  1. KalSpiro is absolutely right. Using the natural cover has been the difference between life and death for me in the game. I can't see why people would want to complain about something that takes away a ton of the damage done to them. I soloed a hard boss after my companion died and because of natural cover i didn't die. Your survivability is very high once you use the natural cover.

Judging from your post I dont think you're level 50 yet and doing flashpoints. You're not soloing anything there and Take Cover is broken.

  2. I managed to acquire Matrix Cube M7-R3 (3 red matrix shard from datacrons) which is quite nice compared to what I had before, but my second relic is absolute crap. Since I got to 50 few days ago and am still a new player, I have no clue where to find the good stuff (couldn't find any relics where tier parts are sold or on Illum).

Any tips where sniper relics drop/can be bought?

  3. Thank you for the "crouch" tip. It does everything I wanted and no more bouncing around to nearest cover spot. Now I can just position myself where I want without worrying that I'll do something stupid.

Although it is kinda sad that the whole class is built around cover mechanic which is actually broken, and us new players need to learn it the hard way.

  4. This is mostly a PvE discussion why cover is a bad mechanic and should be removed.

Alright so, I have no issues with the cover we get where we just crouch in the place were standing (except few minor issues, see #3), however the "roll to the nearest stone to cover" is a completely broken mechanic that should be removed ASAP.

    Few examples.

    #1

About to engage a boss and you press cover just to bounce somewhere where the boss is out of your line of sight, making you exit it, move away to reposition yourself so you wont bounce back to the same place before you can engage the boss. That is a huge loss of DPS, and if this happened in WoW, you'd see a massive QQ and the problem being fixed within hours. Bioware is slacking.

    #2

You're about to engage a pack of mobs, you initiate cover in a hurry, only to bounce to the nearest cover which is... near the mobs, aggoring the whole pack and freaking your tank out.

    #3

We sometimes get "you cannot cover blah blah blah at the moment" error, which adds more frustration.

    #4

Way too many knockbacks in this game. I know Entrench is nice and dandy, but knockbacks from monsters, bosses, etc are very unpredictable and it's almost useless.

I'm not sure who was the bright brain behind this broken mechanic, and I don't really care, but it's broken and it must go.

  5. Press spacebar to do a barrel roll.

Tank pets (Kaliyo) are always better thank healer pets (Lokin) and will give less downtime. Always select the green mission rewards for her to keep her geared, then use all commendations obtained to keep your orange gear moded.

    Say what?

From my experienec of MM leveling, Doctor Loking beats the crap out of Kaliyo when it comes to downtime. I kept her in ARTIFACTS and she was still going low hp and I had to take breaks so she'd regen hp. And you're saying to keep her in greens? Lol.

Then I got Doctor Lokin and suddenly everything became so much easier (besides heroics ofc).

  6. I leveled up a Sith Assassin to 50, but decided to go Sniper as there's a bunch of Sith Inquisitors out there.

So, far being part of almighty "secret police" I've been completely humiliated while playing my IA.

I've been killed by sith without being able to fight back.

Brainwashed and still unable to do anything about it (understandable but I see it as a huge flaw in the story and yet again I felt helpless)

And now at lvl 44, not just me, but the whole Intelligence's been outsmarted and now I'm dragged around the galaxy in pursuit of someone, yet again.

It feels like I've been played through the whole game, while as Sith, everyone bowed before me and I was able to do as I please. I even felt good causing havoc.

I love my Sniper, but the story has been garbage. I have yet to see the ending though, but since I'm lvl 44 and on Belsavis, I doubt there's time for redemption. Actually the only acceptable story redemption near the end would be to assassinate the whole Dark Council.

I just hope Scorpio is worth it, the only light side are companions.

  7. You know, the one that's in your ship and comments everytime you walk past him. It has only like 6-7 lines and ALL of them really annoying once you hear them for 500th time. Not to mention that its voice is horrible. AND on top of all those issues, everytime you start your ships holocron or whatever it's called, you would still hear it talking and making a whole mess of the conversation in the beginning.

