  1. Im a casual player, who loves story, who raids with his guild.

It was mistake not to include at least one new Op & a WZ map with Kotfe, even though the people who do these make up 10% or less of a games playerbase.

I know the stated reason, group content is MUCH more expensive to make than solo, so they dont get the player hours return on the money invested, but thats not the point (talking to YOU, dumb EA corporate suits.)

If a game doesnt have new content in all areas, it will shed players. End of story.

EA'a managers dont give a ***** ofc, which is why we have what we have.

    Its a shame really.

  2. it could be worse look at war thunder the developers pretend the obvious problems dont exist they lost 66% of there player base and still refuse to fix what they broke and try to distract the player base with shiny new tanks and aircraft instead of putting time and effort into fixing the problem they already have and they silence any constructive criticism even if the people who are criticizing and giving them suggestions introduced 75% of there player base to the game when SWTOR gets to that point i will do what i did with war thunder and quit

Just curious, I havent played Warthunder in a while. What did the devs do to break it?

  3. I think the OP is referring to the Battle of the Gauntlet, one of the major points in the Trooper story. It's not a Flashpoint.

Also, as I recall, one of the Trooper's companions (either Dorne or Jorgan) is wounded in the battle and becomes unavailable until the start of Chapter 3.

OP, if that is your case, there's nothing wrong with your companion. They were wounded, but will return as you complete more class missions.

I loved the Gauntlet. Seeing my crew in the armour I gave them all fighting together onscreen at once, epic moment.

    WTB crew flashpoints Bioware!

  4. Since all companion can now fulfill all roles the only logical remaining step is to make what weapon a companion uses entirely cosmetic.

LotRO has a sytem for Wardens where a skill does one thing in the melee stance and another thing (with more or less the same effect) when in the ranged stance.

Build three such skill sets, one for each role, then give them slightly different names depending on the companion's base class, and then give them different animations depending on whether they are used melee or ranged.

And then everyone can give their companion whatever weapon they want.

This will a) make more players more happy, and b) drive Cartel market sales as players rush to get exactly the gear they want for all of their companions.

    All The Best

I said the same a little while back. I mean Vette uses an Assault Cannon in the story chapter, right?

  5. The balance betwen cutscene & action has always been wrong since day 1. Think Esseles (too much) and Cademimu (practically nothing).

Then we had all these longish cutscenes for minor quests, where an NPC would take 5 sentences to tell you he/she wanted 10 rats killing.

Rishi & Yavin 4 represent the best game design to my mind. Cutscenes for the main story, & VA dialoge for the side quests with a small text panel.

  6. I read the samething announcement you did, and in it, no where did I read and assume I should send to all one character. I did send some to a character and used them to get a full 208 before 5.0, but the rest stayed with my other toons. What would make you think you would have to consolidate them? Not understanding your logic here.

I imagine he thought they would convert to CXP points.

  7. I'd like to know what happened to Solo Uprisings too.

Yes, MMO, blabla. If I wanted to play group content I'd go back to WoW and my guild there, and I'd never have to pug for anything. Yes yes, go play a solo game then, you say. I would if I could find one that ticks all my boxes the way SWTOR used to do.

I had such high hopes for Uprisings, and going by the video clips it looked pretty much exactly as I had imagined. But without a Solo mode I probably won't do them. Looks like there's not much new content to keep me here for longer than December. I did't care for the KotFE story, and I doubt KotET will be any different.

Grinding old content (again!) for CXP is going to get really old really fast.

From the advertising I thought you would be able to do them solo with 3 crew companions, if that's been dropped im gutted. The problem with group only content like this is, as soon as "The Horde" have done it, latecomers or people with restricted gametime are sht out of luck. Try doing a H2 Star Fortress now, noone wants to do them!

  8. Right, but I wouldn't consider the 212 gear and their RE'd improvements to be "tier 1". Even when RE'd to 216 and 220, they are not as good as the MK-1 ops gear. So, in other words, the proposed gear model for 5.0 is not all that different. I don't RE the 212 gear because it's not worth it to me, but isn't it the case that this line of gear requires the SRMs from conquest, just like 5.0 is said to require?

For example, according to the torcommunity item DB, the 220 Relic of Focused Retribution MK-26 has:

    • 175 End
    • 65 Power
    • 924 Mastery on proc

(And looking at the crafting materials, it does indeed use a Strategic Resource Matrix, which is only obtainable from conquest)

The 220 Exarch Relic of Focused Retribution (ops token piece) has:

    • 177 End (+2)
    • 73 Power (+8)
    • 42 Crit (additional stat)
    • 945 Mastery on proc (+21)

In comparison (not shown here), the 220 MK-26 is not even as good as the 216 Exarch

EDIT: I'll add that I am unaware of any 212 item mod schematics that are trainable, so in term of customizable armor, the best you can craft using trainer schematics plus RE is 208, like I stated.

So, theres hardly any difference, and its way easier to make yourself 2 Relics than Win 2 in an Ops.

