  1. Well I'm glad I got my infernal title before they broke Soa even more. It's going to be nearly impossible for anyone to get this now, as resetting the phase disqualifies you from the title. I'm guessing most people who don't already have the title are going to have trouble 1 shotting Soa on nightmare with two balls going for the same person. Good work Bioware! Fix 1 issue, cause 2 more! Edit: P.S: That's some epic music on that video. Did you guys see him not reset multiple times in a row? Cause I've seen that bug before, but it happened once in a blue moon.
  2. What? They're not making those changes to the content that is currently out, and if they do, all they'll do is nerf 16 mans. They're talking about in regards to the next tier. EV and KP are intro raids so the kids who suck have something to do. Hopefully now that they've spoonfed the casuals and downies gear and a time sink, they can start making actually challenging content, where 8 man will be "slightly" harder, which, as an 8 man raider, is 100% fine by me.
  3. A couple other things to try that have worked for us on nightmare: 1) I (being the tank) press Alt+t every time he changes target (the default keybind to assist your current target). As soon as I see who bonethrasher is currently attacking, I toss a guard on them, and call their name out on vent. 2) The person who is being attacked stays in front of the boss (obviously), and everyone else gets behind. Once a new name is called out, we just switch around to make sure nobody is in front of the boss other than his target. 3)There is a bug where BT will pick a new target right before a swipe, turn around, but still swipe his previous target, resulting in a swipe damaging everyone behind him. You'll have to just get a feel for the fight to work around this, it takes some time. 4) I know you said DPS isn't a problem, but we've had more attempts go to **** when the manta cats come out than any other time cause it gets a little hectic. We generally CC the south one, kill the North one, and leave the South one CC'd for the rest of the fight. 5) This probably isn't an option for most people, but running with two sorcerer healers makes the fight SOOOOO much easier. Being able to shield everyone takes a lot of the deadly out of the swipes. 6) Don't get discouraged. It sucks how buggy the fight is, and how RNG it is. For some reason, BT can randomly crit with a swipe, and it will 1 shot anyone in front of him no matter what. If you want him dead, you just have to put a few attempts in to it, and not get discouraged/pissed off. Hope that helped! Lemme know when you get him
  4. Bravo! Amazingly well formulated points and post. I agree with every single point 100%. Unfortunately, Bioware has -3 customer service rating, and if a member of their team does read this, they'll be too busy not being able to speak English to forward any of these points to the 3 cats, 14 year old girl and ice cream cone who design the raids for this game.
  5. Honestly, I'd prefer it if they'd just balance 16 and 8 man difficulty, but left the loot the same (obviously drop double on 16 man, but of the same items). I like raiding in an 8 man in this game, and I'm sure some people would enjoy raiding in a 16 man if they had the people available. Having the choice to do either is nice. If they made 16 mans better loot, than someone like me who tries to stay on top for server progression would be forced to join a 16 man, in which case people could argue "why not just take 8 mans out, nobody's going to do them cause the loot sucks". All they need to do is balance the difficulty between the two. I'd prefer it, personally, if they'd bring 8 man difficulty up to that of 16 mans, rather than nerf 16 mans, but that's just me. Either way though, if the new raid in March isn't bug free or difficult (on nightmare at least), and doesn't bring some new, unique items to the game, I'm sure I won't be the only one searching elsewhere for a new time sink.
  6. No. We subbed someone in for Soa last night and someone else in the raid who didn't have the title yet got it. The person we subbed in already had it though, I'm not sure if he would have gotten it or not after missing the first 4. You become ineligible for the title, however, if you reset the phase at any point. If your pylons bug out? No title for you. If Gharj decides to forget to spawn the second platform and then doesn't let you back in the instance until you reset? No title for you. If the third boss respawns in KP and you can't get back in? No title for you. 2 hour nightmare clears are easy, but getting the titles can be quite difficult!
  7. The only time backpedaling is ever useful is if you're a tank trying to position a boss into a tight corner or into a specific position on an edge of a platform. Backpedaling is slow. Strafing while turning with your mouse allows you to move at full run speed while still facing the target enough to attack.
  8. LOLOLOL did anyone else watch that little video on the preview page and watch the game developer clicking all his abilities and backpedaling? It all makes sense now...
  9. Allow me to first say that I'm absolutely disgusted with the fact that they've left this encounter alone without a fix for so long. Nothing worse than going for an infernal run and having that crap get stuck. Now that that's out of the way, there is a decent workaround for it, the NSSN workaround. We've had extremely minimal bugging of this encounter when we solved it like this: You have north solve the first row first, then South does the second row first, South does the third row first, and North does the last row first. So you can actually do it like this without taking any extra time, you just figure out how many turns in each direction each row is gonna take, and get it one away until the designated side solves first. For instance, if the first row is going to need 3 turns left for north, and 2 turns right for south, you click right at south once, wait for north to finish, then click right at south again. Just make sure you rock the NSSN! We've only it bug out once since we started doing it this way, and it was just the bug where you can still click the panel, but the blocks don't turn. If you do encounter this one though, you can just exit area and come back in without resetting it. Hope this helps!
