  1. I love the story of most classes. However, even though I find it fun for the first 20 levels that I have several options to choose from, soon I realize 90% of them have no real meaning other than gaining affection or dark/light side points, 9% result in getting some pointless mails with no real consequences, and the other 1% are the few, rare decisions pertaining to your class/companion story that make a difference. I think BioWare did a great job with the voice acting and facial expressions. However, I think they didn't invest nearly as deep into the MMO component of this MMO game. I am not paying monthly fees to play a single player game with some repetitive "online group grinding" involved.
  2. This represents the mentality of about 90% of the haters. Pure selfishness fueled by denied ignorance - since you don't need/want, no one else can have... Get it through your head: WoW's macros are not game breaking - they are a basic extention to the keybinding options. The only exception is -maybe- /castsequence, wich is not automated, and very limited. Yes, everyone can play without them. But some of us like to play with them.
  3. Each player has his/her own favorite playstyle. I don't care if you're a clicker, a keyboard turner, bind stuff from 1 to 0 and easily reach it with your long fingers on your tiny laptop. Some of us like to bind things differently. --- And to the hypocrites that complain about how those who can make the best macros have a huge advantage - wich is false - and how they shouldn't be forced to use/search for such macros to compete... ...I simply say those that have big hands, small laptops or make the best keybind configurations have a huge advantage, and I shouldn't be forced to use/search for such configurations to compete... Macros are no different from keybinds, modifiers or Cover bar. All that hatred against macros is blind and ignorant. Read below in case you missed it.
  4. Or don't use most of their skills and complain they get beaten. Or have fancy mouse/keyboard with alot of extra keys. Simple keybind-related macros are harmless. Those who don't like it, don't use it. Those who like it, use it.
  5. Hurt/Heal is not a macro making a decision for the player. The player knows exactly what he wants to do when he hovers the mouse over/targets a friend/enemy and clicks said key.
  6. Hypocrisy at its finest. What do casual players do usually? - Ask what's the best spec. - Look up popular specs/configs/macros. What do hardcore players do usually? - Think up the specs/macros. - Post said specs/macros for everyone to use - including casuals. --- If you are a casual and meet a "hard core" PvPer, right now, without macros, what do you think will happen? You lose. With macros available, nothing would change. The fact is that the macros suggested here are simple, harmless macros. You don't know what macros can or cannot do, or simply didn't read the suggestion, or you wouldn't be spewing this nonsense.
  7. NO TO: - Cast Sequence macro functionality - Combat Log - Add-ons like Boss Mods (that trivialize game mechanics) YES TO: - Targeting macro functionality (mouseover, focus, self, target, target of target, friend/foe) - Modifier macro functionality (ctrl/shift/alt) - State macro functionality (out of/in combat, dead/alive/ mounted, stealth, cover, charge, form, cylinder) - Scoreboard AFTER the combat (like in Warzones) - Addons limited to customizing UI looks. - Power Auras style buff/debuff

  9. 10. Modifier; Conditional & Targetting Macros, are indeed the only kind of macros we need to make the game more fluid. By "we", I mean the ones who want macros in the game. Modifier: - Shift; Alt; Ctrl or a mix of those. These may seem useless since we can already bind "modified" stuff, but this gets important when mixing Modifier with Conditions and/or Targetting. Conditional - easily limited by Bioware: - In Combat/Out of Combat - Stances (charges, cylinders, forms, stealth, cover, etc) - Mounted/Unmounted Targetting: - Friendly target/Hostile target - Mouseover/focus/target/self ---- Nothing of the above is ever (not even slightly) going to give me (who wants macros) an edge over you (who doesn't want macros).
  11. Maybe they should remove loot rewards from Warzones and Operations/Hardmodes. Afterall, I'm sure alot of people wouldn't mind doing those things for fun. Lying to yourself has its limits, I suppose.
  12. I see what you are saying. But keep in mind I did not suggest: - cast-sequences - ability to measure how much of a resource you have - ability to measure how much health you have Although now that I think of it, allowing to check for buffs would allow to check for procs, wich would simplify... I'll remove that idea entirely. But the combat/out of combat and the stance modifiers are very useful and not meaningfully impacting. --- Checking whether target is friend or foe is completely legitimate. It simply allows me to have less keybinds. I hover my mouse over a friend, I obviously want to help. I hover my mouse over an enemy, I obviously want to harm. This would allow me to have a single keybind do both a Rapid Scan and a Unload, depending on whom I'm aiming at. Other situations, for example: If I have Combat Support Cylinder, I want my mouseover to allow me to target friends with my auto-shots; but not needed if it's not active. So it would work like: /use [stance=combatsupport, target=cursor][stance=combatsupport, target=target] auto-shot; [target=cursor, harm][target=target, harm] auto-shot
  13. I only agree to penalties for doing wrong, if there are rewards for doing right. Instead of (or along with) penalizing griefing, make it worth the challenge/risk of attacking same/higher-levels.
  14. I'm against Mods. The closest to Recount that is useful without negatively impacting the game is a "Score Board" (like the one in Warzones) when you kill or wipe on a boss, giving you an idea of the damage/healing/absorption/avoidance you did at the end of the fight (whether you won or lost). I'm in favor of keybind-related macros - to reduce the amount of keybinds or make your targetting more effective: 1 - target=mouseover/target=target/target=self/target=focus 2 - modifiers (shift, control, alt) 3 - Stance-modifiers (this includes Stealth, Cover, Warrior Forms, Assassin Charges, Bounty Hunter Cylinders, etc) 4 - Combat-modifiers (this includes whether you or the target are in combat or not; and whether the target is friendly or hostile) 5 - Effect-modifiers (this includes whether you or target have a buff/debuff or not) To those of you who will say 4 and 5 represent automated gameplay, I must say I disagree. The decision-making without them is very simple, and often limited by lag or other factors that are completely unrelated to skill or knowledge of the game. It also means you must make an educated choice because most skills in this game have a cooldown you need to monitor, and certain skills might not be wise to couple, in this regard. I am not in favor of multiple skills being used simultaneously on a single keybind, like cooldown A + cooldown B + opener.
  15. The macros I'm suggesting wouldn't dumb down gameplay, nor make you less skilled. They are 100% related to binding. - Mouseover instead of clicking F8 to target the operations 8th member. - Changing the function of a key depending on whether you are in stealth or not, rather than changing the whole bar... - Instead of having 2 slots prepared for Sprint and your 60 min buff, just have one slot do that to spare quickslots.
