  1. Used Khem from level 1 tot 38. As opposed to our Jedi he can hold aggro after the initial pull and lets me Forcestorm>Chainlightning.
  2. Yea in the end of ACT 1 your choices decide your companion. (while the name is the same, depending on your choices the companion looks different, talks different, likes different presents AND different companion quessts) For Inquisitor i dont know what triggers it then, currently level 38 and V dark so im guessing im getting Nox TBH i find the Agent to be the most interesting seeing as how decisions affect the entire story rather then just your points
  3. Their bodies dissappear because they have learned to become one with the force. Not all Jedi's can achieve this. I believe Master Yoda thought it to Qui gon in e1? (il have to confirm this.) I do know Qui Gon tought it to Obi Wan Seeing as the force is part of every creature and is Balance in its purest form to me it feels logical that Forceborn are there where they are needed when they are needed. While Anakin was born from a human mother perhaps that was the way to get him where he was supposed to be, when he was supposed to be Since we know to little about the background of the other "Yoda's " It is possible that they were in the same situation. The force required Anakin, because without him there was no Dark side user strong enough to balance out the force. ( Mace Windu could have potentially killed palpatine) Why did Anakin had children? In the past it wasnt needed, there were a lot of jedi/sith at the end of E3 there wernt a whole lot left. Like i said, we can only speculate Problems only arise when you look for them instead of solutions. " Ifeel this hypothosis has too many problems, It is more likely that Yoda and the others are members of a secretive race, and that they do have a name, it's just we (The audience/readers/players) don't find out" Now your looking for answers instead of problems
  4. Would be amazing if people would read the entire discussion before adding a view, stated by many already. Im against the change in general, i do feel that certain problems within this discussion pop up. Can the advanced class be considered a different class or just a spec? + Its a different class because of mechanics, gameplay and gear - Its not a different class because they share skills and a story. A Class is defined by its mechanics, gameplay, resource system and the gear used. (If someone could give another definition id be open to suggestions.) If 2 out of the 4 are different were already talking about different classes For example. While in WoW warlocks and mages shared, recourses and gear, their mechanics and gameplay were different enough to be considered different classes. It is the same within SWTOR. Even between Guardians and Sentials. Heavy vs Medium armor and mechanics (fury) AND gameplay. (having taunts available is gameplay) The next part has the assumption that AC's ARE in fact different classes. One of the most used arguments is that the story is the same and people dont want to play the same class all over again. If they are that identical, then why change the class, it wouldnt give any benefits? Its because they are not identical. A sage playthrough offers a completely different gameplay expierence than a shadow does. Same counts for a scoundrel and gunslinger. a Commando and a Vanguard. The only possible exception is the Guardian/sentinal, but as above stated even they are different enough. The argument: I played this AC to level 55 but i decided i dont like it. Really, you played a character for over 4-5 x 24 Hours and THEN you decide you dont like? You probably have had a lot fun leveling it or you wouldnt have played it for so long. Im a casual player, i dont have time to level a whole new char! Why exactly do you want to change AC? At level 55 its all about end game. Just because it is easier to code AC changes than complete class changes doesnt mean there is a theoretical difference between them. If you approve of AC changes by definition you Approve of class changes. If someone could argue convincingly why class changes in SWTOR are a good thing i might switch my mind. But i dont want class changes to be available because this game wouldnt feel like an RPG anymore. People remember what RPG'S were like? you made tough decision about your playstyle, your story and your statistics. TBH i LOVE QoL improvements like sprint, vehicles XP boosts for alts etc. It makes the experience smoother and you get to chose to do what you want while leveling and still not be underleveled. Double XP weekend? Awesome Im not for making the leveling experience harder or more tedious i just think that time/effort should not buyable. Changing an AC is doing exactly that. (Changing cosmetics does not influence gameplay mechanics)
  5. To be honest i have this romantic notion of Yoda and his similar looking "species" Are "The Forceborn" They are created by the force to help bring balance, If im correct the ones known are never in the same time period This is also the reason why Anakin was Forceborn, the jedi Forceborn disrupted the balance to much. It explains why there is little to nothing known, why their bodies dissapear and why there was another Forceborn to balance it out For me it explains their existance, their power and their pressence.
