  1. We have quite a few people in Central and Western so traffic tends to be heavier from 9pm ET to midnight. But as I said, we're just getting ramped up so don;t expect to see a ton of folks yet -- I think we had seven on at once last night for a new record.
  2. Missed my point entirely. It's just that in the scheme of things, this is way down the list of priorities. You are almost as likely to end up in a crap situation when you're in from jump with a PUG as you are when you join in progress. And to be honest, come from behind Ws are often the sweetest. i distinctly recall joining one beatdown on Alderaan in progress with two other guys, and we turned it around in < 60 seconds. We ended up winning the match 10-0 and it was one of the sweetest Ws I've ever experienced. It's not that I care more about medals / comms (especially since I get more comms from a full match than a partial one) -- it's that this just isn't as big a deal as ridiculous team compositions in Arenas, borked relic procs, glitches in capping, etc., etc.
  3. Exactly. That was my point. It's not that this is fun -- I would much rather enjoy a competitive hard fought match. Winning in a blowout isn't really any more fun than losing in one. Or not much more, anyway. it's just that of all the things I want BW to fix in PvP, this isn't anywhere near the top of my list. Not even close.
  4. Jasuke / Yeldai: In a similar situation to yours. I've been in the game since launch, took a break for a while, came back four months ago and didn't find a good RP experience so I focused on PvP for a while. Just hooked up with a couple of old buddies from launch who started a new RP guild. The three of us were all officers in one of Lord Adraas' most successful and respected RP guilds -- House Vasta -- back in the bad old days. We've also picked up a few very good RPers in the past couple of weeks even though we aren't really planning to get going until the new year. Come check us out or talk to us in-game. I can promise you two things: The RP will be of very high quality The RP won't be the same ol, same ol We've got some folks here who pride themselves on very unique characters with tons of depth. I am Akeso -- the Jedi non grata who thinks the Jedi Code is a load of BS. And our guild lore / backstory would fit extremely well with what you have written up in the post above. We're just getting rolling and ready for a big push in events, storyline and recruiting after the holidays, so now would be a great time to talk to us, see if you fit, and if you join us get in as the main lines we will follow are being developed. Regardless of where you go -- good luck from another RPing Founder. Circle of Ashla Circle of Ashla Lore
  5. ^^^^ This. Never trade mainstat or power for anything else. I'm not good with the math, but here's what I have learned anecdotally... For Sages there will be a point at which your PvP gear stacks too much Surge (i.e.,> 70%) and you hit diminishing returns. (My DPS Sage got over 76% before I started paring it back.) Because of the way stats are paired on mods, at that point Alacrity will probably be your best option even if you're a DPS Sage. If you're a healer, you probably want to go to Alacrity as soon as you hit 70% surge. If you're DPS, you probably keep going higher, but anything over 75% becomes truly inefficient. Even if the reduced cast / GCD time isn't that big a deal to you, the increased force regen rate is helpful in those matches where you are "UNBEATABLE" and you're having to burn big force on Earthquake now and then. There are many times when I am using sacrifice to get more force as I am on empty, and besides the health loss, that's a wasted GCD every time you use it.
  6. I always wonder why people get upset about this -- I guess I don't have the requisite gene. The way I look at is: Since you don't need Ws to finish your weekly anymore, an in-progress WZ just means I have to spend less time getting credit for one match completed. If it's a massacre, i can still usually pick up my minimum 3 medals, and if there isn't enough time to do even that, well it's usually a very short stay for my 1 match credit. I'd rather get one of these than have to play through a whole match with a bunch of newbs who don't have a chance of winning as that entails a lot more pain and suffering.
  7. ^^^^ This. I have been seeing buttloads of people on EH with Battlemaster gear running around the past few days and generally being completely ineffective. The worst part is that as returning players with battlemaster gear, some think they are uber. LOL -- no clue on bolster, using gear that is actually hurting them. Primary stat just over 2K. Then they refuse to follow the leaders or do things like guard nodes or call inc because they are uber PvPers. I would rather have the new 55s. It has been a newb horror show the past few days. I was in an Alderaan match last night, and getting focused immediately every time I showed my face because there was no one else on my team with even 40% of my damage. There were non-healers on our team with < 100K damage at the end of the match. I didn't think it was possible to be that bad. It has been painful just getting my daily done.
  8. PvE gear of 69s or above will NOT get you to 2018 Expertise even with bolster. However, you will have higher stats with the top level PvE stuff. It mostly balances out -- the increased Expertise of PvP gear will give you a bit more survivability, but not much. In short, PvP gear has a slight advantage in PvP over top of the line PvE gear. Which is at is should be IMO -- if anything it should be more of an advantage. So back to your main Q -- is it worth it? Depends how you play. I don't raid -- I PvP a lot. Clearly worth it in my case. If you only PvP sometimes and raid all the time -- probably not worth the effort to focus on getting PvP gear.
  9. If he is, he just drew attention to himself.
  10. What he said. BM gear is worthless for anything other than cosmetic purposes.
  11. No need to get all defensive about it. If you check the text in my link, you will notice that it says http://www.noxxic.com/swtor/pvp/jedi-consular/sage/balance/stat-priority: Jedi - Consular Sage Balance -- see it? Don't ask me why these forums are directing you to the wrong page -- if you copy and paste that link it takes you to the correct page. And in any case -- I pasted the correct text. from the page. I am inclined to believe your explanation as it makes much more sense. Just saying, everything I have actually seen on Noxxic and on this site says it overcomes defense. That's why I was looking for evidence that is incorrect. and that it works as you say it does.
  12. Not saying you're wrong -- but there seems to be a lot of dispute on this. According to noxxic on the Balance Sage Stat Priority page http://www.noxxic.com/swtor/pvp/jedi-consular/sage/balance/stat-priority: Now...you should be able to get near 105% without using stats on gear (skill tree, companion bonus) so perhaps that's what you're saying? Otherwise, I'm still not clear that 100% accuracy is what you want as a Force user in PvP. I would love to verify that if true, because I can change a skill point if so.
  13. Agreed. If nothing else, they should be able to CC him to death.
