  1. Challenging for you, maybe. Honestly, if something can be solo'd in this game it is not challenging by definition. Nobody is carrying around a bag of tricks.
  2. I agree that beginners deserve consideration. But does the entire game need to on beginner mode? How about some veteran solo content zones?
  3. Yeah, somewhat. But what I really crave is the risk/reward of Everquest 1 circa Planes of Power. That, I'm afraid, is a day long gone and not-soon-to-return.
  4. You mean: Welcome to today's MMO. People used to craft games with intelligence and passion.
  5. So you're all just a bunch of sheep? Can't someone even tell me I'm wrong? LOL
  6. Uh, nope. I got bored playing the knight about 4 hours after I hit level 50. Repeating the same quests over and over, just on different planets is not much fun. PVP is not fun in a game like this, it is not a PVP game. Crafting is stupid after you spend a week making a set of 33-40 armor and realize that its going to cost millions of credits in mats to make the next set. This game is just a grind fest with no real challenges. Nothing that makes you think, at all. The only thing that stops people from beating the OPs are the enrage timers... no skill, just go grind out more gear until you can beat the timer. F'n lame.
  7. This! hits the nail square on the head, folks. Bioware and EA are not evaluating game performance and player happiness based on an idea of having this game around for a long time. More like, for a while. Everything in big business has been moving towards the short-term profits since the 1980's. No reason for this industry to not do it also, apparently.
  8. I have a level 50 knight, 43 sage, 37 commando and enough others to have a full suite of 400 crafters. I think I have a sense of what is going on here.
  9. Title says it all. Other games actually require skill and planning. This game is boring me to death.
  10. Nothing wrong with that at all. In fact, you can be quite profitable since you're not spending anything on those 3. I would ditch Arch and take Slicing, though. Slicing is a straight money maker and largely skips the middle part where you sell stuff to players if you just run lockbox missions.
  11. Yes it does. I do this all the time and it works 100%.
  12. The abundant and moderate grade 5 missions can yield the (300) mission unlocks which also sell well and can yield some of the rare® cybertech schematics (since most people don't run these missions, apparently). On my server, the UWT mats you get from the 300 unlocks sell for more than the mats from 340 unlocks, so investigate a bit and see what is best.
  13. Yeah well, EA realized that you can't continually raise the bar. So they just lowered it. A lot.
  14. Diplomacy is THE way to raise your light/dark faction. Hands down. If you actually want to achieve light/dark 5, then you will be a diplomat at some point in your career, or you will be waiting around for a long time.
  15. Yup. Did this with my Shadow. Strength adds full bonuses for melee combat, exactly what you would have gotten from the same amount of Willpower, you just miss out on the Force bonuses you would have gotten from that bit of Willpower.
  16. I can tell you one thing for sure: ALL of the consulars are going to be using the level 19 crit-crafted orange hat. Ya know, the one that has almost no graphic? The ONLY one that doesn't look like it was ripped from a bad fashion show on Naboo. Yeah, that one.
  17. If you are basing this solely on the patch notes, you might be a bit more patient. Not only is it clearly stated that the patch notes are not final, there is not much specific information in the patch notes. I am curious about the orange schematics that will be coming from Treasure Hunting, this is something that I felt was missing and I am glad it was dealt with. This probably means there will be at least 2 tiers of orange lightsaber schematics in addition to the current level 50 models on the vendor. That is a good change that makes artifice more competitive with other crew skills. I am a bit bummed that there is no specific mention of duplicate enhancement schematics, this leads me to believe there is something regarding that issue that we players are missing, perhaps.
  18. Afaik, there are specific schematic drops that are tied to specific missions. I can't tell you by name which are tied to which, but I see absolutely no variance on these drops. They always come from the exact same missions every time. I learned this trying to get certain ones from Slicing and saw that it works the same across all of the mission skills.
  19. Hmm. Lower the mats you say? I would have thought the change in schematic would be an increase. Those are gonna be some cheap *** speeders, mang.
  20. What they do hint at is that the speeder schematics are going to require (possibly) a lot more material to craft, which should put retail prices of player made models in line with vendor models.. over time.
  21. This is speculation based on rumor. This is not stated, or even hinted at, in the 1.2 patch notes.
  22. This would not help much. You are still required to do a bit of math to figure out what the selling price was. The bugged messages give absolutely no specific info at all. The only price info you get is the amount of credits you receive which is the selling price + (deposit - fee). It is easy to get an idea what might have sold by glancing at that number, but if you are only differentiating by a credit or two you will never figure it out for certain in a reasonable amount of time with just that information.
  23. This is all good stuff. But it should be free to punch him out the airlock.
