Daelia or Kor or w/e has been the most helpful and informative person on the Sorc forum. He has however recently taken on the persona of an elitest. Very sad because his message is always accurate. The unfortunate thing is his delivery of said message (recently). Give the guy a break, he comments on idiocy every day.

Bro, I have raided with mage class types for past 10yrs dating back to EQ and I promise you : as of right now in this build madness is the way to go for Ops. Lightning will have you standing in fire and branded forever as a baddie. Even if Lightning parsed or simmed or w/e 1/3 higher than Madness you should still go with madness. A dead dps doesnt top charts no matter how op his build is on a target dummy. A dead dps will however be blackballed forever by top PVE guilds. Don't get blackballed by top PVE guilds. (that last bit was made to mimmick the cox cable commercial).

Daellia does your sim take into acct the defences (and lack of) ratings to various forms of damage. Wondering because my parse of hybrid is consistantly lower than madness on champ dummy. Thinking this may be due to internal damage vs. w/e FL damage is ?

I agree very much so with this person. I was black/red mage in FFXI, Mage in WoW, Bright Wiz in WAR, Demo in AoC, Ele in GW, winged caster thing in Aeon etc.. I love ranged magic ONRY. C A S T E R P R I D E !

The theory is based around my dislike of TB.. the cast time the damage and crit mechanic. 11 in madness to get DF. My thinking is aff cast, instant cast DF, LS spam till CL rinse repeat. TB basically wastes any crit capping and consumes a reckless charge if I am not carefull. It works in my mind but I am away from my comp ><

Finally Daellia responds... My intent in the first place but got flamed last time I requested you in forum. How about DF instead then? 2 sec TB for instant DF with similar CD's ? I just really really really hate TB's mechanic.. negates your crit stack and wastes reckless proc if is on.

Had nothing to do with FL spam. Was thinking FL only when barrage procs ? Trading a hasted dd FL for a weak TB? Has absolutely no similarities to 25/16. Your only filler is LB. guess I should have been more descriptive with gameplay but I figured it was obvious. Just trying to get around a terrible 31pt skill. This build works in theory if the damage from dd FL or DF trumps TB : that is the only trade-off... Also I was not aware FE proc'd instant TB : if that is the case post 1.2 then it would seem BW fixed the light tree and this point is moot. Has this change been confirmed(very exciting if true).

I have experience with all these classes as well. I honestly do not believe the reason for the population explosion is due to ease of use but rather how cool a sorc is... Think from the perspective of a sw fanboy and not an mmo vet. Afterall the emperor was a sorc. I do apologize for the shut down comment, that was truly unnecessary. But I feel inclined in RL and in-game to stick up for those being harassed. Unfortunately in doing so I harassed you. But you have to realize by now that you are trolling and the only thing you are accomplishing is alienating(prob misspelled w/e) yourself. I think it would be best if you just left it alone and let those that care about sorc discuss sorc. Wouldn't you agree that is fair sir?

Russlem, buddy, what is being said in regards to sorc CL nerf (DPS) is indeed a little muddled. Yes, 2% decrease in sustained STDPS but the loss of burst & splash damage is considerable. Some of the posters here are having what seems to be an issue with communicating their thoughts. Honestly the only one that should be posting about 1.2 sky falling QQ sorc nerf is Daellia. The unfortunate thing is it seems Daellia is uninterested in going tat for tat or w/e w/you because you seem a little hostile. If your point was to troll and get people riled up then congratulations, you have succeeded. If your intentions are to open a thoughtful text string to bring to light the fact that everyone feels screwed then YOUR communication skills leave much to be desired. Odd considering you are a professional blogger. As I digress, please lose your "everyone but Russlem is an idiot" tone or come to grips with the fact that you are a troll. Durability?

CL is no longer a wrath'd procc'd skill. That build(25/16), even pre-1.2, is meh. Post-1.2 it will still probably be the worst DPS build out there due to being dependent on 2 filler skills (LS&FL). 3/7/31 or 1/12/28 is going to be your top DPS builds for both PvE & PvP post-1.2. Happy hunting !

Hmm.. Multiple posts backed with math and in-game experience refutes this last comment concerning 13/28 (light/madness) hybrid spec. This is the best ST DPS spec for PvE as well as the top spec in PvP (debatable for PvP bc top damage does not equal top performance). If you are having issues w/effenciancy of said hybrid spec than stop spamming wrathed CL every time cooldown is up.

Is very nice to see a fellow MMO vet that can handle a dissagreement. I was beggining to think Daellia was the only one. +1 to you sir. Btw : alacrity would be MOST usefull to a light sorc, but according to Daellia's sims is still last on the priority list of relevent stats for all sorc specs.

My main alt was Ele Sham... and if I remember correctly maxdps.com rated crit > haste to soft cap. This is not a personal atk on you friend, just trying to make sure the OP doesn't get bad info. I do apoligize however if you think my response was aggresive in nature. Wish everyone the best of luck and hope all have as much fun as I do playing this game. Ultimately the point of this game (for me at least) is to have fun pwning content and wzs with my fellow players *guildies, friends, non-douche PUGs etc..* Having fun > being right. If is more fun for you to stack alacrity then do so. The actual difference in stat priority is neglegible as long as you are not debating something along the lines of acc > power (for example)

Alacrity ? I am pretty sure your priority in stats should be : 1. Willpower 2. Power 3. Crit (soft cap) 4. Surge (soft cap) 5. Alacrity The reason for willpower and power being 1st & 2nd priority is due to scaling. There are no soft or hard caps for these. You should always reference to your knowledge gleened from years of playing WoW.. is basically all the same.

Well I think that you did. I am interested in how my spec stacks up against the cutter 31pt madness spec with regards to ST DPS. If helping another have fun and continue playing a game we all have vested interest in is wasting time then by all means do not. I have noticed from Daellia's multiple posts that he is indeed interested in helping others, I could have misinterpreted that to include me as well. If that is the case then I appoligize for being so presumptive. What up Deallia (or someone as informed and reliable as he) need you to SIMC this build for me and tell me how it stacks up to conv 31pt madness ST DPS please. 32pt Madness (2pt Force Horror and 2pt Parasitism) 9pt Corruption (3pt SD, 2pt HP, 2pt FS, 2pt EB) Your help is very much appreciated. On a side note : All you trolls that follow Daellia's SIMC posts please refrain from doing so. I am only interested in math based facts that reflect 100% efficiency of tested specs (Patchwerk type Boss as being the unfortunate test subject in this instance) I am interested in this spec for it's surviability in PvP and also ST & AE potetial it has(DF + FS w/the 2pt FS talent boost). Currently this spec heals me for ~500/sec when all 3 DoTs are on 1 target. I have yet to test ST DPS viability due to the absence of combat logs and am honestly too busy to SIMC myself *putting the utmost faith in Daellia's provided info*. I work 70hrs a week as Sales Manager for a Ford store... so the issue is more a lack of time than laziness(which is also a factor I admit but less so than the former).

Why un-sub b4 the actual patch is here... Seems to me that they are all laughing with thier combat logs about our reactions (in reference to char balance). Until we have some version of dps/hps/tps meters we are (for the most part/sims excluded) in the dark.