  6. You mean completely changing the animations of 8 classes, adjust the base values of statistics andredesigning talents and skills so they work with different weapon types wouldnt be all that hard? Besides the development issue. Certain classes have certain perks: weapon type is one of them. I love the unqueness of my shadow because he has the double bladed sabre, just like a lot people love the dual wielding.
  7. Wasnt anakins problem that he Needed Padme to replace the hole of female attention he didnt recieve because he was taken away by his mother so soon. Or basically put, he needs padme, its his reason for living. this is why he would do everything to protect her, because without her he would have nothing. This is not love, this is obsession. Love in itself is not harmfull, its the possible side effects: Jealousy, rejection, dissapointment and a whole range of other negative emotions all lead to anger. This is why emotional neutrality and being attached to principles rather then people is what the jedi strive to accomplish. Killing someone i care about is wrong, not because it hurts me, but because killing innocents is wrong. Sith draw their power from righteous anger, they dont doubt their decisions, they know the are right. This makes them uncorruptable. Jedi's neutrality on the other hand makes them capable of being corrupted a lot easier. Which leads me to OP's question. If you take act on behalf of because you feel its right it is still self righteous anger> Dark side If you feel compassion, but stay absent or act because it the right thing today, without feeling sad or happy about it> Light side. I think the best way to explain this is when watching a nature documentary and you see a lion cub almost being killed by a pack of hyenas Dark side compassion: You act, and scare/kill the hyena's Light side compassion: You do not act because its the way of the force.
  8. Next to the JK i know of these Sith inquistor end title depends on your Alignment (so not choices) The agent story in total is an alignment mess and full of plottwist, so your best of just picking what you would do rather then going full alignment. Dark side sith warrior get a different companion then Lightside sith warrior
  9. Give blizz to my jedi shadow... Stealthing up to someone SUPRISE JAWA WITH A ROCKETLAUNCHER In no way is this not epic.
  10. Like someone said Darth Jadus is second to the empire. Just like with the emperor being close to him corrupts you to the dark side> Making him a formiddable Force user and Warrior next to being the second strongest sith alive (emperor being one) (this is said in the Agent story btw) So i guess the challenge would be, who would be able to kill darth jadus, Wrath or Nox
  11. Nice cherry picking there, i gave multiple arguments how it could influence the gameplay EXPERIENCE of others. 1 of the main arguments being. If someone leveled 2 characters with 2 different advanced specs. While someone else can buy it. It feels like its pay2win Real money > time and effort. This is not the case for all the cosmetic changes currently available. This is the reason why i oppose it. The reason i chose to quote that line from your AC choice is because choices should matter in an RPG. its one of the universel rulesets of and RPG . About the paladin/AC discussion. Yea A paladin can Furfill all roles, they only got 1 specialisation per role though. Every AC has 3 specialisations. Marauders and Snipers even have 3 dps specs. While 2 talent trees are comparable, they operate vastly different in the AC's. when they old talent system was in place Paladins had acces to ALL sills except for the one obtained through talents. In an AC you only have acces to 40% of the skills which are generic for the storyline, the rest of the skills are for the AC only>Class skills.
  12. No matter how often i run BT/ESS always ask if people want to watch the clips. Especially with a lot of the new players around. If they say im new but i dont mind i even force them to watch them Those 2 instances are just an integral part of your story experience (taking a shuttle to the fleet, suddenly having to do something) Im all for spacebarring, just be sure to decide on the rules before you go in. If someone wants to watch? you watch.