That droid seriously need to go. At least someone tell me how to remove its sound files so I won't be able to hear it anymore.

  8. You dont know how important dual spec is, because you have not played WoW. While for snipers it's not very important, it's a godsend for any hybrid class. Healers won't have to spend ages to kill a mob now, they can just swap to dps tree and make their dailies much faster.

Not sure why this wasn't implemented from the start.

  9. I was just about to freaking complain about this. Fortunately there is already a thread.

Why don't you patch it when it's maintenance? People who complain, do you even have a clue how ****ed over people in Europe are? Yeah, the downtimes are timed fine in the US, but not here. Not here!

  10. After leveling a Sith Assassin to 50 and being Steve Jobs incarnate, I decided to try something new, created a Sniper (lvl 23 atm), named her Harmony and decided to go full light side. Kaliyo isn't very happy when I don't kill people, but fortunately I only lose like 1 point of affection.

I wish it was possible to change looks when you get more light points, like Sith corruption.

  11. Not sure why Bioware decided not to cut down on skills and implement some of them as talent secondary effects (for example dots).

There are just way too many buttons. I leveled up a tank assassin to 50, after level 30 I found out that 2 action bars are not enough and had to activate 3rd one.

Binding keys was such pain in the ***. I'm definitely not a clicker, but I don't bind too much, I click on skills like long cooldowns.

    I bind § (the button besides #1, which is unavailable in SWTOR for some stupid reason, ugh), Q, E, R, F, T, mouse button 3, 4 & 5.

But in SWTOR I was forced into binding ctrl + 1, 2, 3 etc which I have not done in any MMO I've played in the past 8 years.

I swapped to dps and it didn't change (tried both Deception and Madness) but what changed was what pain in the *** it became to monitor all the skill procs without any addons. Maybe I'm spoiled by WoW, but there is a reason why it's a #1 MMO at the moment.

My lvl 23 sniper & 24 mercenary are in the same boat. I doubt this is different for any class...

  12. Go back to WoW vanilla. Them compare it to SWTOR now. It's clear that WoW was crap. It had 7 years to develop though and now it's on top.

I agree that there are things in SWTOR that should've been implemented, for example LFG tool, it's something

I do think that SWTOR is on a good road to become big. But Bioware should work hard the first year - two, give us tools that make life easier, more content, exciting stuff. I personaly am very sad that there are no high res textures in game atm, but they promised us that in 1.2

Just imagine getting new companions with new content, guilds owning huge battle ships, etc.

  13. Google can't seem to find me an answer, so I might as well ask here.

I created an Imperial Agent that I indend to go light side Sniper with. My question is, will my character change the looks depending on what light level I am?

Like dark side makes your skin pale etc.

In case it does, what does it look like?

The reason why I'm not sure is because there's an option in Interface menu where you can choose to display "Sith corruption", but this isn't Sith corruption, so I'm unsure if light side cosmetics are only for The Republic players or Empire as well.

  14. Do the mission dalies on Belsavis and Illum.

    Do hard mode flashpoints.

Do operations (normal mode, hard mode & nightmare mode).

Do all the side missions you may have skipped.

Unlock all the maps on every planet.

Search for all the datacrons on every planet.

    PvP.

Ugh, I was about to post "what is there to do at lvl 50" thread but might as well post here since there's already a reply.

I never liked dailies to be honest, space missions are just like PvP for me, frustrating. Exploration is useless.

I'm a PvE player but the servers seem pretty dead and everyone seems to be playing SI on my server (me being assassin). Still, I'm lucky that my RL friends are a tank and a healer but when they are not online there's nothing to do.

Also, the absence of "looking for group" tool that WoW has on a supposedly big servers is real pain in the ***, I can only imagine how painful it is on lower populated servers.
