  1. Huh? Don't you mean PVE gear should not be better than PVP gear in pvp? Ok. But why should pve players get a massive expertise bolster to the same level of pvp gear whilst still being allowed to keep their superior main stat and endurance? Hmm? If their expertise gets bolstered to that extent then it is only fair that their main stat and endurance get down bolstered in exchange. Fair is Fair No healing is OP. I play a dps sorcerer and I can often times off heal my way through a single dps no problem. Let me repeat that. I am not a heal spec'd sorcerer.
  2. I hope you are not an American.
  3. Dude seriously? Last time I checked, bolster is still horridly flawed. Augment glitch is still in play,PVE gear is actually BETTER than pvp gear in pvp, and healers are now self-proclaimed gods. PVP is a failure of epic proportions at the moment and needs to be fixed. So stop applauding Bioware, they need to know they f'd up so they can fix this mess.
  4. Define irony. A grammatically incorrect sentence that accuses others of having a low IQ.
  5. I thought it was funny. But all joking aside, OP is right (although for the wrong reasons). Bioware, you really did manage to screw up pvp royally with 2.0.
  6. OP I like your idea. It is logical and makes sense. If pve players step into a warzone and get an automatic expertise bolster even though it is not on their gear, it is only fair that their main stat and endurance get down bolstered in exchange. I also agree with you about the the conqueror gear. THERE SHOULD BE A NOTICEABLE GAP between the top level pvp gear and someone not wearing pvp gear in a warzone. The discrepancy between partisan and conqueror should be less though imo. You should be able to be very completive in partisan gear and partisan gear is not hard to obtain. Anyone ************ about it being too hard to gear up is not even remotely serious about pvp and therefore is not entitled to an opinion about how pvp should be. /signed
  7. By your logic then we should just get rid of gear. Upon entering a warzone everyone gets "bolstered" to the exact same stat level. Would that be fun? This is an mmo. Gear discrepancies are kind of the point.
  8. 10% lower? No. What they should do is have a set that is equivalent to what Elite War Hero gear was and give it out for free. After every expansion the top pvp gear from the previous should become free. Simple. Get rid of this bolster crap. Period.
  9. /signed It needs to be removed from 55 pvp completely.
  10. Huh? But that might give someone an unfair advantage!! Blasphemy. Simply unacceptable. Everyone must be 100% equal in every way in pvp. That way we can figure out who has "skill".
  11. Corrected me? I think not. Last time I checked Bioware was spelled B-I-O-W-A-R-E not B-I-O-W-A-I-R. Biofare more closely resembles the original in spelling while still chaning the pronunciation. Thus Biofare is greater than and more appropriate than Biofair for the purposes of this thread. But please, this is irrelevant. Let's get back to the topic at hand. Equality for all!
  12. Ignore him. He is an idiot and does not understand that I substituted the "W' in in Bioware for an "F" to make a play on the verbal pronunciation of Bioware in tandem with the themes of fairness and equality that make up this thread.
  13. Man people harp on and on about skill. So if someone wants to have the best stats possible and grinds out gear that means they have no skill? Pft. Damn straight we want to 3 hit nubs who casually stroll into pvp. Doesn't mean we don't have skill. We have to (and do) use skill against people who are equally geared. The people who support bolster are the less serious pvpers. These are the people who lack "skill".
  14. This bolster business is sheer genius. It's just brilliant. The only problem with it is that it's not enough. Not nearly enough. What they should have done is just do away with expertise and bolster everyone's stats to the same level in warzones. The exact same level. Everyone would have the same amount of endurance, strength, willpower, cunning, etc. WOULDN"T THAT BE GREAT?! No one would ever have a gear advantage again. Screw people who worked hard for their gear, this game isn't based on free enterprise. Let's all just be completely equal in every way in pvp so no one can whine about it being unfair ever again. It will be great! We can all hold hands and sing songs and play with butterflies too! WHO IS WITH ME? WHAT SAY YOU BIOFARE?
  15. I second this. Get rid of bolster. Make pvp the way it was before 2.0.
  16. Agreed. Why did they even put expertise in 1-54 pvp? To try and prevent twinks? Stupid. Level 20s and 30s get 2k expertise while a lvl 50 in EWH gets 1800.... PVP was better before 2.0. Get rid of expertise in 1-54 pvp and get rid of bolster period in 55 pvp. Things were fine the way they were.
  17. Why don't they just get rid of expertise completely? I fail to see the purpose of it anymore. PVP gear is completely useless now. Everyone pvps in pve gear. Get rid of bolster. Get rid of expertise. Get rid of pvp gear period. Hard core raiders would dominate pvp (oh wait they already do) but oh well. At least people would have a real reason to ***** and complain about the disparity. Mabye then the "grind" from recruit to war hero wouldn't look so bad.
  18. Sounds to me like some one is rage quiting because they suck at pvp. Seriously dude? PVP below 50 is lol. It's just a warmup for the real thing. That being said, did you get your advanced class? Are you familiar with how to spec? (srs questions) I just made a sent smasher and don't mind the lowbie pvp. Have no problem taking down ppl 10,15, even 20 levels above. Sure it sucks that we have no stuns, but I am loving the burst (I play a sorc main). Perhaps smasher classes are not for you. Mabye a ranged class would suit you better.
  19. Agreed. Stated the same thing earlier. People automatically think that because TOR is set 3000 years before the original movies that the tech should be worse. Absurd. Are you talking about the Ancient Astronaut Theory? I'm a big fan of it. Agreed. The infinite empire of the Rakata (thousands of years before the republic) had more advanced tech than the TOR era and the movie era. I'm not really trying to discuss the capabilities of the tech in the SW universe. I'm saying that the way this game represents/presents the tech is similar to how they did in the original films, which were made in the 1970s/80s. This is 2013. The representation of the technology should improve imo.
  20. People don't like change. The Star Trek rebooot is the perfect example of what I'm talking about though. A franchise can modernize and still stay true to its roots (not a Trek fan but the new movies seemed to be liked by die hard Trekkies from what I can tell.) I guess a better title for the thread would be, "Why is TOR's representation of technology (and overall feel of the game) reminiscent of the origianl movies more so than the modern prequels? KOTOR?
  21. A long time ago in a galaxy far, far, away. So the long time ago part is kind of irrelevant since it's not relative to our chronological sense of development right? I'm not a fan of Star Trek. I like lightsabers and mystical powers.
  22. You mean the movies that were made in the 1970s/80s?
  23. You make some good points and I agree the industrial places like Corellia look good. I also agree that some of the grungier sections and lower classes could be using some very old tech. If SW wants to include some old cheesy looking technology then the slums are defintely appropriate and it wouldn't feel out of place at all. Bounty hunters and smugglers using old tech would seem fitting to me. But the other classes...not so much.
  24. We have a winner. I agree completely. KOTOR was completely different. The armor for the sith and republic soldiers looked way different as did the Sith ships. I think it looked much cooler and it was Bioware's take on the SW universe imo. It strikes me as odd that TOR, being only 300 years apart from KOTOR, resembles the old movies in appearance more so than KOTOR even though TOR occurs 3,000 years before the events in the movies.... It is as you said though. The die hards would not be happy with KOTOR version of SW hence the original trilogy theme was more heavliy adopted.
