  1. The reason for such terms to make quick comments whilst in battle, you dont wanna have to type "can the tank please take these npcs off me as im dying", its much easier to say "aggro" or "taunt off me please". you missed off adds - when 1 or more npcs join in on the current fight. cc - crowd control - using abilities that temperarly disable the npc of movement or attacks. pat - patrol - when npcs are walking along a set path which may bring them back along your path as you attack a group of npcs.
  2. Im not 100% sure, but I think the founder titles were for all that pre-ordered the game.
  3. It doesnt help that the LFG tool isnt really lazy-friendly, people dont wanna stand around spamming for groups. What would be cool, if you could queue upto a specific dungeon, and all the names come up for people who are wanting to do it, then you just chat to them and form a group, not planet side, but like a loby for each dungeon. Not everyone is loot orientised, i just need what im gonna use and greed the rest. Im not bothered how much i get because i'll probably make more money selling my own wares. However, theres just people out there who are greedy and want all of it, which isnt a game design fault, its a bad personality trait. Like those sado's who sit infront of the auction house all day buying and reselling goods, man why get mega rich in a game lol why not do it for real and be rich in real life if thats all ya care about
  4. People keep posting this crap, but its the people who are too LAZY and ANTISOCIAL to make the groups themselves. Yesterday on Tattoonie, I did 4 heroics with 3 different groups, baring in mind there was only around 30-50 people around at the time. The fact is even though im a healer and not a tank, i still made all the groups and even went off from tatoonie to the fleet and did the mandolorian radiers flashpoint. So dont tell me you cant find people, I dont even stand around, im doing quests when im making groups, or im putting things on the GTN and queuing items for crafting. So dont blame the tools, blame the person using them!
  5. The space combat is a mini game, its not meant to be a jump to light speed replacement, that games dead and gone. Like the original Kotor, it had a very short cockpit shooting game and the pod races, so mini-games have always been there, so they havent changed the mix at all. There short enough for anyone to complete and not feel pulled away from the main game, they give xp and cash which sometimes you really need quickly, like to level up! And the missions get harder as you level up your main character, one I did yesterday was so an escort mission Taspin i think its called and the ship i was aiding barely made it to the cruser lol even though ive got all grade one mods for my ship! What this game really needs is bug fixes not "but i wanted this for my game" garbage.
  6. Ok you talk about WoW having many areas for people to level up in, but thats just because in wow you just have quests littered around which basically consist of a little bit of story that no one reads that tells you to "go kill 10 rats!". Sure its easier to do that and have many more places to quest than to have an actual story to be following. The reason for the linear system is simple, it means there will always be enough people to find on the planets because they are not spread out on different planets. Its better to have 100 people on Balmorra, than to have 30 on balmorra and 70 on a new planet, the people on Balmorra will find it even harder to find people who havent done heroics. WoW destroyed there own group quests because of all the different places people could quest, dumbing down all quests so they could be easily solo'd by a 5 year old, no challenge at all. I played WoW upto 1 month before this launched, and I leveled from 1-85 as a goblin mage without meeting anyone in questing areas, the cataclysm areas like deepholm and Ulldum had 3-5 people around tops, that to me is more like playing a single player game. So what if you could level in 4-5 different areas, the quests were still boring, I'd choose story anyday!.
  7. Bioware will never ask you for your password - thats one of the loading screens. Also "free gifts" = scam, its a dead giveaway even if the punctiation is bad or good.
  8. wow is a single player game 1. from lvl 1-85 you dont need anyones help. All group quests have been nerfed to soloable. 2. From using LFG cross-server, you probably wont even know 1 person on your server, because A) they are rushed through and b) there mostly not on the same server. 3. Wow now has a LF Guild tool because of the impact that LFG tool has had on forming friendships in the game, some guilds ppl just use for the lvl 25 perks, and barely speak to other members. Basically you wanna find a friendly and active guild in wow, your gonna have to join and leave alot of guilds.
  9. no, its the GTX 550i that runs higher clock speeds that cause the excessive heat, I have 2 140mm exhaust fans ontop, two 120mm intake fans on the side, 120 exhaust on the back, 140mm intake on the front, and i have a dual fan psi blowing air into the graphics card, it has nothing to do with fans, its just bad choice when buying graphics card
  10. If you have a evga card, i suggest getting evga precision for it. its an overclocking tool, but you dont have to overclock your card to benefit from turning up the fan speeds. In the settings section, theres an option you can tick that uses a graph to change your fans speeds, its called "enable software automatic fan control" It changes ur fans idle speed from 30% to 40% giving cooler idle temps, then if your reaching 70 degrees playing tor like i was, it will increase your fan speed to %60 whereas without the software it was only 40%, therefore reducing my max temp from 70 to now around 55-60 degrees.
  11. so what your saying is "im too impatient to wait for a lift so i jump down and die, wah bioware?!" You guys make me chuckle.
  12. Potential buyers should check out the many features and videa content that can be found on this offical site and gaming sites, to make up there own minds if it is there cup-of-tea. This game will not suit all people, and yet the people who it does not suit still feel inclined to leave there biased posts scattered on the forums because they probably didnt do any research into this mmo before they pre-ordered. I mean if your going to buy and subscribe to something, you really should find out what your getting for your money.
  13. Alot of players have gotten used to just bashing 1 button and relying on the healer to do keep everyone alive, but it doesnt work well in swtor. In swtor, you really need to learn what your characters combat and non combat skills do, as some give short imobilizing effects while others give longer, and these can be very important when fighting elites of 4-5. Also interupts dont seem to be used much either, very important as most the concentrated skills do the most damage. Focus fire is important, every elite down means less damage to the group, so taking 30s to each take down 1 npc each, rather than 1 npc every 10s is silly, you'll take tripple the damage as a team in the same time it takes if you just take down 1 guy at a time, and cc makes this even more easy. If people use cc and focus their fire (on tanks target), this game is like 200% easier than people just randomly attacking. It just shows the lack of understanding and experience of playing as a team and the low level of skill the players currently have.
