  1. Madness for lvling isn't an awful spec, has some good CC and control to it for assassins, but just doesn't have that burst or as many defensive ability's as deception or darkness. And it's self heals are mostly crit base so that's too unreliable if you ask me. http://www.torhead.com/skill-calc#200.3 here's a link to a AC skill builder for Sin. Could help give an idea where you want to take it.
  2. There's a difference between challenge and time consumption. The story in it self isn't much of a challenge, and the gameplay is very simple. Leveling is a means to an end, and double XP allows people to reach that ends in a much quicker time. If you seek a challenge from lvling, put self implications onto your own gameplay. Such as play the whole story in empty armor or naked, only do class story's or other things. By saying that double XP takes away a challenge is false, because there was no challenge there in the first place. And why it's good is because it allows people to experience the story's and lvl alts in a shorter fashion giving us more time to focus on real life or our mains. And not every game needs to be super challenging, like when I play kotor 1 compared to Dark souls, kotor 1 is a cake walk. It's not really a tough question because lvling isn't the challenge. But the end game is where the real challenge comes in. I can sort of see what you're talking about, but I'm saying lvling quick isn't a challenge remover where there was no challenge to start with.
  3. Much like a lot of other PVPers I want a WPVP focus planet, I want open PVP where I don't have to work with 8 or less people and forced down a corridor and do specific objectives. I liked the idea of Ilum but it was done poorly and was a lag fest. But what caused Ilum to fail to the lag state it was? Two reasons I can come up with is the environment. There was so much on the screen at any given time, that the engine forced the computers to strain them self's to run. And two, the major PVP part was compacted into a small linear area where the hordes of people had to meet each other. So a good planet to avoided those two issues is Dantooine, an iconic planet from both the KOTOR games and a planet a lot of people wanted on launch. I can see why Bioware didn't use it story wise for questing because there's not much on the planet. It's a farming world with a Jedi academy in ruins. So for a PVP reason the Sith could send a strike force to destroy the planet. It's a farming planet so if they could harm the recourses of the republic food wise and the Jedi academy housed many of the old republics most known Hero's. So by burning the planet they can destroy any symbol of hope that planet gives to the republic. So what would make Dantooine any different from Ilum to avoid lag? One thing is that Dantooine is a very simple planet, mostly planes field and a few mountain rocks. So the environment doesn't need too much in it, and rather than throwing destruction and all sorts of things around it adding to the planet, allow the fact that as players we're charging and killing each other. Let the actions of the players set the tone and feel of the planet, that death is everywhere on this lively planet simply from all the PVP. Also, use the whole planet for PVP this time, so people can avoid the big groups of people and dodge the major lag spots during times. By having such a massive size planet use this can allow players to go where and fight where they choice and allowing to do PVP dailies in the order they choice. Speaking of PVP daily's this is a good way to add onto the planet allowing players to earn PVP commendations with out having to do WZ only. Allow us more than one way to earn our gear. And with that also throw side objectives that help the planet scale war. Like say if the Empire controls certain spots (I.E flags raised or something) than the whole faction on that side will get a minor buff. So that it encourages more PVP even when you're done with your dailies, to help your faction win the way. And maybe throw in instant kill mobs at your base faction. To avoid Ilum where the empire over ran the republic and just destroyed their base. I do want to see more WPVP, and I know a lot of other PVPers do as well and have WPVP mean something to where we can gear up. Also no boost would be nice for it. You go there with the stats you go there on. Hopefully Bioware reads this and I do hope we get a good PVP dedicated planet. And Thank you reader for your time.
  4. This is really debatable if it's Biowares part to do anything. For example, the expensive parts is the purple augment depending on your server. My server last time I checked a purple augment was around 100k-120k each, and a blue one was only 10k-20k or so. With only a four stats difference or around there, you could always get the blues first and earn the extreme amount of money you can get from raids and such. Or if you're part of a guild, there's bound to be some one who would give you them for free. I get my augments for free all the time. Wile I saw people bring up that they can reduce the rare drop of the required mats, aside from that there's nothing Bioware can do. The price and value of the augment is based on the community and if you feel people unjustly price them, than buy the blues. And if that's also expensive on your server...You might just want to switch servers.
  5. I'm so tempted to spam my IA in full tionision tech outfit in here... Still not the Sith warrior but still Tionision
  6. This is generally why I avoid low lvl pugs and solo FP with Treek. It is a bit harder than having a whole group, but I don't have to deal with people like that and I get 4x the amount of XP from all the kills. I don't know how bad it is anymore from experience but I've dealt enough of those kind of players long enough during launch and refuse to do normal FP with people most of the time. Got to love Treek.
