  1. C'mon, you have to admit that the text describing it is misleading. It says that we have to obtain it from an elite, and as far as I can remember there were only 3 kinds of Elites in the area: - The Isotope-5 droids - The Hutt Drill Security droids - Giant ranchors Now, I'm not sure if you can get the cylinders from the ranchors, but I know I got them from the other 2. The funny thing is that I've also gotten it from silver mobs, which makes the whole 'Obtain them from Archon's Elites Forces' redundant.
  2. Your statements seem only to show that you don't want people to be competitive, that you want to stomp all over them (like the EWH dudes did on people in new recruit gear prior to 2.0). Bads will always be bads no matter their level and gear, so if they wanted to 'take time to learn' then they would have done so from level 10 to 54, not just at level 55. The new pvp system evens out the game for those that just reached the level cap, and I applaud Bioware for going in this direction. Prior to 2.0, all people 'learned' when they hit max level was that they were being carried by the elites and that they were hated for it. And for those who grind their warzones, are you saying that they don't have any advantage at all? Oh right, I forgot that you wanted to roflstomp the newbies.

    Scamper in PVP

I've seen this video a few times now, and glad that it's out there to silence the critics. But, it appears, nobody cares and they're gonna complain nevertheless. What do we do? Haters gonna hate. In the words of Chamillionaire, 'They see me rollin', they hatin' patrollin', they tryin' to catch me ridin' dirty'
  4. If it's not already stated, allow me to make it clear to everyone: The latest changes, when compared with how the other classes were done, makes it official that Bioware absolutely hates the Trooper and Bounty Hunter classes. Not just the Mercs and Commandos, they hate even the Powertechs and Vanguards now.

