  1. I guess you weren't around last year for "Hallows End" when Blizzard totally failed to take into account that the clocks would go back an hour on the final day, resulting in the vendor being removed an hour earlier than the time they had clearly advertised. To compound it further, Blizzard were fully aware of the problem before it occured and deliberately chose not to inform players. Their overall attitude was basically "tough ****, you can do it again next year..." I played WoW for more than three years, not once do I recall an event (or "holiday" in WoWspeak) vendor remaining after the event had ended. If you insist on trying to cite WoW as a good example of something, please ensure you actually have a good example of a good example. In this case you did not.
  2. I'd be very interested to know where you get your advance information from, as it was my understanding that the actual event was only announced 24hours before it went live. That being the case, how could you possibly have known the end date "for weeks"? My only previous MMO experience was three and a half years of playing the MMO that shall not be named (think black and white furry creatures, and you should be close). Every player had an in game calender, on which the start and end dates for events were automatically added. Players could also add their own guild events, etc. WHY ON EARTH DO WE NOT HAVE SUCH A FACILITY IN SWOTR? Unfortunately RL got in my way on Monday evening, I was unable to play that night and am left with 160 odd DNA samples. I am not going to insist that the vendor return, however, those are the breaks, I was unlucky and shall move on to other things. I will keep the DNA handy though, just in case...
  3. Something/someone needs to go, you got that right... definitely isn't this event or any future intended events though. THIS IS A GAME... sounds to me like you have forgotten that, lighten up for god's sake.
  4. I'm on the list, have the email, and will gratefully accept BWs kind offer. Having said that, I am in total agreement with the people who feel "undervalued", for want of a better word. BW/EA's reason for making this offer is subject to much speculation, in this thread and elsewhere I have no doubt, some of which may be correct; we will have no way to be certain unless they choose to tell us in plain english. Regrettably the one thing you can be certain of is that their PR Gurus and Lawyers will not allow them to be open and honest with us. Dress it up as much as you like, the statement and implementation of the free time cannot do anything but make sections of the playerbase angry.
  5. April 12th, 2012 from 12:01AM CDT (April 11th, 10:01PM PDT/1:01AM EDT/6:01AM BST/7:01AM CEST/3:01PM AEST) until 8AM CDT (6AM PDT/9AM EDT/2PM BST/3PM CEST/11PM AEST)
  6. Current Server - Ula Vii Lvl 50 Assassin - Tank Spec. (cap reached mid January). Currently levelling a Mercenary, so I have something to do. Fleet Population (peak times) - 10 if your lucky. (Game usually played between 19:00 and 22:30 GMT/BST Mon-Fri, longer at weekends) Social Lvl - 1 No of HMs attempted/completed since hitting lvl cap - 0/0 Current Equipment: Armor - lvl126 obtained through REing lvl49/50 Synthweaving gear to 3rd tier Main Hand/Off Hand - lvl116 obtained through GTN It really is very simple, I cannot progress any further when my server is dead. There are no groups, there is no multiplayer. Don't even think about doing the 4mans while levelling, if you are lucky there may be one other player on the same planet. Server Transfers and Merges are needed NOW, not at some unspecified point in the future while the developers concentrate on pushing out new content in 1.2. New content will be of no use to me, as I will be considered undergeared for it even if I could find a group to join... WHICH I CAN'T!!! This really is not good enough... I am very aware that this is a new MMORPG and, as such, we can expect a few issues that will take a bit of time to fix. These should be the priority, however, not pushing out new content that only players who lucked into a busy server will actually be able to enjoy.
  7. I can't help but feel that the most important point (imho) is being missed by quite a few readers, although it has actually been made a number of times... The SI cannot turn ANY companions, the SW can. It doesn't matter whether it is Ashara or not; if a SW grunt can turn someone, we should be able to turn at least one of our companions by now, surely? This cannot be right... it should be corrected... simples I am prepared to accept "The Turning of Ashara", or whatever storyline you want to suggest, as a planned long term option. If that should be the case I would hope a choice in either direction, or even to stay "grey", would be possible; so that players have a chance to try the combination of their choice. Anyone considered being a LS SI and having Ashara turned DS?... Less likely, but you could possibly argue that you are manipulating your companion to do all the dirty work, while you keep your hands "clean". Don't get me wrong, I intend my char to be fully DS and I would want to turn Ashara if possible, and be able to kill her if I couldn't; but I accept and understand that many other players will have a different perspective for their character/companion interactions, and they should have a choice too. I do understand the constraints that may make so many options for one npc difficult for Bioware to implement, however, so I think it unlikely more than DS or LS would become available, if at all. Back to original point... If SW can already turn a companion, then SI should definitely be able to do so... fix it please.