  7. Having an astromech droid in general as part of the companion list would be nice. Wile in the star wars Luke was with him most, Astromech droids became an iconic part of star wars every where. Anyone who owns a ship owns a astromech droid.
  8. Story's the most expensive part of the game as well. SWTOR isn't making the big $$ that was expected since a good chunk of the 500k subs at launch quit the game early and they need around that much for several months to make the money back. Now me personally I would want Bioware to release the story's over time, giving basically planet bit size time by time. So it's not just one big cost, like how episodic games work aside from the payment each time if you're a sub for me personally. But the point is, Story's aren't going to come back unless we as the community is willing to take some form of compromise and understand the issue with making 8 different story's all with reasonable length.
  9. We need more class story, I don't care how Bioware does it. I want to see what happens
  10. Just like a lot of the community we want our class story's to continue. On my smuggler I want to see what happens after my grand adventure, expand with my companions more and so on. But it's a dream that cost too much...At once? Now here's my suggestion that could bring back our story's and give Bioware and EA a reason to bring them back. For games like the walking dead, it's episodic base and releases the story bit by bit. So for Bioware they release each class story bit by bit, rather than the whole chapter. It might not make the story any cheaper, but it can allow Bioware to release is slowly allowing the subs and Preferred players support to allow them to build the story's reducing the risk that's at the cost of it. And it could convince people to sub by making it subs get it free and preferred players have to pay each bit individually. But to this my guest would be subs wouldn't own the story they have so if their subs end, they can't do anymore of the story. Wile preferred players will be able to play all they want, but will cost a bit more depending on how long on the subs play time. So it would be a bit fair to the players, and allows Bioware to continue the story's that we as the community want. I'm not sure how many other people feel about making the story into a more episodic style because I've not seen anyone really bring this idea up. But maybe it could work.
  11. I really do wish Bioware would do some kind of green light for the story's. There are some cool things they can do that would convince people to donate. Like say donate 500$ and get a character in the game with a characters appearance and name. Or a thousand and get a character of yours in the dialogue with name reference and things like that. I would be willing to donate 500-1000 to make my characters cannon in the star wars universe.
  12. I'm mostly mix on this idea since I love anything with the name Dragon in it and fighting a Krayte dragon would be fun.. But Krayte Dragons normally can't be killed by conventional ways. Most Krayte Dragons die of old age, massive explosions, or hitting the little soft tissue they have. Most notable a very small spot some where on their head. And to get it to scale, Krayte Dragons are around 30 meters. A rancor which is still huge on the screen is only a mere 5-10 meters long. So getting one in game with a hit box and be fully on screen will be hard. I do wish Krayte dragons were in game, but it's understandable why they didn't put one in due to their large size.
  13. This is a very good concern and argument. It's very hard to give a definitive answer expect base by base personal story and explanation. Such as For Jedi guilds they can say it's "Training" and simulation, and sith don't listen to the Dark council much. Spoiler In the sith inquisitor story the all of act 2-3 is you going to war with Thanaton, so Sith do have a lot of in fighting and the Dark council can't stop it over night. But I do agree with this lore concern in certain aspects but we can use character explanation for these scenarios or just say screw story for once. But I do see and agree with what you say for most points.
  14. I'm not an experience programmer but from what I know most of it would maybe be reusing current game codes to match the requirements that are in game right out. I.E the outlaws den and guild recognition. The hardest part would be setting up planets where it can be done but at best that might just take a week or so of programming.
