  1. People will tell you "get a better rig" or "problem is in front of the monitor"... Personally, to get a playable experience in PvP (25 fps+, EDIT: That's Alderaan, Voidstar and Hutball are a little better as they're indoors) I need to get 110 FPS in PvE areas. I will not post any specs here since people will tell you BS all day long about how your 500 bucks GFX card from July must be the bottleneck and you should turn shadows off etc. But rest assured, each and every guy I ask gets a massive FPS drop in PvP areas, people with ultra-high specs just don't realize it that much (eg. from 140 FPS to 60 with a SLIed GFX 580). What's really messing up performance is: - There are no low-res-models for player characters in the distance. - There are no options to deactivate spell/skill-effects from other players or alter draw distance. - There are no low-res-shadows or working low-res models for distant objects The problem at the moment is painfully obvious. The engine renders every single guy swinging his lightsaber 150 feet away and renders every shadow of every stone as far as halfway across the map ---> Naturally, in areas with many shadows and many effects workload on the GPU will pile up like mad. Solution: Look at the engines of other, well-performing games. In any other MMO with modern graphics shadow draw distance, character detail draw distance and object detail draw distance are vital options for high performance gameplay especially in PvP. Now while I'm sure BW can't just redesign their engine, what CAN be implemented is "adjustable shadow draw distance" and "deactivate spell-effects except own group/player". These two things would already improve the performance by a huge margin. Valyx
