  1. Don't stop until there are at least as many semi-open and open outfits for male characters as there are for female characters. To people who say it's just for gay males - pfft. Not everything is about males and their tastes.
  2. The question about ethics of playing is interesting, and no less relevant than the frequent discussions of Jedi vs. Sith morality. I address this ethics within the magic circle of the game: in-game events are serious and meaningful while in the circle. Within the game, the code is law, and BW has direct government powers. Is it ethical for people with that level of power to influence in-universe economy directly? Do they have to be transparent when they do? It is as if gods played stock market. I don't feel bad playing in universes with such effects. I find it fun to deconstruct all the behaviorist tricks companies try to use. I collect them - and the ways people resist. Similarly, I know BW can simply make galaxy people disappear without a trial, for a while or permanently. That's acceptable to me - in a game.
  3. A lot of people are trying to cope, via roleplay, with Sith Empire-like behaviors of their governments.
  4. Exactly! It's like buying a dinner at a restaurant and then paying extra for not having to finish all of it. What a twisted world... of warcraft.
  5. I think they should flip the design. They should charge for the privilege of playing through 100 levels, and boost to the last level as their f2p or basic option. I mean, since when do people pay for avoiding entertainment?
  6. I see what you mean. Awesome use of the QUOTE feature (Captain Jack Sparrow)!
  7. The Sith are rarely honest. Deceit of all sorts is widespread, and encouraged during the training. But honesty isn't one of the proclaimed values of the Code of the Sith.
  8. It would be nice if Imperials could kill Shan. My warrior wants to decorate his wall with her Jedi braid. What happens before is optional. Maybe seduction with the use of the Force - as a way to convert her to the Dark Side before killing her?
  9. Thank you for organizing it. I killed about 800 Republic fighters - it got to be good for the war effort, right? Ah, who am I kidding - it's just fun. Let's do it again!
  10. Here is a machinima our guild made. This joint video project between Kreep and Djek is a tale of relentless bloodlust and boundless ambition - with a slight twist of intrigue - set to Gorrilaz' "Stylo" and SWTOR's "Carbine in the Wind." Thanks so much to everyone who helped out, wonderful people in our guild, Pandamonium on The Shadowlands server, who lent their talented voices and spent hours and hours of their precious free time standing around awaiting instructions. And Force Pushing each other off cliffs, instructions or not. 13. They are already doing this, but with 2 faction stories instead of 8 class stories plus faction stories. Here is the question you should be asking. Would you wait five times longer between updates than you do now? That's how long it would take for BW to create 8 class stories in addition to 2 faction stories. At least that long, but likely much longer, because the logistics of working with that many writers, voice actors, and support people grow exponentially with each new component you add. Please do the math.
  14. What a great idea! I would love that, too. Have you submitted it somehow? I think there is a suggestion forum.
  15. Here is how you can see why that statement is problematic. Substitute other demographics for it. Saying "I don't mind women participating" is sexist. Saying "I don't mind twi'leks" is speciesist.
  16. Jandi, thanks for your answers. I provided a list of questions to illustrate that this thread raised many different ones. You added another example - what is a game from the artistic standpoint, and what is art? You know people have called paint tossed on canvas "abstract art," but opinions if it's really art vary. My list was in response to this: It's not just two sides - there are many dimensions! While politics artificially restricts choices to just a few, typically two sides, this thread does not. Which makes this thread very amusing indeed. 10/10, OP, write again!
  17. I hear what you are saying about polarized viewpoints. But there are more than two desires or viewpoints here. - How much sex is there in SW canon? - And is EU canon? - What garments are classic to the SW universe? With literally thousands of planets and billions of sentient beings, would any of them invent a tube top, or having invented it, allow citizens to wear it? - Is it okay for the game to refer to current realities? Is playing in English okay? How about Halloween-themed items? - Are body parts sexy? Only if they are covered/uncovered/big/small? Tons and tons of questions. EA supports some choices and not others. For example, if I want to RP a Sith who always projects an illusion of looking like a giant Wizard of Oz head with big hair, the game won't support that. You can only look like a small choice of humanoid species. This isn't a sandbox game.
  18. Wow, cool details! I just want to acknowledge that I didn't do enough research earlier, when I said it's not a secret. Just because it's in the first line of a paragraph on Wookieepedia does not mean in-universe people know it widely. By the way, someone made an interesting argument earlier than the Jedi aren't supposed to care one way or other about "exciting" clothes or bodies, because they are keeping their cool and staying away from feelings. This reminds me of Gandhi sleeping with naked girls while maintaining celibacy.
  19. Maybe SIS is still to figure it out, being always stripped for resources and talent? The Empire knows ;-) (Somehow I thought more people knew that in the Republic, but yeah, Jace and Satele didn't advertise the thing.)
  20. There you go. A Jedi falls to the Dark Side (and through a time vortex) and becomes an apprentice to Darth Talon. Or here's another story. A young Hutt slave discovers she's been Force Sensitive all that time. But she wants to deal with her abusive past, so she reclaims the traditional slave outfit as the symbol of liberation and power. She goes everywhere dressed as a slave, kicks major Sith behind, becomes a Jedi Council member, etc. All while dressed as a slave, to bring attention to the plight of the slaves.
  21. I don't desire to make this distinction. Corruption is corruption. If people can severely break the Jedi code to go to the Dark Side, what's to stop them from slightly breaking traditions (not even the code) to dress lightly? I don't know about George Lucas, what's with Always a Bigger Fish and a certain senator Who Must Not Be Named. As for corruption, if Jedi can and do turn to the Dark Side, they might turn to pole dancing too. Arson, murder, and jaywalking.
  22. And yet Satele Shan has a kid with Jace Malcom, which is not a secret. And she's the Grand Master of the Jedi Order. As a Sith, I have to laugh in the general direction of the Jedi hypocrisy.
  23. Just don't go to Ord Mantell if you want to escape corruption. Or to Coruscant, for that matter. They had a senator selling slave collars for profit, and another spying for the Empire, and... There are Dark Side Jedi in this game. How's that for corruption?
  24. Good for you. You may want to be careful with services like Amazon One-Click, and credit cards in general. If you have the tendency to spend like that, it's better to take preventive measures. Yet other people value shopping convenience. Take measures on your side.
  25. Many want to join my evil Empire, but few survive the trials. Bring me the lightsaber hilts of those responsible for the pesky standardized tests. If you prove your might, we shall talk! ~~~ Back to the topic: a lot of people do play games for the comforts of a steady workflow. Some people do so because their jobs have even less meaning and lore than the daily missions (sad world), some don't have jobs, others have chaotic, unstable jobs... You'd think everyone is seeking adventure and excitement in their MMORPGs, but it's not so. For example, the OP does not want too much randomness in random prize boxes, as far as I understand.
