Yeah starting characters to try will be a better way to find out. Also observe the number of players on your starting world and fleet during your fave play time. If the fleet is a ghost town all the time, another server will be better. It also depends on whether you prefer PVP or PVE servers. Technically you can be attacked anywhere on a PVP server but I haven't heard of any massive ganking on PVP servers yet. Do check out Canderous Ordo as well. My guild has many Singaporean players so we have raids going on during mornings in America (night time for Singapore and Hong Kong). The fleet does get a bit quiet in our afternoons (after 3 am in America) but some Asian players will be there. Look for the guild Prophecy (empire) if you decide to join Canderous Ordo.

I levelled up an assassin with the intention to do dps, but after trying out the end-game (high level and HM FPs) I realise that SWTOR is really not melee dps friendly. So switched my assassin to a tank. Obviously, there are times whereby my friends would want me to tank and sometimes they need a dps. I am not going to get 2 sets of purple gears and respec everytime. I am levelling a mercenary now and she is dps specced. Once she hits 50, I will have a tank character and a dps character for me to use whenever I need to.

No. Assassins need more than 20 keybinds. I didn't play a Juggernaut so I can't judge, but Assassins need to make use of most (if not all) of your abilities to be effective. You can't play assassin with a few keybinds or simple rotation. Maybe you can, but that playstyle won't take you far. As for PvP, both are effective if played well. Different style though so I agree with checking out youtube videos to see which one you like more.

I wouldn't actually complain about having to spawn at the nearest med center when I die (since using a med probe won't make sense story-line wise), but why am I getting all my armour broken for fights in my dream? It would be a lot more palatable if there is no damage to armour for this dreamwalker questline. Ah well.

I am hitting 50 soon (a few bars more to go) and doing pvp at the moment to save up commendations for end-game gear. My goal is not to be a battlemaster, but to actually have decent gear to do HMs and Ops with my buddies. I started levelling as deception assassin, was alright. But when I got Talos I switched to darkness. Loved the zero downtime with trash mobs and zero problem against elites. There are a couple of juggernauts among my friends and if they join the HM I am doing, I will dps. If none of them happen to be online, I will tank for my healer and dps buddies. Obviously the optimal solution is to have 2 sets of purple gear for both dps and tank but it is going to take a while. Respecing every week is not an issue for me. Did anyone tank in dps gear or dps in tank gear? How was your experience? Clearing 1 - 49 content without the most optimal gear is no issue, but I am not sure how things change in HMs and Ops. I don't need to do OMGWTFBBQ dps but at least I need to be a non-liability for my group to beat the engage timer. Will appreciate any input regarding which is the first set of gear I should go for.