  13. Im so done with this, it does not impact YOUR gameplay nonsense. Letting people change from a sage to a Jedi guardian doesnt impact my gamplay as well. If someone would instantly become level 55 because he bought it, while id have to level an alt all the way there it wouldnt influence my gameplay as well. If that person gets all his gear/unlocks on multiple characters it wouldnt influence my gameplay as well. Playing an RPG means developing your character along certain lines. Picking a class, look and playstyle. While in a single player game changing these base rules affects nothing but your own gameplay experience Changing these in an MMORPG you do influence the gameplay experience of others. THis is part of the rules of the game. Then there is the point of the feeling of accomplishment. While some will always take the easy root, others dont. The second group is emotionally influenced by less effort but same result> lowering their Gameplay Experience. A note here is that in MMORPG's Gameplay is far superior with regard to experience than Cosmetics are. Thats why cosmetic changes do not influence me in any way. Im a Jedi Shadow Tank, my guild is lacking healers however and has suffiecient tanks I decide to switch to sage. You could say this only benefitted the people from my guild. However, this also means one other player wont be able to play with our guild, even though he invested all this time in becomming a healer for a raiding guild! Someones gameplay experience is now changed. While this is a weak example, changing AC influences others, while not directly. they do so indirectly. Trooper, Smuggler, Consular and Knight are not classes. They are storylines. Go finish your storyline as a trooper/consular/knight or smuggler it becomes pretty darn difficult if not impossible. It would stimulate people chosing the easy leveling AC then switch at max level. Again Breaking the rules of the MMORPG genre. Some people would hate that they leveled an alt for the exact reason as people that are buying AC changes Changing AC class means your buying something that would cost a large amount of time to obtain without these recourses. this = the definition of pay2win Bioware already did this with level 31 armor and space stuff. The final arguement against this is i think what is said in the game, not by developers. This decision is permanent, so choose wisely.
  14. Get Fully moddable gear Buy all the makeb planetairy modifications. This should give you a nice starting point. If you lack the PC either go pvp for them or do dailies. If your an artifice or cybertech start farming mats for the armor/mod/ehance you want to have on an epic level. If you do this by the time your level 55 you should have full 66 gear for all your slots from head to bracers. About ops, just search for a guide on the internet and watch a youtube video. While this takes you 15 min it also helps YOU alot because you have an idea whats comming. This is unless your a hardcore roleplayer, in which case just go for it do have all the makeb level 50 stuff though!
  15. Id say go operative/scoundrel. Stealth Heal Best CC in game + you get to play through Agent again but pick a different path! Else shadows/assasins are amazing as well. Highest dmg tank and arguably the best objective pvp char.
  16. This, id like to have a purple chest with with red of pieces. Unfortunatly i cannot mix and match to see what it looks like. Which makes dye slots on non chest gear feel like a money sink. The only way to do it now is to unquip all slots xcept one you want to check. Then add the rest of the pieces which will then be default color. This is a big hassle, Let me right click a gearpiece> leftclick dye to check out the color of individual pieces.
  17. Looking forward towards Project Titan and ESO. ESO because i played the last 3 games a lot. like over 120 hours each which for a single playergame is amazing. I like what ive seen about the "pick whatever weapon/armor you want and you can play with it" Especially in pvp this should bring out very interesting compositions. Project Titan because im just a major fan of blizzard and have played ALL their games since Warcraft. Played WoW from beta up to the last 2 patches in Mist. Why? Forced grind of daily quests. Its not my thing. Enjoyed end game raiding (finished Cata DW Heroic) But the focus on grinding was just to much. I do feel people bash it to much though. It set the tone for MAINSTREAM gaming and became THE best known online game worldwide. While it did not do everything great, it does have a lot of amazing features that many people enjoy and that other MMO's are happily kopying. Even though EQ had some of these features WoW set and raised the bar. Now on Topic: To me the perfect MMO has a class quest system like SWTOR with a personal class related story SWTOR Crafting system, no more mindless farming required to get mats unless you want to use it to get reach. WOW Crafting gear. Where end game gear can actually be crafted and all proffesions are usefull to max. GW2 quest system where you can just join in to people doing a quest and questing actually feels more then pick up all the quests for a zone, do them hand them in> next zone. The Defiance/Rift systems random events were everyone can join and participate. SW PVP (Love huttbal) Combined with rift and wow objective based pvp.(Vanilla Alterac valley was the best pvp i ever had funwise) Cross realm grouping and pvp from the start or 1 big server with multiple instances. End game raids/FP/Operations should consist out of a mix of WoW WOTK with tiered end game (still the best end game ive played) Raid finder/group finder should have no easy mode. You want to raid? Prepare. While raiding would be available to all it would stimulate people forming groups before going in. And most importantly end game solo content. Put me on an epic quest to save something. Include doing pvp (to train my individual skill) FP (deep inside that point youl find x) Add jumping stuff like GW2 Add action based combat for this quest like in Tera, add bosses that can be solod but require a lot of tactics and skill to finish. (rogue legendairy quest in Cata) Hell id even take Falloutesh options were you can talk your way out of everything. I honestly dont mind having to traverse 16 planets at max level, beating stuff without being directly rewarded. Or even having to farm instances to get my gear high enough that i can continue my solo quest. Having to do dailies in order to progress your solo quest is great. Any MMO that can add this + suprise me with sandbox features, housing, the customization of aion and the options of killing everyone i hate no matter the consequenses would the the one id play.
