  1. sounds like a DnD handle from Stranger Things. you cast sar on demogorgon for 4hp.
  2. blade barrage is the best animation in the sentinel ability "tree." it's not even close. best audio fx too. literally any other ability should be addressed b/c of aesthetics first.
  3. they no longer cost WZ comms. they're dirt cheap.... i mean...at least the WZ stuff.
  4. it's worse when your player character teammate "saves" you from a 3v1 before you've had to pop any of your CDs and the guy you were gonna kill in 1-2 gcds is now hopelessly out of range.
  5. ah. yeah. this was what I was looking for. so mixing them doesn't hurt (like the cumulative effect is straight 1+1 not a multiplier), and whichever is higher rating is better in the moment?
  6. every week, we receive multiple login rewards that include adrenals. by necessity, these items are legacy bound because the login reward is a legacy perk. however, these items are otherwise exactly the same as standard items. for example, I just got a stack of 10 WZ adrenals today (screenshot). they don't stack with the stockpile of 268 adrenals already in my inventory. thus, I would need to create a second bind to make use of these adrenals. I know this is a minor issue in the grand scheme of STWOR bugs and QoL issues, but what harm would it do just to make ALL such adrenals bound to legacy?
  7. my knee-jerk reaction is that said person doesn't do a lot of alt-ing or may even min-maxing with multiple specs and game modes (pvp vs pve). I have 25 total toons, and all but two of them are max level or were min-maxed at 70 and would be at 75 as well. so yeah, wasting any currency is a pita. however, the currency that I'm short on now is actual credits. I started gambling on amplifiers, had a grand old time on it, and all of a sudden I'd burned through more than 50m credits. d'oh! so it became quicker to gamble with tech frags on new armorings, but that's really a horrible idea given the proliferation of tech frags vs. credits in the game. lol
  8. yeah. this is for arsenel. I think I presented this wrong in the op. I have full arpen and only a couple expertise. exp is supposedly a little better but is the arpen better with full arpen than mixing-in the exp since there's only a couple?
  9. so...my arsenal set is really cobbled together. it's mostly arpen except for shells that are required for 6-set that I use for IO (periodic). so the arsenal set is already kinda cheesed. arpen and weap exp are supposed to be very close, but is mixing them detrimental? I'm assuming swapping out the 2 periodics for weapon expertise is an upgrade, but what about a legendary weapon expertise for a white or green arpen?
  10. I agree that gimp guard should not even exist. I'm not sure why PTs, Juggs, and Sins can guard in dps spec. They have taunt. guard is really the great benefit of tanks in SWTOR pvp. otherwise, it just comes down to which tank can skank better or has more self heals. that said, for whatever reason, BW is married to the idea that DPS specs can still guard. on the other hand, I don't think gimp guard is nearly as bad a thing in ranked as it used to be. early in the ranked game, hybrid healers and gimp guards were the worst abuse to the queue, imo. these days, however, it's more about class stacking. there isn't much anyone can do about 2-3 of any one class opening on you. the number of ops/sins running around in grps in regs is just total /sigh. at certain times of night in the rated queue, it was like that too. 3 of every 4 players on the team would be stealth, so the lone non-stealth was just this sacrificial lamb w/o tank or heals. gl hf. and there were similar complaints about enet in the 4.x-5.x era. and before that the smash monkeys, butthole stunners, and AP conal squads.
  11. just want to jump in here and say that the dev tracker is absolute garbage. one should not need to filter through every irrelevant post a BW employee posts to get to game update info. all dev tracker is is a "search" results post-by-post of anything any BW employee posts (usually not a dev either). so...yeah...that is a garbage link. but in general, patch notes are patch notes. the person complaining about refund timers in numerous threads doesn't have much of a leg to stand on here. patch notes were released before the patch. it's common practice for every game to put such changes in the notes (as BW did), and demanding that BW curate their changes to the extent that they pick and choose specific items to make in-game alerts about is...if not a bit ludicrous...certainly excessive and beyond precedent for any games I've played.
  12. watch streams. unfortunately, I don't know of any healer streamers, but cease (actually_cease on twitch, iirc) will answer questions in his stream if you ask about what he's doing to sage healers. he tanks and dpses. it's easier for someone to respond to you when they can do it via voice like a twitch stream, and streamers can do it during down time or while actually engaged in the matches. more likely to get longer replies. iunno if any of the others I followed are active these days.
  13. if there's a larger population in the queue, then it absolutely affects how many of each WZ you get. Let me explain: prior to the patch, there was generally only one WZ at a time, sometimes two. It was clear that the same WZ was cycled at least 3 times before a new WZ appeared. However, if more players are in the queue, that means one person is no longer seeing every pop. So while the same WZ cycles 3 times before a new WZ enters the fray, one player may only see that WZ one of the 3 times in a row that it pops. This also means that the "regularity" of pops is going to be thrown out of whack, and randomness will take hold. in a truly random rotation, you very rarely see equal distribution, especially in small sample sizes like...a week. for the record, I'm seeing as much HB as any other single map. But that's counting all 3 HB maps as one. I believe that's working as intended.
  14. can confirm major lag in OW planets doing heroics. apparently it was caused by a flood of players doing priority missions or something (on Alderran). in my immediate area there were maybe only 6-10 players. same issue on Balmorra (I was just going alphabetically down the planets! lul). however, there were only two instances of Balmorra available (one was full). so it wasn't specifically the planetary instance. I have not noticed the issue in WZs except for every single HB, which is conflated by desync. Vandin was particularly bad. The Pit is always bad. Quesh was fine, but I never left mid (nor did most others).
  15. instead of getting 3 HB in a row, I get one of the 3 possible HBs. anecdotal evidence is anecdotal, but it's a notable difference from the established pattern over the past month. the only variable I can think of is more ppl in the queue at the start of a new patch. however, I've noticed fewer of the better players in queue this week. could just be coincidence, but I suspect it's because there's a new rated season under way and the first couple weeks are the best for climbing. or so the saying goes.
  16. i thought he meant gimp guard, but I don't see a guard class on his team, and the classes of the other team are covered.
  17. The Space Cows have weighed in with the final verdict: SWTOR is incredibly udderrated!
  18. doesn't work after KOTw/e? that is strange. if we're talking about revamping 10-years old class stories with alterable difficulties, go away. concentrate on new content.

