  1. Thanks for the clarification. All makes sense. I guess I assumed most studios would basically package at least one or two preview spots with their films under negotiated terms where they weren't really out that much financially. Not saying they own the advertising space, but they certainly own the film and can basically say to any given theatre, if you want Infinity War, you gotta take our ad for whatever with it. I'd think a studio like Disney with guaranteed cash cows would have the upper hand in leverage there with the theatre. But, again appreciate the info. I think my frame of reference is probably not sufficiently analogous as well. I was thinking of this idea in the same vein as network television. As in, say CBS airs the Superbowl this year. Ad spots will be sold to whoever, but CBS will also stick about a thousand promos for their television shows in every commercial break. I just figured film studios had similar perks baked into their contracts with theatres.
  2. One thing I've long wondered is why SWTOR doesn't utilize its "baked in" advertising stage with respect to theatrical films at the very least. With the box office juggernaut that is Disney, why not slap some 30 second ads onto the front end of Disney movies. I mean from its name sake, Star Wars films, to Marvel films, Disney could give the game an immeasurable amount of exposure by attaching swtor spots to their films. Can you imagine if they had stuck a SWTOR ad on the front end of Infinity War or Black Panther? Anyway, I'm no expert, and there may be reasons why we don't see things like this happen with media giants like Disney. And it could be as simple as Disney wanting to reserve those preview ad blocks for projects (mainly films) they have more confidence in as money makers. But, still, as a SWTOR player/fanboy since launch, I'd love to see them try and grow the player base by utilizing what I would assume for the Disney family is free ad space affixed to their monstrously successful theatrical films.
  3. This has always bothered me as well. Workaround I've employed is wearing one of the "headband" type helmets underneath. Makes it look a little less bald to me. Also, Kreia's Hood will show underneath, and covers the bald zone.
  4. I'm certainly no mmo expert. Just a dumb guy with an opinion. I play both WoW and SWTOR, but love SWTOR much more than WoW. I've played SWTOR since launch and enjoyed everything the game has done to this point. I guess my take on this possible shut down or development cessation would be that I don't see how SWTOR could be in imminent danger of going away given all the crummy mmo's that are still out there and kicking. Lesser mmo's that I've tried and think are just weak have been going for a long time and are still alive. Even though I love Tolkien more than any other fantasy or sci fi genre, I've tried LOTRO and find it just plain bad. SWTOR (imo) outshines it in every way possible. And yet LOTRO has been going for like 11 years, right? And there's DCUO, running I think 7 years now and to my knowledge still in operation, even though it doesn't come close to SWTOR quality. So, I guess, I just have a hard time seeing a great game like SWTOR that's been able to maintain a subscriber base, going away, while other crummy mmo's are still going. Wouldn't they fall before SWTOR? Am I totally off in my thinking on this? Again, not an mmo expert, just my thoughts and reasoning when I hear of SWTOR's possible demise.
  5. I would love to see playable Nautolan happen! Would also like two new classes: Sith Empire Trooper and Republic SIS agent.
  6. I've had a Life Day Reveler deco placed in my Nar Shaddaa stronghold for a year. After yesterday's patch, whenever I leave and return to the stronghold, the deco disappears. It's still there on it's hook according to the hook placement pop-up window, but it's just not visible. I have to pick it up and replace it to make it visible again.
  7. I have a playlist for each of my characters, which reflects their personalities, backstories, etc.
  8. Haha. YES! That was my first thought, although with an added condition. My thought bubble was something like "Clearly a straight man designed those."
  9. I had opened a couple rooms on Yavin fine on Saturday, then the server crashed (Star Forge). After that, I'm now unable to expand any rooms in any stronghold , either with credits or Cartel Coins. I click expand, the pop-up then closes, and nothing happens. It acts like it accepts the click on "expand," but nothing happens. Rooms don't open.
  10. And still she would say, "I'm not just a pretty sidekick, buster." - muffled voice emanating from inside the bucket.
  11. Exactly! Not to mention, paying for eye color changes, which I've done, only to have them now obscured.
  12. Mako: "Did you miss me?" My BH: "Sadly, yes... with every blaster shot so far."
  13. Absolutely!!! The server merge went incredibly smoothly, and for my having been on a dead Pot5 server, the merge has made SWTOR so exciting again. People everywhere on fleet. Doing WZ's again is awesome! The game feels alive and I can't wait to play everyday now. THANK YOU KEITH AND ALL THOSE INVOLVED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
