  1. First month and a half you give away pvp to every new 50, like it's FREE.... Then WHAM, you nerf the chance on tokens 3 times in a row? and now every new level 50 is going to need to spend 3 months collecting gear to compete with the 20% players who was given EASY champion/battlemaster gear .... Cmon *** ? It's like YOU as developers live in 1995 and haven't heard of whats been going on the past 17 years in the MMO genre .... When you launch a game so similar to WoW, ATLEAST DONT DO THE SAME MISTAKES! If you made the Gear extremely hard to obtain to begin with, then you could easily balance it out slowly making it easier and this way it would remain fair and EVEN to EVERYONE playing your game, both the first people dinging 50 and the ones joining in later - NOone would be affected negatively. But noooooo... let's do the same mistake SO many has done before you and start out making gear SOOOOOO easy to get, that EVERYONE is wearing full sets only 2 weeks into the launch and then you panic and start nerfing the chance to get that gear over and over and over, until you're at the point where 20% of your playerbase has extreme gear, cuz they were the lucky first and everyone else has to put up with being cannonfodder for 3 months or more, to even have a chance at competing. STUPID DESIGN CHOICE.
  2. But I do ... which is why I just wish she would calm down on the competitiveness... I could easily level ahead, but it's not important to me... but if I do happen to do it sometime, i'd like for her to accept it just the same as I accept it everytime she does it (which she does). only reason i made this self-humuliating forum post, was for a glimpse of hope that she can see it's not quite normal to get pissed at your bf for catching up but not telling you he's almost caught up with you (or avoiding the XP question) ... sigh she should be glad all the same ...
  3. I'm just at the point where "too much is too much..." ... even just a few days back, she was level 46 when i was 44 and it didn't once bother me..... but hell breaks loose if I find myself leveling ahead of her character heh...
  4. Ok, first of all ... go ahead and laugh! This is a quarrel between a BF and GF, related to Star Wars ........................ That alone is prolly amusing, but please bear with me and read the whole thing! So just the other day me and my gf was leveling - she is quite competitive when it comes to leveling, even with me, so usually staying within the same level range is quite important to her (if i go further ahead, she gets upset - however if she goes ahead of me, I'm fine with it, cuz we're anyway sticking together till we are both 50, so it's only easier for me the higher she is... doesn't matter to me if shes 46 while im 44 etc) Anyhow, the other day.... we were both level 48. She asks me "so how far into 48 are you" - and I avoid answering because I want to keep it a secret, incase I manage to ding before her, as I know it'll get her worked up and surprised, seen as shes been ahead of me most of the time and it seems important to her, to "be ahead"... So to avoid answering her question, i instead ask her the same one, I make a comment saying "I bet you're close to 49 :)" and she says "no I need a bunch!!".. One quest later or so, she dings and so i found out she was only 3 bubbles shy of 49 when she claimed she needed a bunch etc ;p It doesn't affect me in any negative way though, I just see it as a plus that she gained a level. 20min later, I ding 49, and now I have her yelling at me, saying I lied to her ... I ask her how? she says well by avoiding answering her question when she asked how far into 48 I was ... I say, well should it matter? ... you should be happy I've almost caught up with you!?!? Instead, shes pissed, again repeating that I avoided giving her a direct answer when she asked how far into lvl 48 I was .... and again, I find myself really aggrevated because imo, it shouldn't matter lol and surely I'm not a liar or a dishonest person, for avoiding a question about experience on my character in star wars **** ... What do you think ?
  5. & here I was thinking that the special folks, were the ones leading the minorities, praising to only have 150 people to play with, praising to limited UI configuration options, praising to a system where players are not allowed shaping their own experience and adding to it, with thing's like macros, self-designed UI's and so on... I guess in your head, it's the 11mil people who are all special folks, and you're the only sane person left, amirite? Zzzzz You smell like a "special person", celebrating you finally got your singleplayer game, as a 14$ a month package. Gz
  6. Because a LFD-tool is the only option with cross-realm technology right? If you have so much against a LFD-tool, then how about you support for them to create cross-realm technology, with a shared lfg-chat - but imho it'll be a mess of crazy amounts of spam, if you don't have some form of LFD-tool.
  7. Easy fixes that would make a hell of an improvement .. It's the small constant annoying things that are overlooked by BioWare and make people quit, you'd almost think not a single BioWare employee has taken the time to play their own game. Camera: Still not fixed, been bugged since Alpha/Beta - ***... camera is something that affects EVERY single player of your game, you might want to look into getting it working perfect before release, or well now - atleast just GET it working? Still no option to turn the sticky-cam off (auto swing behind character). Still losing it's custom zoom value every friggin zoning/loading. Still being IMMENSIVELY SLOW at zooming out to your full value when you move under an object and clear it. Hardly a big thing to fix is it? I mean it's surely not code OR a bug burried beneath a billion lines of unread code? ----- Quests: Still can't drop half my old ****** grey quests, you've supposedly fixed this - but again, play your own game and you realize it's not fixed - or atleast test ur fixes BEFORE you claim they are fixed and post them in patch notes ...rofl. Still winning warzones that do NOT count towards my warzone quests.... lame, so lame. ---- Responsiveness: A work in progress I know, but still very very far from the standard of your biggest competitor on the MMO market. ---- Flashpoints / Servers: Really hard doing flashpoints while leveling up, there's so few people to do them with (an average of 100-200 people online at the fleet, isn't much to play an MMO with and find groups among... Didn't you consider any technology worthy of 2012? Even world of warcraft has now for years been able to deliver cross-realm gameplay, meaning the ability to do Dungeons/Flashpoints and Warzones, with people from many many servers, so you're not limited to just the people currently online within your own server.... That kind of technology, should've been thought into the game from the beginning, if you plan to run a longterm MMO.... Whats the point of saying you have 1million players, if all of them are cut off from one another, playing in little groups of 200? I don't benefit from you having a million subscribers then (if you ever get that or have it). I'm sorry to again compare to WoW, but it is the easiest thing to do, as you compare against the leading standard .... in WoW I can do a dungeon/flashpoint pretty much any time of the day/night/morning, because I'm wired up to hundreds of other servers, all sharing the same Warzones/Flashpoints. Shouldn't your game be atleast up to par, on what makes the biggest MMO's big? if not even further ahead of them, when you release in 2011? /end semi-rant --- confused and disappointed customer.