  14. A Few ways to get your immersion back: 1. Change font size and chat window box size, so its more vertical than horizontal, but so you can read the text, but its not in your face. 2. Right click general tab, chat options, change the general font color to something slightly paler than its current cyan brightness, that way it blends in more but make sure its readible. 3. in chat options untick general tab, this will give you 100% better immersion and only takes a few seconds to retick it back on when your looking for a group! (my fave option). Hope that helps
  15. Cross-server dungeon finder was one of the worst things that was added to WoW. 1. Ninja looters love it as they can join groups, steal everything, then never see those people again, its soo anti social behaviour. 2. Dungeons always feel rushed which puts more pressure on the healers, especially if your not well geared, and when wipes occur people tend to be very absusive and sometimes kick people for minor mistakes. More anti social behaviour. 3. You can level 1-85 in WoW now without even knowing 1 person on the server, i think this is very sad. Blizzard introduced guild perks so that people will join guilds as a balance to this issue, but it just mean a bunch of anti social members stuck in a guild with "Gz" echoing in green text. If a dungeon tool was to be implemented it would be much better if it was just for each persons own server. Cross server will just promote more anti social behaviour and create a far less pleseant social interaction. As for the anti social people commending this post, why are you playing a mmo in the first place if your not interested in social interaction? Its pretty much the whole point of playing in a constant world...
  16. This is a constructive post i applaud you, (so many whiners out there, but this is contructive). Ive too experienced buying the wrong gun and no being able to get a refund. It would be really good if there was even 10 minute peroid where we could sell-back our item to get full refund, as i spent 14 commendments on a gun i cant use, but luckly my companion can, and even thought i get 14 more, its still an inconvienience that could of been avoided if all the possiblities had been thought of when designing vendors. I hope something gets implemented eventually. For now, take your time when buying stuff, and maybe sort out your mouse sensitivity, default is always crap.
  17. Not gonna quote first post, cuz im lazy. So here we go. Are you nutz?! Have you even played a bioware game before? You have companions in all bioware games, sure you can go solo, but only if you had: 1. right gear 2. Certain spec. 3. cheats (never used them, for ppl with no skillz). Doesnt mean you need a full group of companions to do every single quest, for most the solo ones you'd probably just need a healer or a dps if your the healer. Maybe you need to learn about the combat mechanics of your class! been in heroics+4 where groups wipe because they dont even use imobilizing skills when fighting 5 tough mob npcs. WoW i hear you say? for 3 year olds who have no skill wat-so-ever or people watching TV using macros to spam there 1 button kill switch! All i hear in these severs is "wah wah wah, mommy!" - learn how to play your class, or find something easier to play.
  18. there is a lfg mechanic!!!!! Its called /who where you can right small msg for ppl to see and mark yourself for lfg. Merry xmas caps monsta!!
  19. ok ive not had much sleep, so pls excuse any errors in spelling etc. I havent Played EVE, but I have played WoW again for the last 3 months, and I can tell you one thing. (Based on moonglade server) Thunderbluff = EMPTY Undercity = EMPTY Silvermoon = EMPTY Ironforge = EMPTY Darnasas = EMPTY The Exodar = EMPTY Shattrath = EMPTY Dalaran = EMPTY Orgrimmar = under 100 people most the time. Stormwind = Cant really say, but probably the same. The Most ppl I saw when lvling a goblin mage from 1-85 was on the starter goblin island, orgrimmar standing around AH or uldum, and that was just druids farming herbs. The only time you play with others is cross-server dungeons, where you dont speak to anyone, ppl are rude and steal everything. Guild perks are needed to force ppl to join random guilds, because you dont even know many people on your server useless you chat in trade :S So much for lots of areas to quest in, they had to nerf all group quests because theres no-one to group with! GW before expanisons was super linear, doing quests to the dungeons was dot 2 dot, but it meant you had people to do the dungeons with no matter if it was first timers or twinks, NOW you have 3 different campaigns to start from, you only see people mainly when the campaigns moved to eye of the north!!! It went from ppl grouping to do quests and dungeons for everything, to everything being done with companions. So your WAY OFF the mark here! dont need to be tech savy.
  20. For the people saying there frame rates per sec are low, I think this is more an issue with your hardware. Ways to increase FPS can be the following. - Disabling shadows, set to OFF not low. - Disabling Vnsync, through the game and graphics driver 3d settings. - If you want vynsc ON then enable tripple buffering in graphic driver 3d settings. - if using Windows 7, change desktop from Aero to Standard Win7, as Aero hoggs memory. Update your graphics driver from nvidia.com or amd.com (ATI) depending on what graphics card you got. These should help a bit.
  21. Joining heavy servers means queuing! So new players if you dont want to queue dont join heavy or full servers!
  22. when playing a new mmo, best to read the info thats been shown to you, I bet most you ppl dont even check your codex or know where it is lol. Its not an aution house, its a Galatic Trade Network, there are kiosks on every planet apart from the one you started on. You can use the filter options on the large map to find things more easily.
  23. Laptops arent good for graphically demanding games, better to get a desktop. Heres some cheap uk warehousing type websites that produce desktops and have laptops, but best to look around. overclockers.co.uk scan.co.uk
  24. did your antivirus start a scan, or did windows update start installing new updates? Sometimes things going on in the background will affect your pcs performance. Best to alt+tab and check out whats going on outside the game first, before you start blaming the game.