    Scamper in PVP

Why don't you roll an operative and try scampering from one side of the map to the other, and see how much energy it costs before suggesting an increase? Doubtless operatives CAN roll from one end of the map to the other, but what are they going to do once they reach the other end? Nothing other than their basic free attack. He will not be able to kill anyone. What then are you complaining about?
  6. All of you who are complaining, did you care this much in the 10-49 warzones pre-2.0? If not, then why are starting to care now? The present 30-54 category is the same as the old 10-49 category: no real point other than to gain valor and wz comms. So stop stroking your epeen and get to 55.
  7. Same here. Before today I've always loved Engineering above the rest, but come 2.0 I see no reason to be faithful to just one. All 3 for me :-)
  8. You should always place your sniper at the highest perch. I usually place mine on the catwalks around the central area of the map, mainly because I can start picking out enemies from afar and it's not exactly easy for melee to approach me without my knowing. What a sniper does in a game is highly dependable on his team composition and what is needed to be done. For a pug match, as a sniper your main task in just about any game is areal denial in my opinion. You safeguard contested nodes in ACW, NC and AHC; the doors in Voidstar; and the center area of Huttball where the ball spawns. Any enemy that enters 'your zone' should be exterminated. Having said that, you should always place yourself in such a way that the enemy ball carrier has to go through your zone, and start picking them apart as soon as you can. Also, you should lookout for enemy players who are going into positions for favorable passes. Root them on traps, slow them down, do whatever you can to get them out of the game. Should you chase them once they are past you? It depends. If you think you can finish them off, then you should. Otherwise, you keep that central area free of the enemy team. Remember, a sniper without cover is like an operative without stealth: a free meal for any DPS. You are not a melee, you don't have to chase the enemy. If they do get past/beyond you, move on to the next person who is within your range. Edit: Here a nice video of a sniper doing his thing in PVP. For more information on how to play your sniper effectively, see NoTomorrow's guide on sniper PVP.
  9. Nice vids man, very nice indeed. I myself have been playing vengeance on my Juggernaut since its creation, and it's always refreshing to find others who love the Vengeance tree as much as I do. I can't tell you how many times I've had people tell me I should go Rage or go Hybrid Immortal-Vengeance, or even roll a Marauder completely (which I do have as well), but there is something about the pure Vengeance spec that keeps drawing me back... Anyways, it's great that you will be pvp-ing more on Prime Immortal but hopefully you can get some pvp action on Dire now and then, and continue to create such wonderful vengeance vids.
  10. Not a very good analogy since there hasn't been anything to suggest that Jesus ever existed, hence he couldn't be a living proof of anything.
  11. Well, they knew what they were signing up for.
  12. Nice video, my friend. When heeded, these simple yet important things that can definitely improve the performance of your team. Should also put this in the new players section, just to ensure they are aware.
  13. No, if you are below level 50, aside from the flashpoints and the PVP daily you won't really have any other missions on the fleet. After you hit level 10 on your starting planet, go to fleet and pick up your advance class, then move on to the next planet (it's stated in your quest tab). Once they get their ship, I seen many new players going to the wrong planet and discovering that they are unable to do the quests. This problem is easily avoided if you read your quests in the quest tab: At most times, you will be asked to go to 2 planets and complete your missions there. Check the level requirements of each planet from your galaxy map in your ship (the map where you choose which planet to go, it lists the recommended level), and choose the one which is lower leveled first. Once you complete it then you move the the higher leveled one. Also, you don't have to do each and every quest on the planet. Once you are above the recommended level, and have completed your class' storyline on the said planet, you can proceed to the next one with no worries.
  14. Hold on, we don't yet know what spec he's running, let's wait until he makes that point clear.
  15. It's not possible to have that many alts. There are only 20 servers available, and we are only allowed to have 12 characters as subscribers on each server. Even if he were to create 12 toons on each, he would still only have 20 X 12 = 240 toons at most.
  16. Well, Deception can be played without using low slash, but it allows for Maul to be used more easily, especially on pesky kiters. I also often use it to bait people into using their CC breakers early in the fight. Low Slash + Crushing Darkness If they break CC to interrupt me, gamble paid off and I will have greater control over them in the fight. If they don't then they at least now have a decent-damaging DoT ticking on them.
  17. Well, I won't say that assassins are overpowered (the builds that allow extreme damage is also pretty fragile). The class is strong 1 v 1, it was practically built with that in mind (BW themselves admitted that the hard-hitting builds were designed to be lone-wolf), so of course you're going to see videos of assassins dueling others. But apart from having fun 1 v 1 outside of warzones, is what assassins always end up doing in any ranked matches. Yes, I know the guy in the video is a Guardian, I couldn't find a video more worthy, nor one with an assassin in it. For the most part, this is about the only reason Assassins are brought into ranked matches.
  18. Lol, you have to love the epeen that is spouting from both sides of the camp. Kudos to the select few who actually tried to keep their arguments constructive, most of the posts I read were basically something along the lines of 'I always beat your class, hence my class is inherently better than yours'. Although it wasn't the original point of this thread, the question is now raised: If both classes (snipers and marauders) are given equal footing in a 1 on 1 match, who would emerge victorious? My opinion on this? If given equal footing in the match to both classes, without bias of objects for LOS-ing, then the victor for the majority of time should be the sniper (notice I said majority, not always. Yes, sometimes one can get lucky). If objects (for LOS-ing) are brought into the equation then the chance of the marauder winning the duel will go up. This, however, is not a guarantee that the marauder will win all the time. Why do I say this? Simple: personal experience. Now, granted I may not be the best player in the game / server, or boast ridiculous achievements on my classes, but I do know them well enough to play them at max level competitions (I play both the classes in question), and my experience has taught me this: never underestimate a sniper no matter what class you are. Most importantly, if you're a non-stealthing melee, never engage them one on one in an open field from afar. That, of course, is my opinion. But, if you feel that you can beat a sniper easily as a marauder, roll a sniper/gunslinger yourself and get competent with it. Then come back to this forum and smile at some of the replies as I am doing now.
  19. Just for you, my friend, here is a video about smash doing over 9K insane damage. Yes, I know the video is from long ago and is no longer valid in these times, but that isn't really my point. My point is that you wanted to see something mythical, and hurray, I made your dreams come true
  20. Yes you can reset your skill tree. See my post for the details on how to go about doing it.
  21. I think most internet connection (fibre optics and otherwise) are transmitted around the world using submarine cables, and if you look at the map here you will notice that there are only a few entry points from outside into Australia, and Sydney is one of them. Having the servers in northern Australia may actually worsen the connection for us. Perhaps offshore area would be better, but I doubt Bioware/Ea would want to reinvest in relocating their servers just for us 'few' non-Oceanic people. Edit: Oh, and bumpity bumpity bump. Still awaiting your good reply dear Bioware.
  22. Character A goes through all the hard work in finding and obtaining all the datacrons. Datacron Legacy Unlocks become available in Legacy window. Characters B, C, and D (all belonging in the same legacy), unlock it through legacy unlocks so that they don't have to suffer the same misery all over again. Character E, who is on another legacy (hence, on another server) does not get the benefit of the above legacy unlock. It's not much different than the HK-51 legacy unlock feature, why is it so hard to implement / accept? We are not saying that it should be given out freely to those who do not want to go and find the datacrons. All we want is the option that, once we have gone through the trouble in finding all the datacrons on one toon, we can share it via legacy with all our legacy toons.
  23. Bumpity bumpity bump! Still awaiting your word on our APAC concerns, Bioware.
  24. Yes, I totally agree with this. I have multiple characters, 5 at least of whom are level 50, and after doing a complete run of all the datacrons on just 2 of them, I absolutely dread doing it on all my other characters...pls bioware, will you not listen to me?