  10. Are you being serious? We cleared 10/10 nightmare mode 4 weeks after we started raiding on a 6 hour/week raid schedule. I'm full rakata and ~half battlemaster. I would agree with the other posters. If 1.2 doesn't bring some challenge, a new tier of gear (and not some BS 142 rating 26 level mod crap, a real step up) so that we don't outgear it the day it's released, I'll most likely be spending my subscription money on 15 beefy crunch burritos to put in a blender and take a bath in once a month.
  11. Did you guys used to have a Marauder throw down his 90% accuracy debuff? Cause that doesn't work on bosses anymore.
  12. Well, the first person running back from our wipe pulled him, not sure if he tried to avoid him or not, or just wasn't looking for him (since we weren't really expecting him to respawn since, you know, he's not supposed to respawn). We ran past him into the other room, and he reset back to his starting location, but we all stayed in combat, and the two people who hadn't zoned in yet when he pulled were not allowed back in. We tried all zoning out, and then couldn't zone back in at all. It kept giving us the "encounter is in progress" dialogue, even though everybody was outside.
  13. yeah bro we did it in an hour and a half, including having to clear the fourth bosses trash twice, and the title is for clearing it in two hours, we totally didn't deserve it.
  14. Allow me to start this off by saying that I've been playing MMO's for 7 years. I completely understand that new games are going to be buggy, and I've dealt with every bug in SWTOR up to this point quietly without complaining (too much). However, I'm a raid leader for a small 8 man ops group on Kinrath Spider called Eye for an Eye. We're currently the top progressed guild on our server, and we all greatly enjoy raiding for the sake of challenging ourselves to rise above the other guilds on the server. Last night, we entered KP with the intent of trying for a 2 hour nightmare clear, attempting to get our nifty little titles, as a bug had squandered our efforts last week. Of course, it happened again. 50 minutes in, we killed the third boss, Foreman Crusher, and after a 30k wipe on the fourth boss, whatever his name is, Foreman Crusher had respawned, pulled, and no longer allowed any of us to zone into the instance, forcing us to reset the phase, killing any chances at a 2 hour clear (not because we couldn't kill him again and still make the time, but because the title becomes unavailable if you reset the phase). Then to add insult to injury, after we defeated Karagga on nightmare (well before the 2 hours, might I add) the chest that the patch notes promised would now properly spawn did not spawn. The chest is supposed to contain a pretty awesome mount, which we were all looking very much forward to. So, being the raid leader, I assured my raiders that I would do everything I could to at the very least get an actual human response from a Bioware employee regarding our issue. I made a ticket and stayed inside KP, hoping that possibly a Game Master would be able to find our chest inside a wall or something, and still let me award the mount to one of our deserving raiders. 20 hours later, while I'm asleep, a generic Email comes in saying they would be unable to provide me with any updates but that my issue was forwarded to the relevant department. I sent another ticket in, pleading to at least be able to speak with someone in person about the issue, pouring my heart and soul into the ticket, but again, just a generic response that looked like someone who didn't even speak English summarized my ticket back to me. It is infuriating to try and keep a skilled group of players motivated to continue raiding once we already have all of the content clear on nightmare, when Bioware's bugs are going to defecate all over our goals. I'm not one to toss out threats of unsubscribing lightly, but every time Bioware attempts to fix bugs with a patch, they seem to create even more. The game has been out for 2 months now, and we can't even raid as Bioware intended. Then to pour salt in the wounds, they have the nerve to blatantly ignore my request to just speak with a GM for 5 minutes? As I said, I promised my raiders that I would not give up on this issue, and I will continue to call, submit tickets, make forum posts, and visit developer's twitters until I'm at least rewarded with a conversation with a damned human being. TLDR: Third boss respawned during a KP nightmare attempt at a 2 hour clear, had to reset instance, lost ability to earn titles, chest is still bugged even though patch notes said they fixed it, can't even get a CSR to speak to me. Pretty angry.
  15. Can we please just revert back to the way it was until you find a better solution? I'm finding my characters almost unplayable with this new "improved system". It's flamboyant as hell, annoying, and makes it impossible to tell which abilities are usable if the GCD is active. For a possible fix, maybe not showing this ridiculous curtain for GCDs would work, and just for actual cooldowns. But maybe consider putting your **** on the test realm first so people can give you this info before you actually release it? Wouldn't that make sense?
  16. While I understand that there was probably a lot of effort put in to the UI currently in game, and that there are plans underway for a more customizable UI in the future, are there any plans to implement a mod API and allow us to use addons? I realize there are concerns that addons similar to gearscore, decursive, or healbot may cause problems with the game balance that you beautiful people are going for, but there's simply no way for you to come up with as many UI customizations, features, and other helpful tools as the entire internet can. I feel like the lack of customization available is really negatively impacting the game, and the sub par auction house interface is really hurting the economy. All of this could be fixed by just allowing us to develop and use addons.
  17. If you guys are going to have a glitchy game with a large memory leak, at least give us a minute to get back in the game before you kick us out of a Warzone. I just had an instant game crash to the desktop with 1 minute left in a huttball that we were winning, I had 9 medals, and didn't get anything for it. Not the first time either. Pretty pissed off.