    Queshball, baby!

the layout of Vandin is similar to the Pit, so that the death matching can still play a role in the objectives. it's also much less broken that the Pit in terms of ops just rolling from spawn to end zone in 4-5 GCD (~3 rolls divided by a holotraverse and the few secs they get lost in desync). the layout of Quesh is such that the death matching is completely disconnected from the objective routes. I really do struggle to understand how so many ppl are opposed to arenas in the reg queue when the vast majority of players just "DM at mid" in every map in the rotation, and twice that in HB.
  20. right. since KOTFE, the instanced story chapter difficulty can be ratcheted up/down. and the open world stuff is cheese b/c that's what all open world content is in these MMORPGs now. what is it he's complaining about? why even mention "class stories" at all? that is 10-years old content. there aren't any class stories after KOTFE. if anything, I'd say that's the problem. everyone's running the same boring story vs. the vividly different stories in 1.x.
  21. Wait a minute, can't you change the difficulty on these quests now? I vaguely remember wait no I definitely remember having multiple options for difficulty on these instanced chapter quests. Hell, there are achievements for doing chapters on three different difficulty settings.

I think you're reading too much into it. I think the biggest issue is the games are meaningless. And let's be honest here as mentioned in a different post, the maps are pretty broken given the current abilities of many classes and the limitations of the game engine. In any case, I would prefer to lobby for arenas in the actual rotation rather than this horrible map. And let's face it all we're doing is death matching on this map anyway. So can we please have regular arenas? I know not everybody loves arenas just like not everybody loves huttball but it's kind of bogus that arenas only pop when the population is low and therefore the likelihood of a role balanced match is highly unlikely. Furthermore, arenas are the only kind of rated PVP in this game. Why on Earth are they so scarce in the regular rotation? It's patently obvious that large swaths of the player base don't want to play objective maps.

my favorite part was the obligatory sniper on the pipes. but ppl were so ignorant of (or didn't care about) their surroundings that they let my team's healer free cast on the pipes. anyway, 9 minutes standing there was better than 15 mins deserter debuff. so you could say "working as intended"?

    Queshball, baby!

popped into a quesh match from the start. was going to just leave and eat the deserter debuff, but I felt compelled to get the daily done, and it was late and I'd forgotten to grab the quest last WZ. w/e. anyway... I had no interest in playing the map, so I thought it would be an interesting social experiment to record for posterity. I begin recording about 30s into the match. my apologies for the graniness. I play at 4k, and I think youtube processed it at 2k. the link: Queshball (4/28/2021 [https://youtu.be/vVujT4een2c]). The second day of the WZ's reintroduction to the pvp queue on Star Forge server. I counted a total of 5 players ever even attempting to score or prevent a score. On my team, just one sin tried most of the match (and won). On the other side, it looked like a sent showed some interest (scoring once) and an op spent most of the game trying and getting "fire pulled" by the sin. other than that, it was...well...not even TDM. more like pick your own fight. now again, to each his own if that's your thing. but...uh...BW, is this why you brought this map back into the rotation? at least in the pit, the ball spawn is where ppl TDM, so they will control mid for their team. just a thought.