  18. Those gems can be used at level 10. In both mainhand and offhand for all your alts and all their companions. per character this means the unlock is worth 12 max level gems. seeing as you can buy 1 of those gems between 100 and 200k both the power/cc and the cc/igcredits balance is highly beneficial. If you can then spend 600 cc to get them on 8 chars x 5 companions that means a wopping 8 x6 x 2 = 96 gems. for a relatively low amount of cartel coins spend. (hell you can get it for 100k + 600cc. Which is tbh rediculously low for the amount of gems recieved. The only items i see that are more beneficial are the level 1 adaptable armor sets. for the 1800 cc you can have fully moddable gear on ALL your characters and companions.
  19. Excellent idea Also, add pod-racing. WASD controls, use space for a controlled speed boost (has recharge time) Left mouse you use the force/blaster weapons to clear objectives (opens multiple routes, limited availability) And can be used to slow down people directly in front of you. Right mouse click uses foce/blaster to slow people down behind you. Basically a mini mariokart. Id play this.. a lot. The graphics are there. the vehicles are there. Just add unit collision and your good to go!
  20. Insert the system of WoW. 10% of mob credit drops go straight to guildbank. No direct taxation on the members. Create guildperks purchable with credits only (no CC) like 5% increased movementspeed out of combat. 5 milion credits. (Buyably to a max of 5) 1% more reputation gained: 2 milion credits. (buyable to a max of 5) 1% more experienced gained for guild members 5 milion (buyable multiple times to a max of 10) The amount gained from dropped credits is not huge, so youl still need donations from members. Furthermore keep adding very pricey perks, both cosmetic as gameplaywise let the Guildmaster select an social set as a guild outfit for example, a guild pet, a special color dye that you can buy for x amount of credits. Add other examples. (as opposed to wow where these arnt a major gold sink but achievement based, if you make it credit based i think it works better. Especially since SWTOR is a story mmo) This would help solve inflation. In active guild people could discuss togheter which perk they want to work to/buy. Its actually more beneficial for a GM to invest into guildperks rather then personal gain: you get perks unobtainable any other way. This would make it less likely for gms to cancel a guild + if you want to be sure your money is used well join a guild that already has a few perks. This way you know the GM isnt going to scam you or use you as a cash cow. Now all the problems are solved: Less inflation Incentives to donate More transparant idea of what the guild funds are spent on. While large guilds benefit more its about individual players activity ( i think 5 max level players can earn the same as 20 lower level players if not more) so small guilds have the same advantage. It would put more incentive on the social factor of guilds (give achieveable goals) On a first glance you can tell wether a guild is a cashcow or not (are they getting perks?) Taxation is on a volontary basis, but the more members add the more they profit. Both HC guilds as Casual guilds benefit The only people i see complaining is those who hate guilds and play this as a sologame. Srry its an MMO, working together should give benefits Any other counterarguements?
