  1. As Fury, you get the furious rage buff after using furious strike, which boosts your next raging burst. Having a lot of power will make that raging burst autocrit hit harder. End of story. You want really big single raging bursts, go full power. The catch is that if the fight lasts for more than 1 or 2 minutes, full power is actually going to become a dps loss. What I mean by that is the other stats you've left out like accuracy, alacrity and crit....those stats really start to shine in battles that will take a bit of time. The flip side to that fact, is that as a Fury marauder or Rage jug, we're not worried about the overall damage numbers at the final scorecard. We're only worried about the number of kills. Additionally we're concerned with the size of our hits, because a series of 15k+ hits are acting like assists in hockey, even if we don't get the final blow. There are a number of ways to compound your burst. Check out the beauty of rage thread on the juggernaut forums to see a list of burst combos. When you line up these combos, you'll find yourself in command of damage that tries to stack and deliver all at once. This same principle is what separates good AP power techs from beginners. They too must stack their burst to explode all at once. Try it out. Go 35% crit. 5% accuracy. Rest Full power. Come back and let us know if we should all drop down from 40% crit and join you.
  2. Hey, I haven't wandered over to these server forums in awhile, was overjoyed to see this! I actually purchased a token( they're so cheap now), and decided to try assassin last night. I wasn't even "plugged in". I'll definitely be swinging her over to start learning how to play hatred. Also to the OP, having one solid day of the week is a damn good idea. But for the rest of the days when some people are just hanging around, I'd also invite everyone to Infernal's guild ship. It's named "The Gravestone". We could use that one for tutorial duels that would prep up in comers for your Friday night main event, or I'll put a bounty on my head, lol. Anyways, I've always dreamed of having something like this in place. Gg.
  3. I haven't played against kanaba since season 3? I believe, I'll take your word for it. Obsice is good, I remember him in the trenches every other day simply queing up, definitely an asset to any team. Currik...I don't know too much about the guy, sure he's capable, but from what I've seen, he's simply a chump. There are also some new faces causing a raucous (on harbinger anyway). This next season should be a damn interesting one. Me? I'm just a sh*t-talker who couldn't fight my way out of a wet paper bag, but I'd love for you all to come prove me wrong.
  4. I've stated before how ridiculously overpowered the 60% aoe dr was, back at early access The main reasons vengeance can Shank Tank better, is because it has the passive damage reduction (in addition to the new 60%), it loses less spec perks than rage does, and it can still apply a nominal dps rotation fairly effectively.(If the right utilities are selected). Rage is completely neutered in Soresu...entirely unplayable.
  5. ^ You got that right. Very dumb; you have become.
  6. Kanaba as well? Geezuz, this thread keeps getting thicker. Please continue.
  7. Having a shank jug sacrifice his spec perks and his health pool to assist an obvious focus target, does buy a bit of time for said target to live a bit longer, but there are costs. Pvp is chaotic, it's impossible to state the durations or true benefits because of the players composing the two teams. Applying a shank guard will be way more effective against players who've never encountered it before. That much, I have seen first hand. When I started exploring the vengeance shank groove last season, it was usually in the second round when it was clear I had a weak link on my team. By protecting the focus target, I was able to essentially increase my odds of winning, by helping my guarded target survive the initial burst from the superior enemy team. It didn't always work. I've found that even when playing vengeance now in 4.0, I need every perk available from the shien tree, and focus on a great offensive stance instead of trying to weather the storm with a shield. This whole arguement is trivial. Arsefel is an ebon ranked bumbuddy win trading troll? Haha, I knew there was more to the picture. I never liked the guy, now there's more reasons to confirm it. Funny how some people will use a front of disfavor and denial, all the while, using the very tactics they condemn in public, avidly in game for themselves. It's very amusing. Come farm me @ harbinger.
  8. I'm curious. Who have you been faced against, to merit such bold words. Have you tried this condition yourself? What were the shank tank's dps numbers? Did you focus the shank and guarded target appropriately, and use aoe? Are you able to answer that? Once again, there will be way more immortal jugs(tanks) queuing up this season with blended dps gear, queuing as Skank Tanks. The rare occurance where you have a vengeance jug switching to soresu, to become a Shank Tank, probably won't occur as much, or at all. I'd like to know who's been Shanking your arse so badly lately. I'd probably cheer him on and laugh.
  9. The new breed of reg-stars, is like a cancer. I actually have been seeing some old vets logging in, they've been reintroducing a refreshing dosage of skill and intuition. Regular Warzones may become purposeful and exciting again, as the new leagues of derp-reg-stars, begin to get mercilessly farmed to extinction.
