an hour-long buff that tells you you're ready to go find the wreck. It's notable for having a Jawa vendor right up the hill from it (the Stardream), and if you have the quest buff, this will trigger the area dailies for the event. You can then run through those and the rest of the series with the Sand People after you're done in the Dune Sea. NOTE: Do NOT be fooled by the L27-28 mobs. Attacking them will trigger additional mob spawns that match your current level, some of which will be strong and a few elite mobs.
  7. Well, you know. When the elite of the Republic ignore a quarantine order and all...you'd think the Empire would be a mite more ruthless. I sorta wish that at "Feverish" friendly NPC's would go hostile and gun you down. It'd be so appropriate!
  8. And yet, all you had to do was jump off a railing and you'd have saved yourself the 2K- or taken the death 20 minutes later and had a zero-cost repair. The plague is part of the game world, and a relatively harmless (for you, the player) one at that. If it made you, RPing panic enough to blow a small amount of credits for the vaccine to cure it that way, then kudos! The game world is not always kind, and 2K is barely a dent in the money you make on Corsucant just doing missions. Trust me, I know. And don't think it's just Tatooine. That's just the beginning. After all, we have no idea Which happens, by the way Experienced Troopers, you know what I'm thinking about if you clicked that spoiler.
  9. Yeah, there's at least some stuff that's screaming "MORE QUESTS COMING" like the dead dewbacks nobody's found a trigger for doing yet. Methinks Tatooine is only the beginning. After all, who
  10. It wasn't anything to do with the OP's complaint, it had everything to do with who I quoted. Did you read that part?
  11. Wow. That Corso....do want. Khem Val would look hideously awesome infected, and I think Aric Jorgen would too. Rawr.
  12. The guild meeting actually mentioned beast mounts coming along. As for flying ones, it's like old world WoW. The zone geometry can't handle it, short of literally redoing the entire game like Blizzard did. Most of the rest, like addons? Meh, if I want things that people will use to robo-play raids and such, I'll go back to WoW where such things belong.
  13. Jumping off "suicide drops" will respawn you cured and with zero repair costs. This is really easy on Fleet or Corsucant, since such drops are only a railing-leap away.
  14. Don't forget Wookies with a /hug command. Wookie hugs are great stress removers, and they do a good shoulder rub too. No Ewoks, though.
  15. Go right ahead. It's not like they didn't put a notice on Fleet telling people horrible things are happening on Tatooine, stay away. Or a screen as you exit the Tatooine spaceport showing exactly what horrible things they meant. Wait. They did. You were warned. Don't go to Tatooine, or you are in grave danger of being infected, turning into a rakghoul, and being killed. If you missed those, I'm sorry- but the "penalty" was a zero-repair cost, slow death that could easily be cured by jumping off a cliff. Literally.
  16. Wait, you mean PvP is happening on a PvP server? Of course it is. But that's part of PvP. Any event will automatically act as bait, and the starved masses will jump on the resulting feast like pirhana. That's how PvP works. If a faction dominates, they will exercise it wherever they like. Ilum, or any other part of the map. Of course, you'd think it'd attract everyone faster than you can say "World PvP rules", but I'm guessing the weaker faction is still feeling the burn from Ilum and hiding in warzones. Funny thing is, even if you can't do the dailies, all you need is one person to get infected, emergency fleet pass to the station, and proceed to pass the plague back and forth for all the DNA samples one desires. It IS sad that you can't do the dailies, but that's the drawback to PvP servers. One side can (and by playing there, should) deny the other whatever they can, and will enjoy killing you to do so. (And in a week or so, the event is over and things will be normal again. Such is life.)
  17. I did the Wrath zombie event. The heck with enjoying it as a griefer. I was enjoying hunting zombies and keeping Stormwind from going totally zombie central. We had patrols on Runetotem ruthlessly riding across the cities (this was before flying mounts, mind) exterminating every undead that spawned. Some of the most fun I had all the time I played WoW, even. If anything, this is the zombie event with more thought put into the results (to the positive) and it shows.
  18. Hey, if they want to sit there in Fleet playing pass the space herpes, be my guest. Plenty of dailies you can do instead for more than 5 samples/20+ minutes. Long as it's not causing anyone any harm, which sitting there randomly exploding from plague really doesn't do.
  19. I wonder sometimes that devs have a problem seeing the difference between people QQing something that actually creates good buzz, vs. things that actually do degrade gameplay. World events like this are a shot in the arm for games. They're news items, they don't cause long-term hardship, and Bioware actually made it that getting "killed" is rewarding. Sorta like "Don't Stand In The Fire" when Deathwing started making his rounds and incinerating entire zones, only better.
  20. It can happen. Vaccine yourself, get rid of the buff, get reinfected, see if it starts the cycle properly. You'll know in 20 minutes, of course...
  21. Some people find anything that possibly impacts their solo grinding to be intolerable. This includes a zero-penalty death that you have 20 minutes to deal with happening, and can "cure" simply by leaping off into a fade-to-black area. Or ignore for 6 hours for 2K. I hope Bioware realizes that for once, the disease is actually better than being healthy for this game. People need to be shaken out of the same-old as often as possible.
  22. Aww, you keep copy-pasting that all over the place! Hugs.
  23. I'd be amazed if you're getting infected out in the boonies- the only places I've seen it happening was on Tatooine itself or the Fleet. For the former, it's 2K ever six hours for vaccinations- and if you're on Tatooine, you darn well HAVE 2K handy. And you can carry tons of them. They stack. On fleet, you jump over a railing, bottomless pit fall-scream-respawn-cured for no repair cost. Handy that most places PC's will infect offer easy "suicide" outs that won't hurt you a bit. Personally, for future events I'd like to see the infection cause you to become hostile to NPC's- but that dying with such an infection is automatically zero repair, regardless of how it happens. Yes, that would mean it'd actually be a "free repair" once per infection cycle even if you jumped in front of a group of L50 hostiles and got obliterated, but I think it's fair.
  24. I did the full cycle that started the world event quests (inspect screen, crashed pod, medical crate -> Crash site and area quests -> blood sample and Sand People -> returned to Anchorhead) and found the "scan debris" quest active for me.