    Sorted!

  9. Many of us have spent of millions upon millions unlocking strongholds. Entire days decorating them... And decorating them yet again if we transferred.

A huge percentage of players that did this grind, were really only doing it for the conquest boost.

I can't explain how painful it is to redecorate 4 strongholds after a transfer but if it has no effect in 5.0, it will be even more exasperating. I hope all of that effort is not to become wasted days and wasted millions under the Galactic Command System.

Is there any information on how strongholds will benefit our legacy in 5.0?

Strongholds benefit your conquest point acquisition currently, I presume that will be still the case in 5.0

They have nothing to do with CXP.

  10. Are the alliance crates that drop legacy armor going away in 5.0? If not, will they still drop the legacy gear, or is that going away too?

Thats a very good question. I would guess not, since you need the boxes to increase your Alliance Specialist level, but it wouldnt surprise me if bioware forgot about that & removed them.

  11. There were no new heroics introduced in 4.0 of KOTFE, although they did revamp them making the new meta to gain credits, that doesn't count since they been here sine vanilla. The EC is not group content as it is not scaled properly for a group at all. Star Fortresses is just a copy of solo mode with literally nothing different than the tedium, as adds don't have any additional mechs, just more health and slightly more damaged.

Not true. The H2 Star Fortress has the Exarch boss fight at the end. IF you are well geared, know your class, have a high influence companion it is soloable, but its not easy. Out of my 100 account guild I know of only 4 who have the title for it. Same for doing EC without dieing.

As for EC, it has a group mode where you can do it with 4 people to get the achievement etc (if not the daily quests).

The H2s were existing game content, but made relevant again. Most of the people I know simply skipped them while leveling. A lot of them I had never done before before KotFE.

While there wasnt a new OP of FP (a mistake imho) saying "there was no group content in KotFE" isnt strictly true.

  12. What truly baffles me, that people wants something that they are not suppose to have.

The same way i can demand Wings of Architect "becouse im running Heroics! Why Special snowflakes cannot understand that casuals are also deserve it??!!1111111".

Seriously. That's EXACTLY how you sound right.

High-end top-tier gear should NEVER get into the hands of people, who doesn't even run Operations. Period.

This is a LAW of ALL MMORPG'S in a world.

You are running high-end content - you get best gear.

If you will try to prove that i'm wrong - look at all those "successfull" MMO.

And you will notice that TOP-TIER gear require RAIDING.

Non of them will give you top-tier gear for doing daily quests.

If person A have a large house and awsome sportcar - you can't just whine that you deserve it to and demand to share it with you, despite the fact that you are simple janitor.

    Get it through you head:

    TOP-TIER GEAR DEMANDS HARD WORK.

Want some cheese to go with that whine buddy?

  13. Good VA work can make a game Legendary - Mass Effect is a good story, but when I think of why I love it, its the characters, and the VA work that powers them.

By comparison, whenever I drop into Lotro, the VA work is minimal, and the same guy does a lot of the voices, sometimes hes two different characters talking to each other!!!

It just doesnt work, and I keep thinking, "I miss SWOTORS VA".

  14. W But, the real pain is the non legacy aspect. If you're a raider like me who raids at higher to the highest levels in game on multiple classes not being able to trickle down tokens by way of purchasing any set bonus piece I might need regardless if it's a main scoundrel, or a secondary sorc, is the issue I'm more annoyed by. It removes flexibility for group members. In the raiding community, having flexibility in class/ role is vital in terms of getting the group composition you might need to either fill the group or tip the scales in your favor with a fight.

This point does concern me. I jump from DPS to Tank to Healer as & when. Only my tank is geared well with set piece bonuses. The other 2 are wearing hand me downs. If thats no longer possible, it kills flexibility.

Im a casual / mostly solo player who does SM & the easier HM Ops with my guild. I play for fun. Still, the RNG aspect & non-Legacy aspect of this system worries me.

  15. It's not about the existence of RNG, or lack thereof, though that is certainly a part of it that frustrates people. It's the idea that there is NO good alternative path. The strength of token systems and the reason they have been used in a number of games is that if RNG is failing you, you can save up tokens and get what you want through that, so there is always a way to avoid escaping the bad luck trap.

In a purely RNG system, there will, statistically speaking, be people who will need far longer to get the things they want than is intended. And why? Because they got bad die rolls, while their buddy gets it all in a week. People are sensitive to fairness and forcing an inherently unfair system with no alternative path is going to breed discontent.

Spot on. RNG is a terrible idea.

  16. Disagreed.

How are BioWare going to stop the hardcore PvE players coming into normal PvP and simply rofl stomping players due to better gear? Is Bolster going to adjust all players to the same level? Or are you just going to let this happen (it's one of the reasons why we have Expertise after all, to stop end-game raiders simply destroying PvP orientated players due to gear differences).

Has this issue been addressed? If so how has it been addressed?

You realise how ironic your post is, right? Currently people with a full set of Expertise gear destroy everyone else regardless of class or skill.