  10. I'm actually starting to feel bad for you. Your posts are filled with such garbage, It's obvious that you don't even know what you're talking about. Let this rest for now. If you see a vengeance jug this next season switch stances to Soresu, to assist an obvious focus target, it will be because the enemy team has exceptional burst, and his teammate is a good player, worthy of the sacrifice, worthy of protecting and keeping up for as long as possible. This condition is rare, and will not serve any good purpose, aside from the scenario that butthat or I have mentioned. (He makes a good point). Even if there was no recovery available, it would buy a bit more time to allow the guarded target to apply a bit more damage, by surviving the initial burst. Vengeance jugs are literally built for leading the charge, I doubt you'll see them doing anything but that this season (in Shien Form).
  11. First of all, no one bothers with this effect. I haven't seen any dps tank ac's attempting a solid "Shank" for ages. Secondly, only a select few could pull it off properly in the first place. Shanking isn't a guaranteed win(If your team is really bad, sacrificing your health to try and keep a team mate alive for another 2 or 3 GCD's won't secure a victory most times anyway). With the recent fixes to jug/guard damage potential, they have balanced the tank disciplines dps potential to relatively competitive values (sin/pt/jug). This means that players who want to enjoy a tanking role, will now be queing up as Immortal, instead of handicapping themselves in vengeance. If an Immortal jug wears dps gear (or a blend of tank/dps gear), he is still queing up as a tank. That Immortal jug is now called a Skank Tank. Shank tanking is when a Vengeance Jug switches some gear and goes to soresu in between rounds. (Had to clear that up for you yet again, because you're so dumb). Regardless, switching stances as a jug serves multiple purposes, the most important is for additional self defence through increased damage reduction. This stance dance comes with a penalty to all damage potential output, and also cripples all the discipline's perks. If someone spent the time and resources to acquire some tank gear to weather the storm of shielding a teammate, for a supposed GCD or two more, additionally sacrificing and gimping all of their damage potential, ...I mean this condition within the randomness of soloque is hardly worth the effort. You speak as though there are SHANK TANKS running rampant in every arena, every other match. This is laughable. Remember, regular warzones don't count in this arguement. By all means keep embarrassing yourself Hei_Arsefel. You're a chronic complainer. I enjoy making you look stupid.
  12. You're embarrassing yourself. You reek of ignorance. Go lick your "Shank Wounds" somewhere else. Hahahahaa
  13. Relative Equality. What an amazing sentiment. Man I tell ya, I've seen classes and specializations of every shape and form do very well this preseason. I've seen mercenaries demolish their opponents. I've seen marauders annihilating everything around them. I've seen Imperial agents destroying multiple opponents. I've seen dps jugs absolutely obliterating everything in their paths. The lines between what one player can accomplish with any given class, here now in 4.0, have become blurred. You people need to wake up. The stigmas of the old days are gone. Que up and discover for yourselves what some amazing players are doing in the arenas lately. Additionally, que up to discover how some returning players have re-introduced some refreshing intuition, and have displayed remarkable teamwork with strangers. Sure, not every match is rosy, and there will be blunders...but... You'll never know until you get in the ring. Sadly, If you refuse to que, you'll simply remain heartbroken puddles of filth, regurgitating lies and falsehoods, attempting in vain to justify your fears of the arena... Ranked arenas aren't as intimidating as many would think. anyways... Would somebody create a damn thread listing some generic information about what to do/what to expect in 4.0 arenas? What are the protocols, what are some of the new lingos? Regardless, somebody should start a new "4.0 Arena" tutorial thread, I'm tired and I'm going to bed.
  14. Not once in the history of multiplayer combat, since the beginning of time, was combat *ever* supposed to be balanced. Requesting or assuming such a position is a fool's errand, an exercise in futility. The varying degrees of Player Skill, *are* the largest and most vital contributions to this chaotic and gloriously unbalanced state. You fools. Do you think this is a turn-based, balanced, "let's be nice" type of gameplay??? The *TRUTH* is that, when you que up for arenas. Your team will have to find a way to overcome the strengths and exploit the weaknesses of your enemy team. The beauty is being able to do that. If you fail to overcome your adversaries, then you have been beaten by a better collection of players. Accept it, move on to the next match. Do not waste your breath trying to make excuses, blaming bioware class balancing, or blaming other players for the loss. Arena PvP is purity. Arena PvP is truth.
