In the recent years Disney only made Vader even more stronger . In the "Lords of the Sith" it was claimed Vader's injuries strengthened his connection to the Force, the exact opposite of the Legends route. And they have been following that claim. So far he has been crushing AT-ATs, lifting multiple AT-STs at the same time, bringing down ships, killing two full squadrons of rebels in a matter of minutes, tanking huge explosions, slamming Palpatine to a wall. In a recent comic, through a force vision he saw he could still deny the dark side and kill Sidious as Anakin Skywalker again whenever he wanted but he rejected that possiblity, believing he lost everyone he cared about and Palpatine was the only one left. In the canon, there's no doubt in Vader's mind. He's fully committed to the dark side, his suit helps him (not like the Legends version where it limited his potential as a torture machine) and he enjoys being Vader. Again, the complete opposite of Vader's persona in the Legends. Currently, Vader is in it's own tier in the canon and Yoda, Windu, Sidious are all at a level below.

After the merges I couldn't wait to login with my vigilance guardian but I had a complete let down. And the new skill that replaced Dispatch for vigilance guardians is very generic too. I thought he was Plagueis but just a week before the release of TFA I knew he was not. How many times have Lucas Story Group's Hidalgo and even some of the new canon material had to confirm that he's not Plagueis? Hidalgo said he's not Plagueis countless times and the Sith is completely extinct. Anakin fulfilled the prophecy by killing Sidious and his Vader persona. There won't be any more Siths after episode VI. Plagueis is dead. Just move along. However, I believe we will eventually get a canon Darth Plagueis book about the creation of Anakin Skywalker. Hidalgo confirmed what Palpatine said about Plagueis to be competely true. He could create life and save people from death. But apperantly his backstory is very much different than the legends book as he said Lucas had a different backstory about the character, his death in his sleep was certain (not like in the book) and that's why they don't canonize the legends book.

Because how in the hell we could defend Sidious and "most powerful sith ever" title. The Son, the Daughter and the Father - Out. There can't be a dark side user that's more powerful than Sidious. Besides, Sidious would go further down in the list against our likings. Ancient Sith - Out. One possibly can come with some force feats that exceed Sidious'. We don't want that. Valkorion - In. We believe we can defend Sidious' superiority over him and he's not a sith lord anymore so if anyone is in doubt, "the most powerful sith lord ever" title will remain. I've proven Darth Plagueis is superiror over Sidious here with facts. I've proven even the Jedi padawans can create those kind of force storms. I've proven Sidious' title was retconned. Hell, even Vitiate/Valkorion is more powerful than him. What did they do? They only explained their thoughts that were based on assumptions without referreing to any source material. Even when they do, there's always a trick. Either it's from an old material that's retconned or there's a "may" there or there are others capable of doing those things too... BTW, I wonder what stops anyone from publishing more Legends material that it exceeds the absurdity of the previous material. For some reason people here think, Bioware or anyone will *********** care about power levels and they won't create more powerful characters. This is pathetic...

I kinda agree. But it's strange I was a fan of Sidious before but after this thread I started to dislike him. Being a fan of him didn't make me put him above Mace, Yoda, the ones and Vader. Still, I love movie Palpatine. He had been played by the best actor in the entire saga.

Lightsaber skills are considered force power. Sidious' greatest force power "force lightning" didn't do much good against Mace. Ironically, Palpatine scarred himself forever because of his own power and for that he would never forget Windu.

I haven't read this before so: 1. We have lots of evidence that Vader's more powerful than Sidious. 2. In that particular instance Sidious didn't need to hold back. It wasn't a demonstration of power. 3. What Lucas said doesn't matter here because we're talking about Canon. The other thread is Legends where you can use all material that has been produced so far. 4. a) We all know Anakin's tremendous potential. In the canon novel Lords of the Sith, it's confirmed that the injuries he suffered at Mustafar strengthened his connection to the Force. He feels he's more powerful with the Dark Side after that incident, in the novel. What Lucas said isn't true anymore. b) He demostrated TK skills that surpass any force user in Canon including Sidious. c) His lightsaber skills are far beyond Sidious' level. Yoda, Sidious and Dooku were shown close to eachother in lightsaber combat. Even before becoming Vader, Anakin killed Dooku easily in the lightsaber combat. d) He's confirmed to be faster than Sidious. e) He could control the Son and the Daughter in the same time in one particular instance. So what do we have here? More raw power, better TK, better lightsaber skills, faster and "unlimited power" when he's close to any source of the Force.

Sidious made fun of him and his brother in TCW. What do you want more? I think as the Emperor he doesn't deal with stuff like this. He knows Yoda, Kenobi and Maul are all alive but he thinks they can't do ****. He'll be proven wrong in the future but that's what it is at this point of the story.

On the contrary. Kenobi's interference in such big events after the ROTS, and killing a powerful Sith who was the apprentice of the Emperor himself, would be the real thing that could destroy the continuity. I don't think Disney is that stupid. Their fan service should have limits. I don't expect you to understand this anyways

It's too quiet here. I reiterate my claim that Sidious was not the only one capable of those kind of force storms.

This time, I bet everything I have that Vader will kill Maul, for good. Not sure on this one but I have a feeling he'll kill Maul after Maul kills Ahsoka. I'll quote this post in the future.

Finally! Although I don't agree with you completely, this post definetely deserves respect. Sidious was intented to be the most powerful dark side user by Lucas. Then Plagueis was inVented to be even more powerful than Sidious only because of the context of the scene that's written by Lucas. However, EU continuity is the problem here. I don't believe for a second that Lucas had cared about EU Sidious and I bet he doesn't even know about Vitiate. He produced material without considering EU's past and future even for one second. Just like Lucas, they put the statement for Plagueis in the back of the book without caring about Sidious' force storm or Vitiate's possible new powers in a future expansion pack for SWTOR. As you know, there are contradictions even in the movies themselves, let alone in the whole Canon. Now imagine the whole EU. WHO can guarantee we won't see greatest ever statements or force feats like Vitiate's for a new character? Bioware for one seems like they're not restricted to any SW material other than theirs especially after the EU wipe. Because of these reasons and more, it's impossible to create a healthy list in the Legends. Even in the Canon, we've witnessed it's too hard for 2 people to agree on the place of one character let alone they could reach an agreement on the whole list.
