  1. I would spend hours at a time customizing my house and our Guild Hall in SWG when I didn't feel like killing things. My Fav was a Kryat Dragon Skull with glowing crystals in the eye sockets... that was cool. I also remember some dude built a massive Aquarium in his home. It was on the Server Things to See List. i loved the inside of our houses. They were great. I did not enjoy the urban sprawl that you had to navigate to get anywhere.. that got old quick. The Apartment Idea is the best idea. Planets like Nar Shadda, and Couroscant, and the space station make perfect sense for this. Have a square with vendors and trainers, then elevators that take you to instanced rooms. In the grand scheme of things not that difficult to code.
  2. Han happened with his "Special Upgrades" lol The Falcon is basically the GFFA version of a Pimped out Honda Civic with a Dodge Viper engine stuffed into it. That's gonna cause a lot of stress on the ship that the designers never intended. Thus it's going wear out faster, and require a lot more work for upkeep
  3. Hollywood feels the same way about Zhan... I recall seeing him mention on his website or his facebook page that he's never even had offers for the Film rights to any of his non star wars books (Pick up his Cobra Series... Great Read!!) It just seems to be his writing style does not translate into film, but sure makes for great books.
  4. There is a whole thread with book recommendations a few post down from this one. it even has the same title! I recommend checking that tread out.
  5. Han is the only one that appears to be getting older in the new novels. I really liked the way they had him handle Chewies death. As for a good end for Han.... I picture a "Grand Turino" style end for Han when I picture it. A grumpy old fighter that outlived everyone that he loved using his death to get one last win over the bad guys.
  6. I really liked I Jedi by Michal Stackpole. It's the only book written in the First Person viewpoint, and deals with Coran Horn learning that he is force sensitive and becoming a Jedi. Been years since I read it, but it was really cool. Agree the X-Wing series is great! All of the new books have become very very Jedi centric. It's nice to have this series that deals with the regular guys like Wedge Antilles. I wish that they would do more in this style. Thawn Trilogy - This series is responsible for getting more people hooked on star wars books than all other books combined. I have no proof of it... but it's true lol Movie Novels & those set just before and after - Great place to start. Anything that adds to the stories you love is a good thing! Karen Traviss - I really liked her books, and am sad that her story arc will remain unfinished. Traviss Loves the Mandalorians, and hates the Jedi, and that comes out in her stories. I imagine her stories are kind of like those that we would read about the Romans if we could find what the Carthaginians wrote about them. It was a refreshing take from the Jedi Can Do No Wrong stuff that prevails in the novels.
  7. Having read the YA book series that delt with Qui-Gon training Obi-Wan, it was shown that Qui-Gon had already had a Padawan fall to the darkside. But then again, this padawan seemed to be a run of the mill Jedi, while Obi-Wan started out as a Youngling destined for the Agri Corps, when Qui-Gon decided to take him on as a Padawan, and Obi turns out to be arguably one the best of the Old Republic Jedi. So I think that Qui-Gon was good at teaching non standard Padawans. He has also lost a padawan to the darkside, so might recognize the signs. I agree that he would have gotten inbetween Anakin and Palps, and that would have messed up the grand plan.
  8. So to summarize the OP: Biowear: Stop working on the game as a whole. Start working on the tiny bit of the game that I Play. I am more important, ask Blizzard, WOW closed their servers after I quit because they didn't do what I said, so I took my ball and went home.
  9. I think everyone except our Girl Friends would be a bit more accurate.
  10. It comes from the Comics/Books/Games of the Expanded Universe. The Movies really only deal with a very small portion of the Galaxy Far Far Away. Imagine trying to imagine Planet earth around the 30's and 40's just by reading the histories of Churchill and Hitler. In Star Wars, the movies essentially deal with what happens to 10-15 people out of a galaxy of untold trillions. To take what the movies say as the Gospel Truth... well it's like basing your entire view of human history from one book. There is much more to the back ground story of Star Wars that the Authors of the EU flesh out. All this information that was not crucial to the on screen story of the Skywalkers, is fleshed out in the EU.
  11. Well technically that is the answer to the Ultimate Question of Life The Universe and Everything, not the answer to the meaning of life. The issue is that no one yet knows what the question that 42 answers is. dammit now I want to start a petition to allow Bounty Hunters to carry a Towel.
