  1. There are damage meters that you can run simultaneously with your game, that if you run in windows mode can show you up to date information. I understand like any tool it can (and in an MMO community, will be) abused, but damage meters in of themselves are not bad things. They allow people to evaluate their performance and try to really get the most out of their character. Personally I started to enjoy this game 10x more once I found out how to run the damage meter while in game and have that information, because I LOVE to dps, and I LOVE getting the most out of my character and pushing the limits of what he is capable of. Using it as a "hurrr 1800dps or ****" measuring stick is where people get the stigma from and rightly so. It just needs to be used appropriately.
  2. You are so right the clunky mechanic that doesn't save any binds or hotbars is SO much better than one that does save it. P.S. the devs agree with me.
  3. Probably because this game is a star wars themed, more story driven version of WoW? Implementing good features of similar games only makes sense, stop being so ignorant.
  4. Hi there! As the title says, I just have a relatively simple crew skill question. I am leveling what I am hoping to be my first 50 at the moment, a lvl 23 jedi knight, and I currently have biochem and bioanalysis on him. The only trouble is, I don't really have a lot of money to spent 2k every ~10 minutes sending my 2 droids out on diplomacy missions, and im not really using the exotic mats because by the time I've RE'd up to blue or purple I'm just about to the next level of green stim/medpac. So here is my question finally sorry, is Slicing worth picking up solely as a way to make money while I am leveling, I know it was early in the game, but I just came back after leaving around February or so and I'm a little out of the loop. Thank you so much for any input I really appreciate it!
  5. I suppose what I can do then is maybe not 100% nar shadda and hope for the best then Thanks for the input!
  6. This is something I don't entirely understand....is the point to outlvl the content by the 3rd planet? I was 18 when I left the 10-15 planet, and will be 23 when I leave the 15-20 planet heading to the 20-25 planet, it just seems like by the time I'm on the, say, 35-40 planet I'll be leaving at like 45 or something and doing gray quests is no fun. Does this change later on or is there a difficultly jump from one planet to the next?
  7. Wow I COMPLETELY read that wrong, thank you for showing the me the way! haha
  8. I'm a big fan of the increased stun from force charge (stagger), but was considering switching them to unstoppable, do you think this is the better of the two options? It seems a lot of leveling includes fighting packs of normal/1 strong mob is the main reason I took it, but I'd love to hear your input!
  9. Thanks for all of the helpful information everybody, I really appreciate it!
  10. Hi there, just a quick question if anyone would be willing to drop some knowledge on me. I really like the idea of the Shadow play-style but I have a multitude of DPS characters already, I was just wondering if anybody has recently leveled as a Shadow tank how that worked out for them. Thank you for any input!
  11. Hi there, just a rather simple question for you all; I just started an operative the other day, and I really like the idea of energy and not "mana" for my spells and abilities, and the healing style seems really interactive. I was wondering, how viable is it to level as a healer, is it a complete snoozefest with no damage? I understand that basically every spec in the game is "viable" to do the story but I'd like to do some pvp, flashpoints and group quests along the way, is leveling as an operative healer a decent choice or just boring and leveling dps would be faster and just as efficient? Thank you so much for any input you are able to give I sincerely appreciate it.
  12. Hello there, I am a former founder/subber that came back with the wave of F2P players, however I actually decided that I liked the changes so much that I ended up subbing again. I remember quite vividly that when I left, biochem/bioanalysis/diplomacy were the clear kings as far as professions go due to their reusable items that they can make, but that this was mainly for max end content such as raiding. My question is this: I am leveling a new Marauder and really want to enjoy the process and story, are these still the best professions that I should take? (I have no higher chars other than a 32 Commando so other than a few hundred thousand credits, no real funding) Thank you so much for any input or information you can give me to help
  13. Sorry to come in sounding like a complete noob, but what is this hybrid spec that people talk so much about, for whatever reason I can't seem to actually find it in a talent builder. For leveling purposes if somebody would be able to give me maybe a guideline of which order to pick which talents I would be forever grateful. Thank you for all of this wonderful information!
  14. You're totally right you should just be able to faceroll every single ability with no time in between and unleash a fury of death and destruction!!1111
  15. People here are unbelievable, you ask for a spec, he gives you one along with an informative post, and you ***** because you can't be bothered to check the name of the talent or the tree that it is in? Wow.