  21. Guessing im one of the few lucky buggers. Bought 5 dye packs, got 1 black/white and 1 black/black. Now im swimming in milions. Random dyes would be acceptible if you could bind them to your legacy just like gear and gems. That way you can buy the colors with credits and invest a small amount of CC to get them for all your characters. PS i personally found that white/red is the best color combo around, especially in combination with eradicator set when you keep the boots, belt and gloves black.
  22. Hey people of the Red Eclipe, First of all some info about me. Im a 26 year old dutch guy that really enjoys this game. Currently my chars are: 51 Jedi Shadow Tank 32 Trooper Commando 31 Bounty hunter mercenary 31 Jedi Guardian 20 Sith marauder 15 Smuggler Scoundrel. Like the topic states im looking for people to basically group with to increase my SWTOR experience + possibly get a look at class quests of those classes i do not intent on finishing to 50 (currently my trooper is my main) I feel this will help me past my alderaan blockage after which i feel soloing everything is slow and tedious What i look for: People that enjoy doing stuff as a team, and very important to me, enjoy pvp. (i really love pvp in this game) Preferably a subscriber because of the speed but F2P are fine as well! People that dont want to do everything asap but take the time to enjoy the story. Making the game more enjoyable, doing class quests and FP's togheter etc. What i offer, a friendly, sociable person that has a subscription has basic knowledge of most classes and the quests up to level 30 for both sides A partner in crime, possible some funding from my my main characters (depending on how the auctions on the GTN go ) and a leveling experience i feel SWTOR was made for. What i will play, currently there are only 2 classes im still interested in playing. Sith Inquisitor and the Imperial Agent. which means we will have to play on the Empire side ( im done with the republic) You can off course play whatever you want although my preference would be for you to play the another class. This would mainly be an ALT playthrough. With this i mean you just play your main and il play mine. When were both online give a shoutout and we switch to the alt to play togheter. I mostly play in the evenings on weekdays and by day in the weekends and on tuesday. If your interested feel free to send an ig mail to Borcas or Mekk, or off course reply to this post PS its really important that you enjoy wz pvp, i intend to do that a lot as well!
  23. i find it great to be a few levels ahead of the curve, although 6 levels is the max. (when quests are green you still recieve maximum quest reward xp) This way you recieve maximal quest experience, can do all the 2 man heroics solo (sometimes even the 4 man heroics) You can run past most of the mobs to get to objectives faster and for me the most important: You actually feel strong. + it does give you some flexibility to skip certain planets etc ( i always skip tattooine.. just hat that big Dune wannabe sandbox)
  24. I remember it from my first char, and i still have money issues when i got it i NEED to spend it! With my most recent char, a trooper with cybertech its pretty easy to keep myself geared. A tip though, if you want to go for orange gear and you dont mind spending some Cash on cartel coins. Buy a gear set. Youl get Chest, Waist, Leg, Feet, and vracers all in orange and adaptable gear. With the current system you can create an infinite amount of adaptable armor sets for your char. (my entre havoc squad is running around in eredicator armor ) Another tip is to get an advanced indestructible crystal (level 10) Which you can also copy indefinatly and which will keep your crystals in off hand and main hand indefinatly supplied for you and your companions. Top optimize gear for you and companions give yourself the best mods, find a companion that uses the same stats> when you replace yours for better ones, give the old ones to your companion, this way your companion will be at max 4 gear levels behind which isnt that much Gl!
  25. Hey there, I just wanted to take a moment and connect some of the great story lines Though i have not played through all story lines 50 Consular 32 BH 27 JK 15 SW 15 Smuggler With what ive read and see so far i feel that the larger picture does not become clear untill you played the storylines of more classes. For example Jedi Knight Act 2 and Consular Complete story Id love to use this thread to fill in those wholes in the plot or questions others might have about their class questlines. Before hand state which classes and acts its about. Jedi Knight Act III and Sith Inquisitor Act 1 + 2 So im not interested in Cameo's but more in these big plotholes that need some filling (non sexual reference ) I feel that this thread might also help those people that dont plan to play all 8 storylines and just dont get some stuff or more importantly feel their story was lackluster (see example 1.) In which case this can be clearing somethings up making people feel better about it!
