Hey Devs,
Instead of talking about " What color is Revan's outfit ?"... How about addressing the RP'ers issue?
Seems simply?
-
this game IS anti RP. there is no doubt about it.
FACT: BioWare...........You are alienating a lot of potential role-players
-
Listen...
PVP'ers and PVE'ers on numerous occasions asked for minimal enhancements to their gaming experience and BioWare listened and sometimes delivered.
However when it comes down to the RP community, they have failed to listen and delive or even answer for an update.
For example, Chat Bubbles... yes they have mentioned that they tried it during beta and it caused unwanted results in the engine. But they have stated that they will fix the solutions. All I want is an update on this feature and some of the other RP features in which we all have been asking for. A simple updated answer from BioWare.
What I don’t understand is all the negativity and constant people knocking down our simple status update question when all we want is a simply answer from the devs?
Also its statements like "this there is no need or reason to communitcate to the other faction and both /em and /say should be removed..it's ONLY used to trash talk and troll by 99% of the time it would be used....no one needs that. " that makes me wonder on why people like this even bother making post on this discussion when its all we doing is simply asking for small enhancements to our gaming experience, just as much as yours.
Right now patches seem to fall under just a few categories: dailies/events, cartel items, flashpoints/ops, or warzones.
Will we ever see a game update that is RP focus BioWare?

Interesting article that was written today at http://massively.joystiq.com/2013/06/25/hyperspace-beacon-why-i-roleplay-in-star-wars-the-old-republic/
It brings up several issues that BioWare is neglecting in their MMORPG ( the word RPG is Stressed)
Lets face it, BioWare does not care about the role player community anymore, lack of chat bubbles, sitting, the list goes on and on.
Hope your listening BioWare.

We shall not let this go..... please answer this question
-
Rise from the dead...
Will we or will we NOT going to get this feature ???
Whats the status?

Truthfully I've gotten used to no chat bubbles. To me it looks better than to just have a bunch of white boxes covering up my screen when I'm on fleet.
Simple solution..... you turn them off
if we even get this feature
-
This discussion can be simply addressed by having BioWare provide us with an update or provide us a answer!!!
BioWare answer the question please...
Will we or will we NOT going to get this feature ???
Whats the status?
"Lost a planet Master Obi-Wan has. How embarrassing … how embarrassing." --- Yoda
"Lost the ability to answer BioWare has, How embarrassing...how embarrassing." --- Players that are asking this question
-
So BioWare.......
If making some profit is the main priority, and have this feature is a #1 posting in the suggestion box... and your lack of answering the question is obvious.
I guess we shall pay for this feature.
How about it BioWare? Can we make a deal?

Listen chat bubbles are standard in MMO's. But the question is this.... BioWare stated that this game will have chat bubbles. We are simply asking whats the status of it. Its no different then other players asking when new content for PVP or PVE is coming out.

BioWare,
Instead of news on your Cartel Packs and coins.....How about some updated news on your promised chat bubbles fix since Dec 2011?
-
BioWare,
Instead of giving us in depth descriptions of your Cartel Packs, how about telling us what is the state of adding in Chat Bubbles?
You have TOLD US on several occassions on why this feature was left out. And you have TOLD US that you guys are working on it.
FORGET THE CARTEL PACKS UPDATES FOR NOW!!! Whats the status of the promised chat bubbles???
Enough is enough!!!!
-
It's a very small minority issue, I'd rather they address important things.
By continuing to add more and more PVP and PVE content? I highly doubt that will ever end.
But fixing a social/chat overhead issue should be an issue that needs to be addressed.
Add chat bubbles Bioware!
-
Bioware, whats the status of chat bubbles?
Stop ignoring this issue and toss us a bone !!!
-
Why are chat bubbles and other essential role-playing tools not being addressed in the summer of SWTOR plans?
What is the target date for chat bubbles??
What happened to this basic promised feature in which almost all MMO's currently have?
Bioware, whats the status of chat bubbles?
Stop ignoring this issue and toss us a bone Bruce...........

Thanks for answering Greenify,
I'm sure your more then qualified to answer instead of BioWare.

Greeting to the BioWare,
I was able to attend your Community Cantina event in LA last week, and I just wanted to say thank you for putting on an event such as this. I strongly recommend fans of the game and Star Wars to attend this event. Being around with other gamers with the same compassion and love for Star Wars is truly aspiring, especially after having a few drinks. Please continue to keep it up, and I'm certainly sure your events will continue to grow and turn into something huge in the future,
However, just like in any other type of event that involves large crowds and group conversations along with Q & A’s and an occasional drink or two, certain people may be left on the sidelines due to lack of time and other reasons. However you guys did state that any questions we may have can be answered on the forums.
So if time permits, can you possibly answer these few questions?
1) Now that EA has acquired the exclusive license for Star Wars games, are there talks within your organization to expand SWTOR and extend your player base by putting more investments into the game? What is the foreseeable future of the game, especially with new introduction of Star Wars movies and animated series on the horizon?
2) I may speak for the minority of your player base with this question, however this is a question which a few of us have, and I'm sure certain people on the forum will try to answer this question or make a remark about it.
But what is the status of implementing chat bubbles into the game? We have been told back in January of 2012 that this basic feature will make its way into the game. Can you please update us on this feature?
Again, please thank you for taking the time out of your busy schedule to answer these questions. I wish I was able to ask these questions last week in person.

bump it up pls

"Dear developers and other employees of Bioware, Lucas Arts, Disney and Electronic Arts!
A large part of the player base can't enjoy the game properly because of the lack of chat bubbles (aka speech bubbles). Therefore, on behalf of the affected players, we are hereby suggesting and formally requesting an option to toggle chat bubbles for spatial chat (/say, /yell, /emote).
This thread has started in beta shortly after chat bubbles were removed from the game for "optimization", reposted after the forum wipe and has now run an incredibly long amount of time while still remaining constructive and has garnered a lot of support ever since.
Fact is, chat bubbles are for the roleplaying and social aspects of the game what the group finder is for the PVE aspect and the warzone queing interface is for the PVP aspect. Both the latter have been implemented a long time ago, yet players of the social and roleplaying aspects have never received their equivalent - speech/chat bubbles.
A large part of the player base, and an even larger part of the potential player base (and the player base that left the game because the feature has been missing so long and wish to return once it's implemented) needs an option to toggle on chat bubbles. Indeed, chat bubbles are a "must-have" feature to be able to enjoy the game and their playstyle for many of the socializers, roleplayers, casual players as well as players suffering from certain medical conditions out there. People are leaving the game every day due to this feature missing. On the bright side, many have voiced interest to return once the feature is implemented...but the longer it takes, the easier it will be to loose them permanently."

BIOWARE.....
SWTOR is profitable and content is steadily coming out.
Can you please tell us if you are going to implement chat bubbles or not?
A simple” YES or “NO" will do. Simple answer or a simple answer will do.
Devs, are roleplayers forgotten ?