  15. Haha play on words using a game name for this idea. Ok serious however I'm going to say I'm a big RP and PVP person. Together I love it and have the best time on game during those moments, separate I do enjoy them as well. So here's an idea that I looked on the forums before and found things close to it. Now let me say that most suggestions I've found have asked for Bioware to basically add a flashpoint area or something along those lines for guilds to do WPVP. But I don't think we need exclusive areas for it, this game has so many amazing locations and great environment that can be used for WPVP. So why don't people do it that much aside from normally Tatooine? From what people told me is a lag thing and people lag on Tatooine even as well when people from across the sever comes to PVP. So what if we could WPVP using something like the outlaws Den where you can attack other people even from same faction and not hit your guild mates? But instead of just using the same location over and over again, you could do it on any planet? Well bring in the gankers and kill the lowbies! Or what if it was done with using much like the dueling system but on a much larger scale? So what I'm saying is what if guild leaders can just duel another guild leader and both their guilds fight as if they're in the Outlaws den but change of location and for those two guilds only. You don't have to worry about ganking lowbies, very little abuse can be done to it considering the only people who can be PVP'd are those in the guild and both guild leaders have to agree to it. Using an example here, let's say there's two guild on coruscant. One a underworld drug ring style guild and the other a security force guild. Now say both are RP PVP guilds and that the security force guild wants to raid the underworld base, say the black sun cantina in the black sun district. So for the RPers, they can do just rolls and not have as much visual or speed to the RP, a standard RP. Or say they go to the Outlaws den to PVP it out, but what's the point of fighting over a location when you can't fight in that location. But with this system both guild leaders just do as if they were going to duel, and the whole district becomes the outlaws den like for just those two guilds. Fight on planets you never dreamed of WPVP being on. Now some people will argue why not just fight in outlaws den, but like I say before it gets boring fighting on one planet all the time. This way we can change the environment. Some would also worry about abuse, but because of no earning of commendations or exp from WPVP, you can't grind up people and because it would be between two guilds that agree with it, ganking wont be done. The biggest issue I thought of was how much time would it take to draw away from normal development of the game. And with what's currently in the game they do have the systems to make this work. Using outlaws den as an example, they do have a system in the game that makes everyone fightable and your guild mates friendly. And with guild leader recognizing for the two to agree, they do have the change guild name which can only be used by the guild leader. So the game does know who's a guild leader and not. And because these systems are in the game, it can be done on the side and doesn't need top priority where Bioware can focus on what they plan to do. I'm going to put bulletin points here so if this post is too long to read, you can just read these instead. Allows WPVP anywhere in game Avoids abuse and ganking Systems are already in game to make this easy to make Can encourage fun guild with guild events Entirely optional for players to do. Yeah sorry for long post for just four simple points. But I really do think that this idea can work and I do hope Bioware does something like this. It would be nice to get more places like outlaws den or just fighting other WPVP areas outside of Tatooine and avoid tons of people from all across the server to fight.
  16. That list seems a bit short to me...I shall do better next time! haha
  17. If I might make a suggestion, you could always do /roll to resolve the conflict if they want it done in RP Everyone rolls and the winner of the that one part of the fight wins. Now against Imperial characters it would have to go by the honor system, but better than fear of god moding. Wile not the perfect suggestion, it's better than nothing.
  18. This looks like fun I'm going to post my pirate RP character. Name: Ommar Gef (Legecy name) Faction: Republic) Profession: Pirate (Smuggler) Reason for Warrant: For kidnapping a senators daughter among his many several crimes, but this crime is the focus. ( A bit clitche but a good start...) Relevant Info: Home Planet of Nar shaddaa and wears a brown trench coat along with two side arms. Has short black hair and is human, recently been spotted in Cantina in the Black sun part of Coruscant. Associates: Unknown of any current Associates expecting none. Special Goals: locate the senators daughter where about from information gather from the Pirate. Hopefully this character would be fun for you guys, if I'm not on my smuggler you can contact me on my imp character Zen'n. Hopefully we can work a time and date for the hunt to start, if I'm lucky I might bring some friends haha.
  19. I'm personally more of a fan of the buff/debuff idea. Now it would be nice to see every class get a new advance class, but there's one issue. That would make four new classes and Bioware would have to redo pvp over all and/or the classes to keep a semi balance. But one thing they can do is just have every class have a buff/debuff AC with their own style. And something like that can work with the two trees and the shared one. One skill being buff, and the other being a debuff. Maybe something like smuggs/IA can get a target but powerful buffs, so wile they can't buff/debuff everyone they can make one super soldier or one meek enemy. As well with JK/SW they can just buff one person, wile weaker, the buff would make an aura that buffs everyone with in range. And for JC/SI, the only good one I can think of would be kind of like a sin tank style. Where they target and shout people. Again with Troops/Bh I can't think of a good one and only thought of an AoE style. But Bioware could make a leadership AC for all classes, still make each feel different, but not to the point where it's chaotic when it comes to balancing between each class. That's just my thought, but could be fun to see.
  20. I'm trying to work out a schedule so I can participate the tournament. In hoping to set my own schedule up before sending my character information. This whole thing looks like fun.
  21. I know this sounds a lot like RDR but I did take a little inspiration for my smuggler from it. My smuggler gives up crime and returns to his fathers home planet of Dantooine. He marries a simple farm girl and has one son living life as a simple farmer. The exchange, who he worked for years, find him and kill him. But not before he could keep them away long enough to get his family to safety. His son then picks up his main blaster pistol and uses it. Just like my character and his father before him and so on.
  22. This makes me feel...ashamed to call my self an imperial player. If you want a challange, go to Black Hole on Corelia. Only lvl 50s and a real fight. Not much "bragging rights" on killing a group of people half your level....It's like saying it's a powerful wolf for killed a mouse. Not shocking at all and not even worth watching. Now a bear fighting a single wolf and the wolf winning. That would be awsome and worth watching. Fight a bear man...not a mouse.