  8. Hi When building hype - you get what? (correct answer = expectations) When throwing a lot of money into building a lot of hype, i.e cinematic movies tv spots etc etc - you get what? (correct answer = HIGH expectations) When mirror-copying an extremely popular MMO already on the market, yet managing to screw up some of the most basic basics (camera, follow, engine/fluidity) You get what? that's right .... DISAPPOINTED subscribers and what you apparenty call "whining", and others see as legitimate concerns, that should of been resolved during BETA.
  9. No-one's asking for miracles, we're asking for game developers to pay attention to their own game. Just an example, how can you release a game, knowing you will have 500k+ players within the first week, ALL questing, and not even bother to hot-fix the "follow player" option? Just to mention an example ..... Camera being screwed is another example of something you as a game developer should KNOW will be irritating for a great deal of people.
  10. So this is supposed to be the "BIG" patch that saves the day .... ?? For me personally, it does absolutely nothing, not even close to fixing ANYTHING that will have an impact on the game for me... Let me give BioWare some examples, of things that GREATLY annoy me, things i would need to see fixed if i was to renew my subscription .. Camera - it's so POORLY made, it's constantly losing the zoom-value you put in preferences, forcing me to hit the zoom-out key repeatedly every few minutes and let's FOR GODS SAKE have a NO STICKY cam option, like every other MMO in the history of MMO's! Follow - I'm DEAD tired of the most simple and basic functions of your game NOT functioning, I can't go AFK 2 minutes to do something while I put myself on follow on a friend, and hey this is the kinda crap you fix in ALPHA or atleast BETA ... Ability Delay - Really? if you're gonna go with the choice to BUY an engine, as opposed to designing one in-house, then why would you pick one that has been behind ZERO good game releases? was it cheap? Do you really think it's worth it now, in hindsight? do you think you'll compete with WoW, which obviously was the plan, looking at your content & classes .... ? Please for the love of GOD, adhere to the 5,000 reply threads concerning ability delay and TELL us SOMETHING more than "we're aware of the situation and discussing it internally" .. PVP - Just in general, really ... you copied wow classes almost entirely, but you added a lot more CC's - THAT DOES NOT WORK. Crowd Control is a gamebreaker, if not balanced well between classes ... am I really the only melee who feels like a dick for playing melee class? Whoever I attack ... I'll within seconds be slowed, stunned, slowed again, stunned again, incapacitated, stunned again, slowed some more .... like, REALLY ? Your "Resolve" seems to do NOTHING, when I can literally be chased by 4 players, and chain-stunned, chain-slowed till death ... Combat-timer - What is your combat timer!? ... as a stealth class, I rely on hit & run, I rely on getting away from people and re-stealthing, but FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, It seems like once I opened combat, I can run away and far for 20+ seconds and STILL remain in combat ... *** ? If ANY, even just ONE of these issued has been approached in 1.1, which is supposedly your "BIG PATCH", then i'd have considered sticking in and waiting for more fixes, but since NONE of what matters to me, seems to be of any concern to you (bioware), I understand that you apparently already accepted that me and others like me, will leave and you'll hold on to the people who are happy with voice overs and companion courting. / Sheepdog ( Ahto City )
  11. I have a feeling there is nothing you can do about this issue. I believe (this is a guess from my side), the degrading performance has to do with their Hero Engine and their choice of design. Even my computer which is top of the line, gets slower the longer I play this game. In the beginning, i'll be loading zones really fast, but as I continue to play, the zone loads and lag in zones like imperial fleet (where there's 150-200+ clients) increases. I read an interview from a BioWare developer, in which it was revealed, that they porpusely made the game in a way, where each client will only download the content from the area it is currently in, as opposed to WoW for example, where you will download 1 big patch that will get you up to date with every zone/area, in SWTOR, your client will only download the areas in your immediate zone, which means that once you change planets or travel, loadtime increases and processing increases, as your client needs to download, render and handle these new locations, each time. I think this is what causes degraded performance and why it affects every PC. I've also had a few bluescreens with what could appear as memory leak in the game, so that could also be factored into the equation.
  12. Have you seen Sith Assassin? 100% copy of Rogue class in wow. Stealth - Stealth Low Slash - Gouge Maul - Backstab Force Cloak - Vanish Force Shroud - Cloak of Darkness Force Speed - Sprint Force Slow - Crippling Trash - Sinister Strike Force of Will - PVP trinket But i don't care that they copied the classes pretty much 90% from wow... What I care about is that they did NOT copy the smooth engine, fluid attacks and character responsiveness :/// When you copy something, atleast copy the best parts first and work on eyecandy later.
  13. I wish they would fix this... This is a make or break.... several of my friends who started the game, the first thing they ve said is EXACTLY this..... they've said it feels sluggish and un-responsive. one already quit, only after trying 1 day and he just oculdn't stand it :/
