  1. we agree that old school healing is nostalgic and yeah, takes some skill. we agree mouseover healing is convenient and we cut down on the number of keypresses. we agree devs stated mouseover macros aren't real macros. when i started healing swtor i keybound my heals. healing went like this: click the nameplate with my mouse, hit the 'E' key with my left hand. then i bought a razor naga hex. 6 buttons under my thumb. it comes preset to num 1-6. easy right? i rebound my heals to 1-6. my healing was : left click the frames, click the side button with my thumb, or left hand E. easier? How bad would it be if i wrote little macros like these: button 1 macro: left click down, left click up, delay .020, keypress 1 down, keypress 1 up /discuss:wea_02:
  2. I waited months for this mouse to come out. stalked it on newegg for weeks after release to catch it in stock. got the mouse in the mail and hated it when i first tried using it. i had been using a logitech mx518 for years and didnt realize how funky i had been holding my old mouse. but here is the kicker: Razor states it takes 18 hours of gameplay to acclimate to a new mouse. 18 hours. think about how many hours you play at a time then realize this could be up1 to a week to adjust to the new mouse. the buttons are right in the middle of where your thumb goes. awesome for rocking your thumb back and forth for the buttons, terrible if you grip your mouse with your thumb. there is a replaceable thumb rest that will lift your thumb above the buttons to help, but my thumb is small and cant rock properly with the rest. 12 buttons is too many. very few people use all 12 because its uncomfortable to reach them. 9 seems to be right and some claim to only use 6. the regular naga has membrane buttons. we all know membrane buttons, they are soft, spongy and silent. awesome if you like that. i require a little tactile feedback. the naga buttons are mechanical. you hear and feel them when they click. they are fast and responsive. sure there are only 6 but i can rock my thumb and reach all 6. software. lol. all you healers out there. you need this mouse. devs stated they did not feel like healing mouseover macros counted as real macros. what does this mean to us? the devs feel mouseover healing macros do not violate the spirit of the tos that restricts macro use. [MY UNDERSTANDING OF THE STATEMENT] MACRO FOR BUTTON 1= left button down, left button up, delay .020 seconds, keypress '1' down, keypress '1' up what does the macro do? it left clicks, delays, and presses the 1 key. assign the keybinding 1 to your heal. click the button, it mouseover heals that target. BIOWARE, FEEL FREE TO EDUCATE ME ON THE USE OF THIS MACRO.
  3. your mistake is thinking past failures have any effect on future attempts. and as i reread your post i realize you are calculating odds on having 33 bad rolls.. these are two different statistics. while you may have a <1% chance of losing 33 times in a row, you still have a %20 chance of winning the next time.
  4. did i miss the post on whether or not we can reverse engineer tionese/columi mods that are removed from purchased gear. there was mention of cybertechs getting the schematics from reverse engineering these mods. did this make it into live? i did try old mods, did try new mods, did try reverse engineering lvl 23/24/25 mods. the tooltip mentions they can be reverse engineered, but there is no 'schematic chance' message. any links would be nice. thanks
  5. at the risk of being verbally abused for not giving you the answer......THERE IS A STICKY AT THE TOP OF THE FORUM YOU POSTED IN. IT EXPLAINS YOUR DILEMMA. every crafting skill uses mats collected by two specific gathering skills. information on that easily googled. recipes are available at the crew skill trainer. its on the map when you open the book, it shows the mats used for each recipe. see the tooltips? pick the recipe, click craft. you can use the mats from your bags or your bank mats come from either of the specific gathering skills assigned to your crafting skill. you do not have to pick the right ones, it will let you pick the wrong ones. not sure how you missed the stickies at the top of the forum page.
  6. sorry, no. there is a sticky at the top of the page explaining the way reverse engineeering works. i have nothing new to add other than to /agree with the others. im on who knows how many lvl 29 techblade RE's and still nothing. I have purple patterns up to lvl 37. so i know its not broken. 1. RNG 2. bring lots of credits 3. plan on being disappointed.
  7. fixed it. i remember now why i had the setup i did. one of my monitors was better for text and wow looked better on the other one. with the same resolution, i was only going of pure picture quality. i switched my 'main' monitor in the catalyst program and swapped all my icons back to the left monitor. retained my original setup in looks and placement and now swtor recognizes my 1080 monitor and offers settings for it. thanks for the very simple suggestion i had overlooked the whole time.
  8. ill give that a try, thanks for the help
  9. im running an odd setup. dual monitors running at 1400x900. listening to all my friends brag about their 1080 monitors so i did some hunting and found a good price on this Acer23" 1080 monitor. installed the monitor, installed the drivers, made sure Catalyst was up to date and running smoothly. i run my 'main' monitor on the left its one of the original 19" monitors running at 1400x900, and the acer is on the right running at 1920x1080. still no problems with any other game. but i notice my resolution dropdown menu does not offer all the available resolutions that it should for a 1080 monitor. my wifes comp is sitting next to me and she is running 1080 and has double the amount of available resolutions in the menu. i have it setup so the launcher opens on the left monitor but the actual game opens in windowed-fullscreen mode on the right. windowed-fullscreen is the mode required for dual monitors so the game is shown fullscreen but the mouse will float across both monitors. so i do a little research and fool with my .ini files. still no problem if i want to run at 1400x900 but the game will still not offer me 1080 for the second monitor. [Renderer] D3DFullScreen = false ----------this is the command for windowed-fullscreen Height = 800 ----------this is reset to this value upon exiting swtor NativeHeight = 1080 ---------this is the setting for the native monitor height. NativeWidth = 1920 --------setting for native monitor width TextureAnisotropy = 16 Width = 1280 --------reset to this value upon quitting swtor WindowX = 1440 ---------this value tells the client to open on the right screen WindowY = 0 MeshLODQuality = 1 PlantDensity = 100 FullScreen = true -------second half to the windowed-fullscreen setting VerticalSyncState = false EnableBloom = true TextureQuality = 0 UseMinSpecShaders = false doShadows = true FarClipScale = 1. AntiAliasingLevel = 1 Buckets = 2 GraphicsDeviceId = 26814 AllowDepthOfField = true RefreshRate = 60 [Game] MoviesFolder = ..\..\Movies SwtorRegKey = SOFTWARE\BioWare\Star Wars - The Old Republic any suggestions on how to get the full use out of my 1080 monitor?
  10. logitech MX518 here. i bind my two side buttons to shift and alt. this makes my modifiers right under my thumb, tripling my left hand keys.
