  1. When you think of it, it actually kinda moves color crystals in a direction that they had talked about where they would just be cosmetic.
  2. I also think that part of the problem is that you have a lot of players who really only wanted a single player rpg, were told that we'd get KOTOR 3,4,5,6,7,8, and 9 with this, had a lot of fun with the game and kinda stuck around to see what would happen next. I don't think they lied about it. I would love to see some more story depth but that doesn't discount the fun I've had for the last year and a half.
  3. I honestly, think that as long as the money supply is stable with possible increases in revenue, Class Stories are inevitable though it might take some more time. It's probably the one thing everyone that plays the game likes. I would say make it large (at least big as Chapter 1). Focus on class stories with minimal side quests for a cost and add planetary quests akin to the bonus series later (subscribers would get those free).
  4. Actually, now that I think a little bit more about it, I think I can think of a solution everyone could enjoy. 1) More stuff for PVP. I never PVP (hate it) but even I can see they need at least a few more zones if not some good open world. I have no idea how that works, but with four instances (could be wrong on that) and dead open zones, it seems like pve got more love. 2) Add more new FPs. Not like Hammer Station HM, but more FPs like BT, Foundry, False Emperor, etc. You know, the ones teeming with story. Have a soloable one that was doable in basic gear that dropped gear of the next level. Have a HM that required a group in a higher level of gear, which did the same. And so on and so forth. Best pve gear, would still be only achievable through raids because they would be the only ones who actually needed it. I realize there are some flaws with those ideas, but figured others would either condemn them or help flesh them out or at least tell me why it was or wasn't a bad idea in a constructive way.
  5. The problem with adding anything considered "solo"is that short of a new class story (see many other rage threads) it would just amount to another daily/planetary quest (more rage threads). As mainly a solo player, I sympathize with the argument, but Makeb was basically a chunk of solo content that was just introduced. Anything they add that would be considered "for solo players" would also be immediately accessible to pvp and raiders (who also solo a lot) and would just lead to more of the same arguments.
  6. My favorite was "How was I to know they were planning my surprise party" on Dromund Kass.
  7. Okay, I see your point about the analogy. The point I was trying to make is that say you own a shoe store that specializes in cowboy boots. You've got a good business going for you with a good relationship with your clients. If enough of said clients start asking about you possibly handling other types of boots of the combat, mocc, or Timberland varieties (I'm stuck in the 90s), you would at least consider it. True, enough people could come in asking for Nikes and you would point them to the nearest Academy but you would probably also consider it. I just never saw that post as being realistic and felt that it was a response to a question focused only in the now. If nobody bought Cathar but your CelCawdros Species thread was still in the first three pages of the forum (after whatever weekly I Quit threads were present) as it has been for many months and most of those people wanted Torgruta or Nautolan, I think they'd at least consider it.
  8. I like the idea of being able to unlock datacrons through legacy, but can see a whole lot of problems with trying to implement it. Just off the cuff, I could see it working like the HK unlock in that the datacron could be unlocked via legacy, but only per character for in-game credits or cartel coins once another toon had got it the hard way. There might also be a prohibitive cost for datacrons that require grouping. Some are easy to get and some aren't. With all the variables that would be involved (with possible exploits after implementation), I can understand why it would be put on a backburner even though some sort of implementation would be good.
  9. I think it's a moot point because as others have said, there appear to be a lot of Cathar running around. Having said that, I always thought that that original Developer quote might have been stated while only looking at the short term. After all, it comes off like they're going to extort us with Cathar to get new species, and even if it's true, I can't believe that they'd outright say it. And it doesn't really make sense fro a business perspective. For an example, where I live Chili's has recently introduced pizza to the menu. Neither I nor any of my friends have ever ordered these because if we wanted pizza we have several better options in town. That doesn't mean we want them to stop trying out new hamburgers. Again, I think enough people have bought Cathar, so nobody has anything to worry about. And I doubt that even EA/Bioware, would not at least consider new species given high demand if Cathar sales were lacklustre.
  10. I remember that day. I miss the old forums sometimes
  11. Out of curiosity, how do you find that number? I've seen others mention there's but have never been able to figure out how to find it. NVM, I figured it out. Looks like I'm 9551
  12. Yeah, that's kinda where I'm coming from. I kinda have the feeling that if more of that sort of thing isn't announced or at least hinted at, they'll have another exodus when the next new thing comes out (ESO). And I'll leave it at that, we're all pretty damn fickle about what we want/expect/or think we've been promised.
  13. What OP is saying is that regardless of whether or not these features should have been included from the get go, EA/Bioware has made a pile of money selling it piecemeal to subs and fps alike. If no one bought the stuff, they wouldn't do it. Personally, I think it's kinda hit a saturation point. The initial packs and gear offered items that had been sought after (Revan's Armor), and I personally spent more money than I should have purchasing said items. I haven't really cared for anything in the more recent updates and have spent a lot less real life cash trying to get them. I actually took Andryah's advice and used my stipend to buy packs and just sold them on the GTN, which lead to more money to spend on the items I wanted off the GTN. As far as the 2.1 customizations are concerned, I haven't seen anything I liked and won't be spending any money on it. DarthTHC actually spelled my position out pretty good in another thread, in that I saw this coming so I'm not surprised, though a little disappointed. As long as this business model works for them they can and should pursue it. Like OP said if you don't like it, don't buy it and if enough people do that, they'll change the model. Until then you're just complaining about a thing that really doesn't affect gameplay.
